Rey Mysterio got the right guy to avenge what Brock Lesnar did to his son. Why don't he do it himself? Rey doesn't give a d*mn about his own kids! This confirms it's Eddie's son. A real dad would keep fighting.

why the did they have to sacrifice Kofi's title reign for this though? like, what does it matter? why couldnt the match have started, and then Rey's music hits, Cain hits the ring and boom DQ. I agree, or if the goal was to have Valesquez vs Brock at least have Heyman distract Kofi and have Lesnar get a cheap shot and F5. At least give Kofi something to grow off of. But no he go bull dozed lol. Got a feeling this will lead to New Day going back heel.

Vince's obsession with MMA fighters is going to kill whats left of his company. Ronda & Brock have steamrolled the entire roster and now we're bringing in more people that nobody gives a about.

They made Kofi Kingston and his championship run absolutely irrelevant in about fifteen seconds. I'd almost be impressed if it wasn't so stupid. I've also got zero interest in whatever the hell they're doing with Brock / Cain. So.. I guess kudos on making Smackdown Live into must-pass TV.

I'm not saying read into it but maybe this was why Big E wasn't on smackdown? He seems rather vocal about things and maybe be didn't like Kofi getting squashed for an mma battle

Smackdown the A show, enjoyed everything until that chump Valesquez showed up. Would rather have had Cena or Taker end the show.

Visually that was the coolest looking wrestling show I’ve ever seen. It was beautiful.
Music works.
Camera work was top notch.
Matches were okay. But for the debut, it’s what I expected.
Rock needs to take a few days off from the gym.
Not too thrilled with how Kofi lost. Could have at least let him eat a second F5. Unless something ran long and time was running out.

I just thought of something as well. Daniel Cormier trains with Velasquez and is already involved with Fox commentating, and has announced his next fight is his last. Wouldnt be surprised to see him hop over with Cain soon.

Yh Kofi beat a load of top guys during and prior to his 6 month run only to get squashed... we all knew he was losing but the match should have been 10/15 min with Kofi looking much stronger then that.

Might also be a tease to breaking them up, as much as I'd hate to see it end like that.

UFC dont do things for free. Maybe they loan Cain to WWE...and Cormier gets that Brock fight he thought he was getting

AEW absolutely swarmed WWE this week. WWE had more than 3x the programming time this week, and promised all brand new stuff. Yet almost every title was on the line and only one changed hands, into the hands of Brock Lesnar, someone pretty much everyone can agree with isn’t new stuff. WWE is about to learn the hard way that they cant air the same old and rebrand it as “all new content”. They have competition now, and they’re gonna see real quick what all new content really is.

Great show, but I wish they could’ve had this show go at least 30 minutes longer. Where was Stone Cold, Undertaker, and sting? It also kind of hurt seeing kofi lose in that fashion knowing he is probably not gonna get a rematch now either.

I liked the show and liked the ending. That guy beat Lesnar for real in less than 5 minutes to win the UFC title.

They had a Kickoff show Start at 7:30 EST, but it was a red carpet thingie and no meaningful content. Thought I heard Ali's music cue up but it wasn't anything shown.

Anyway you slice it, Cain Velasquez vs Lesnar for the WWE championship is best for business over anything they could've done with Kofi moving forward.

Really don't get most of the hate on here for the Smackdown debut on Fox.
Everyones been complaining about Kofi's boring title run, so he gets squashed by Lesnar and all the sudden the Kofi fans re-emerge.
Every time the legends come back on a show there's hate for how much time they're stealing from the current stars, now Austin/Sting/Taker/Cena aren't on the show and people are up in arms.
I felt like it was the perfect blend of old stars and new stars and surprises to put together a solid show. The stage, the visuals, the presentation, it was the refresh that WWE needed.
