Rick Rude vs Ultimate Warrior

Another feud I was invested in during the late 80s as I was always a big Rude fan. The pose down at the Rumble while corny and waste of time got the feud off to a good start with the post segment attack by Rude. As for the Mania match it was pretty much Rude carrying Warrior to a passable match but I remember being thrilled with the end result and a NEW IC Champ! Poor Bobby post match with that botched press slam though  

The SSlam 89 match though was their best match IMO and the best match in their whole feud. Great build here with them adding in Piper to the mix right before the event to officially to cost Rude the built. Piper/Rude is another feud I cant wait to tackle down the line here in this thread.As for as the company going back to the feud after Warrior won the World Title in 90, It was their best best as Quake got Hogan so Rude was really the only logical option considering his history with Warrior. I liked the training vignettes they would air that Spring which showed Rude all intense saying how he beat Warrior before for a belt before and he'll do it again.

The SSlam 90 cage match while decent was nothing to write home about. Warrior's promo before the match is very entertaining though I gotta say.Kayfabe speaking Rude had his chance to escape when he was on top of the cage. Why did he choose to dive onto em instead??!! Overall though a very enjoyable feud. Rude in my book is definitely Warrior's 2nd best foe with only Savage ahead of em.
