The Rock and Mankind worked so well together, while Rock was already a star before this in my opinion, it was Foley who really cemented him as a superstar. Even all these years later watching that Royal Rumble 99 match is freaking brutal, those are some of the most vicious chair shots I have ever seen it is kind of uncomfortable to watch. These two were gold when they were wrestling each other and when they were on the same team too.

This was a very good feud, the Rock and Mick worked so well together; as opponents, as teammates. Good stuff. I agree. This was one of the highlights of the attitude era. I don’t think it was necessary for Foley to take all those shots to the head at Royal Rumble. The ending of the match was great. Loved the empty arena and ladder match.

Hulk Hogan vs EarthquakeThese two would have interactions pre Mania VI and post in MSG but the real feud would begin that May on Superstars on the Brother Love segment. It was there that Earthquake would attack Hogan with him receiving multiple sit down splashes.Great stuff here as it made Quake look like a monster plus Hogan sold it like DEATH. Following this is when they would plug to death the address to send Hogan get well cards. They really hammered this home on PTW especially. Heenan ripping on em with Gorilla being irate was gold.Still cracks me up to see ''911'' being the PO box. They would also would air a tribute video with them teasing ''is this the end of Hulkamania?!'' Very well done here though I must say Hogan would eventually come back and with that the showdown was set for SSlam 90 in the Spectrum. Not a bad match here with the countout victory making sense looking.Again I liked how they were keeping Quake strong by not being pinned. The feud would rage on into the Fall months where at SSeries, The Hulkamanaics would defeat the Natural Disasters. You could tell by this point the feud was running out of steam. Also while I'm at it dont forget we'll watch this event right here on WF on the 22nd as part of Retro Watch Night! Moving on here they would collide once again in the Rumble match with them being the last two. In the end Hogan would eliminate the big man to win his 2nd and last Rumble. The feud would end soon after this on the Main Event in which Hogan and his buddy Tugboat would defeat Quake and Bravo. Overall...Very good feud here. Like I said it was great seeing Quake getting a monster push here with him looking strong throughout it.I can watch him squashing Hogan any day of the week . Another memorable feud during my fav time in company history.

They really did a good job of making Earthquake look like a monster, I like that Hogan didn't beat him outright at Summer Slam, I think Hogan doing his traditional big boot/leg drop win that early would have killed the feud. I'm not even sure, but did Hogan pin Earthquake on live TV?

This was great stuff indeed. One of my favourite Hogan angles actually. This storyline was so good, you have to wonder if that is why Warriors title run never took off better? I loved his thing with Rude in 90, but Hogan Vs Earthquake was treated as the main story.

The matches may have not been 4 star quality, but this was a great feud.
Can you do Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar next?

Hogan vs Earthquake was a stellar feud. Hogan selling is of course what made it....just like it did with Andre & Savage. Ultimate babyface. The reason it all worked is people loved Hogan. Adored is more like it.
thats why people that piss & moan & think Savage should have beat Hogan @ WM5 are missing the big picture entirely.

Even though Warrior needed this feud, Hogan also needed something big like this to stay relevant and out of the title picture. Warrior-Rude was great but fans had seen it before and kayfabe wise it made sense since Rude beat Warrior but I think that's why Warriors reign fell flat.

I don't think Rude had been rebuilt enough to be a headline heel.

Undertaker vs Brock LesnarBrock would reach the promise land at SSlam 02 by defeating Rock to become the youngest World Champion in history but oh boy was his first challenger a doozy in the form of Big Evil.It wouldn't be long before we would find out these two would be facing each other at Unforgiven. As the build went on Brock would cost Taker in a match with V1! Matt Hardy on Smackdown.Post match Brock would kayfabe break his hand. Great selling by Taker here. The match at Unforgiven was a decent big man match but the finish does bring it down.Still a cool visual though to see Brock go through the set. This one is far from over humanoids! There was only one way to settle this and that was inside the cell at No Mercy.Sara, Taker's pregnant at the time would even have a little role here The match inside the cell was excellent. Just the brutality of it all with both guys bleeding like stuffed pigs.Taker did a great job putting over Brock here.Definitely the last great HIAC match IMO. The feud would end(for now) following this as the Big Show would attack Taker on SD with him getting put out for a few months with him then eyeing Brock for the belt in which we would see Brock turn face for the first time. These two would be the final two in the Rumble that January with Brock throwing out his old foe to head to Mania. But it was in the Fall of 2003 in which these two would engage in another heated feud that would result in a biker chain match at No Mercy.Like a year prior though things would not go Taker's way... This would officially end the feud between the two as far as this era goes.I cant comment on what they would do many years later as I was far done with the product but I will say this...The streak shouldve never been broken. Overall...I was never a fan of Biker Taker but I did enjoy this feud.Taker played the vet role to a tee and Brock proved he can go.Good stuff here.
