I never thought about it until now but it’s interesting how sting won his first title just months after Warrior won his. It makes me wonder if Warrior being on top in WWF influenced WCW to put someone with a similar look on top. I mean Sting definitely deserved it but this does seem like a WCW thing to do. Especially since Jim Heard was in charge at the time.

Everyone here probably already knows the GAB ‘90 is my all-time favorite match followed by Triple H vs Cactus Jack RR’00 NY street Fight and the Steiners vs the Headshrinkers from WMIX.
As for Sting’s attires for me it’s GAB ‘90 Stars and Stripes vs Flair. BeachBlast ‘92 pink vs Cactus Jack. Starrcade ‘90 green vs the Black Scorpion.
I like the Stars and Stripes face paint from the GAB more than the other two designs he did when he wore those tights. War Games and I don’t recall the other event.

Wrestler's and commentators have said in shoot interviews that WCW wanted Flair to drop the title to Luger while Sting was out but Flair refused, saying he had already promised it to Sting (and that he felt Sting was the better option).

Yea I think I remember hearing about this before. It is kinda odd how the timing worked out on that though. Sting definitely deserved everything he got. He was so important to WCW at the time. He had the look, skills, and was good on promos. You’ve gotta hand it to Flair for sticking to his guns on this and waiting to drop it to Sting. His win over Flair meant way more than a win over Luger would have. And what a match too! I love how he counters the figure 4 with a small package for the win.

Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels
Like Hogan/Mach,two guys whose careers will always be connected. I can recall the two great matches they had on SNME in 1990 when both guys were apart of their respective tag teams. You can see future stars in both of em as they meshed so well together. The match at SSeries 92 was very good I thought and a great way to really get their feud going that would last on and off again until 97.
The iron man at WM XII while good is not at the top of my list as far as the matches that took place under this match type. I did love the ending though after Bret lost the belt with him looking all pissed and frustrated. Good preview of what was to come with his character a year later. After this Bret would take a good 6 months off and during this time was when the real life bad blood between the two really went full throttle. When he returned later that year you could tell he had more a different attitude. You could tell with the finish to his match with Sid at IYH It's Time that they were building to the big rematch with Shawn at WM XIII but in the the end I'm glad that didn't happen as we got the classic Bret/Austin match instead.
The most infamous stuff during their feud is the what they would do in 97 both on screen and off. This one promo here is great stuff. Man I loved heel Bret during this time...
The infamous screwjob at SSeries 97 will always be the main focal point of this feud but looking back I wish we got one more legit match between the two with no controversy involved.
Overall though it was a great feud with real life spiced in and that just added to it in a big way.And oh yeah you may ask who I prefer between these two? Definitely the Hitman.

In my opinion, these are the two best in-ring wrestlers I've ever watched, so many great matches with different types of talent. I have been huge fans of both of these guys since their tag team days, Hitman and Shawn were my favorite guys from their respective tag teams. I really enjoyed when these two started feuding with each other in singles competition in 1992, I really enjoyed their match at Survivor Series 1992. Unlike some people on this forum, I really liked their WM12 match. There feud really picked up heat in 1996/97 when their personal issues spilled over to on-screen. The mic work for both of these guys was probably best during this period. Too bad they couldn't get along in 1996/97 so we could have gotten a real wrestling match finale between these guys. On a side note, these two had the first ladder match and official iron man match in WWF/E history.

If I had to pick a time frame from HBKs career that I liked best I would say 92-95. He was a great heel during those years.

Agreed, he was much better as a heel.

Also gotta mention SSeries 93. With all the legal issues Lawler was having at the time, Picking Shawn as his replacement was the right call.
I liked how they tied in their match from the previous event during Michaels's pre match interview.

Great read man Bret and HBK are two of my all time favourites. Just imagine how much they could have torn the house down had they been able to put their egos aside and actually fully trust each other. Also kind of off topic, but with HBK vacating the title in 97 it sparked a thought I always have. Is there a wrestler in wwe history who has lost more titles without getting their shoulders pinned than Shawn Michaels lol.

Randy Savage vs Jake Roberts
The feud of 91 right here humanoids. With Ultimate Warrior getting the axe post SSlam, Jake had to set his sights on someone else and boy did he ever find his next target quickly and really outta nowhere. The crashing of Macho and Liz's wedding by Jake and Taker was not only well done but man shocking as up till that point you didn't think Jake had Mach and his bride on his radar kayfabe speaking. The terror on Liz's face when she opens the box and sees a cobra staring right at her was just so masterfully done. Liz sold it like a PRO.Sid being the savior here had a lot of potential but shame it didn't get to far as he got injured not long after this.
Jake would strike again on an episode of Superstars that Fall as he attacked Mach with his king cobra in a very memorable segment. Everything about this was perfectly done from Jake being the slimy heel, Savage selling the bite, Liz screaming/crying, little kids crying in the crowd etc. Storytelling at its finest humanoids.
They would finally get to clash in December at This Tuesday in TX. The intensity from Savage here is of the charts here and its glorious. Both pre- match and post match interviews he is just on an whole another level. Jake as well as both his promos were gold. The feud would continue into 92 with them both raging war in the Rumble with Macho eliminating Jake. Again good stuff and seeing Jake roll outta the ring when Mach came out just added to it.Their last televised match together was on SNME that February and again the storytelling really pushed this one. Great twist at the end of it with Taker turning babyface also.
Just an overall top notch feud here humanoids from start to finish. Definitely ranks up there as far as my fav feuds of all time go. As I said in the past you really thought these two hated each other and it shined through so much with their work during this feud. For anybody interested in getting into early 90s WWF than look no further than this masterpiece. Amazing, amazing stuff.

This is my all-time favorite feud, just ahead of Bret/Austin. This was the feud that hooked me on wrestling, I had watched wrestling before this but once this feud took off I watched it wrestling week, got all the magazines, and rented all the PPVs from Blockbuster. Savage was my all-time favorite wrestler so it was great to see him back in the ring again. Jake, even though a heel at the time, was still one of my favorites as well. Two of the best in the WWF at the time, maybe ever, on the mic. They really built this feud up great here. I remember watching the snake bite incident on TV when it happened, still one of the most shocking moments in wrestling history. Though their match at Tuesday in Texas was really short, the post match stuff was gold. I loved the rumble part with Jake sneaking out of the ring when Savage entered the Rumble then climbing back in when the Undertaker had a hold of Savage only to get eliminated a few seconds later - great stuff. Their match at SNME in 1992 was good but not great, Undertaker turning face after the match was shocking though. The only thing missing from this feud was a classic match, I feel they were originally supposed to meet at WM8 but with Hogan "retiring" plans were changed. I would have loved to have seen these guys be given a good 15 minutes to perform a really good, classic match at WrestleMania.
Odd side note: before this feud started, Jake and Savage were my first two wrestling figures, ever. My brother gave me Jake (WWF Hasbro) for my birthday and I picked up Savage (WWF Hasbro, Macho King figure) not long after.

I think Chris Jericho talked about this on his podcast a few years back as well. If I remember correctly, I think Jericho joked that Shawn probably lost more titles by forfeiture than by pin fall... This is also the thing that makes me chuckle when people get irate that Bret wanted to do the same thing to Shawn Michaels, yet they never bring up all the times Shawn did the same thing, in the same company.

If they went full speed ahead with Hogan/Flair, I gotta think the blow off to Savage/Jake would've been at Mania. They were having cage matches on the house shows during that period so that would've been ideal. Imagine them going all out with blood and all.
Not sure where that would've left Taker. Only guess would be a match with Sid.

I agree, I think because of the nature of the feud, a little blood would be needed. Also, if Hogan/Flair and Savage/Jake had happened, I think the only place left for Sid would have been against Taker. They possibly could have set up a double turn with Sid turning heel and Taker turning face. Setting up Hogan/Sid, Flair/Macho, and Jake/Taker at Summer Slam 1992.
