I was one of the few that stood up these last two days waiting for this preorder. Truly sucks as this was the only figure I wanted in this wave. Who else is supposed to be in this new wave? Razor Ramon in WrestleMania XI gear, Bobby Heenan in a cloth weasel suit with a black singlet underneath, black trunks Greg Valentine with a chase Valentine in yellow trunks.

The Ryan Satin post does make it sound like Sting and the WWE are negotiating. I read that as the opposite. If they were negotiating the figure probably wouldn't of got pulled. The article really isn't "news.". It literally just summarizes what we already saw on Twitter. It's possible Stine is using AEW for negotiating leverage. I think it's also very possible AEW is willing to offer him a role WWE isn't. The abrupt nature of this makes me think it's closer to the latter.

i just disagree with this completely. nobody can predict whats going to happen down the road. mattel has had the ability to make Sting for YEARS and they covered all his iconic looks. the rest would just be gravy. it takes a LONG time for a figure to get released from its design. we've seen that. and by overloading with one talent, it takes away spots from other people. plus the landscape of the WWE is always changing. what if Sting had 3 more figures made that were not all that different from the ones we got, and then we never got some of the other amazing elite's we've seen since he was signed? the Tugboat/Typhoon/Shockmaster situation was sooooo specific, and they had 3 different ways to get them out. There's only so many figures released in a year. Within that first year Mattel nailed Sting's most iconic look, a "surfer" and even TWO current day ones. they cant plan their business around "whims" Don’t get me wrong, I have the elite Sting that covers his GAB 91 match with Nikita Koloff & I love that figure....but why was this particular one an “iconic” look?? It’s from an ok match that he LOST against Koloff & nothing about it ever really stood out, at least not to me....plus, the figure came with the wrong version of the world title for a 1991 representation not to mention Sting wasn’t even world champion at the time of that match.....Imo, a better choice for an “iconic look” figure in that series would have been to make a Superbrawl 2 Sting from where he WON the Wcw title for the second time against Lex Luger....with the correct version of the world belt included i wasnt talking about GAB sting as iconic.... they covered his iconic look as crow sting with the DM, they covered surfer sting 3 times, and they covered his current WWE run twice.

covered is one thing
quality is very much subjective
kudos for them covering all his eras, but we still don't have a definitive Sting as Surfer or Crow. the Ultimate line was about as perfect as it gets to make an definitive Sting for either era.
But at the end of the day, let's not fool ourselves folks - Sting is not a homegrown WWE talent. So who cares if he's had equally as many looks as Savage or Warrior. Those two will always be priority over a WCW guy

I love the Starrcade ‘97 figure, but I have to disagree. The DM wasn’t his iconic Crow look. It was a defining moment in his career, but the attire wasn’t his iconic crow look. I would say his iconic Crow look would be the black singlet with the scorpions on both sides of the torso & legs. That’s the attire he’s worn the longest. This is what comes to mind when I think WCW Crow Sting...

I think they've done a fine job on the Crow Stings.
It's the Surfer Stings that have issues. Big heads, giant torsos, and of course the beaver teeth. The most frustrating part is, they can do better, and we all know it.

It reads as follows: So based on that information, there's news from PWS and Ryan Satin saying unequivocally Sting no longer has a contract with WWE. Yes, the rest of the article summarizes the stuff from Twitter, but the top part is new information.

Fingers crossed that things can get worked out. Regardless, I think that late 1996/early 1997 Crow Sting is a good one to get as well.

I think in terms of surfer Stings, the Network Spotlight basic is my favourite. In terms of the head and the attire, it's perfect. Only downside is it doesn't have a jacket, but if you just go by this photoshoot and put the Ron Simmons WCW title on him, it doesn't need one. Edit: Here's mine btw. http://instagram.com/p/BvQUFeXHUY7

Sting should have won but old man Vince can't see WCW ever winning s*** over his precious WWE lol! especially at wrestlemania look at the track record. People forget that wasn’t the reason why Triple H won, it was because at that moment the agreed main event to mania the next year was The Rock and Ronda vs Triple H and Stephanie. They wanted to keep Triple H strong for the angle later in the show and the main event the next year. Oh yeah

To me it's his best look, regardless of what's printed where on his outfit. I'm merely talking about the fact that we got a very well done "Crow" Sting and that overall look to me is his most iconic. Not that exact specific attire.

You're right that GAB Sting is an iconic outfit, but he also came with skinny legs, massive torso, and buck-teeth, and earlier runs had him with laced boots. Starccade Sting had wrong boots, smaller torso and arms, and a wooden bat. call it knit-picking all you want, but objectively speaking we have yet to get a definitive Sting in any era. Network Spotlight Sting (shown above) is probably the BEST representation of him and they bloody well made it a basic.

I have a feeling Sting will be signed back to WWE sooner rather than later and this figure will come out in a future legends wave.

True and like I said earlier in the thread it wouldn’t be as big of a deal if the Basics were in scale with his Elites but the B62 Starrcade ‘90 neon green and all Basic Crow Sting figures are grossly shorter than the Elites. Bret is another who’s basics besides the RRH are grossly shorter than his Elites. I had taken fresh out of box pics of the scale of them in the past but Tiny Pic where I had them is gone. So here’s a new pic, but keep in mind it should be even worse of a difference because I raised the heads on the basics by putting cotton inside the hole in the head. Here’s a pic I had posted back then

Totally sucks about Sting but I heard that UE 7 Hollywood Hogan is due to be released by RSC around November/December.
