match 2: jurassic (lucha) express gets my vote here. mainly because they're actually entertaining, and fun to watch... unlike ftr. match 3: young bucks. i like tbatb and all, but young bucks are too op to lose to them. great pick for lk3 as yb def have potential to win this whole damn thing imo. match 4: my vote doesn't count here, but i mean come on. best friends have already beaten lucha bros in their first match against each other back in 2019. and best friends is arguably the top tag team in the company besides not being champs (yet). they're consistently higher up in the tag team rankings, and bonafide badasses after that parking lot match. lucha bros haven't even been relevant for months.  |

that's it for week one, folks. the scores were 4 to 2 jurassic express, 3 to 2 young bucks, and 3 to 2 lucha bros. ftr, butcher and blade, and best friends are eliminated. the tag team semi final matches will be:

Match 1: Thunder Rosa put up a hell of a fight, but she seemed a little lackluster in the ring. Maybe she's thinking about wrestling somewhere else? Regardless, Shida throws a few BRUTAL running knees her way to seal the deal. WINNER: Hikaru Shida
Match 2: Statlander comes down to the ring with Cody Rhodes and the Lucha Bros behind her. No intro music. These 4 are deadly serious. Statlander/Penta/Fenix are all wearing matching colorway gear (a colorful combination and swirl of dark blue, black, purple, and pink). Kris grabs a mic and cuts a promo saying there's no one ON THIS PLANET who can beat her. She runs down the 6 other women and says the only person she's interested in facing is Shida. She hands it over to Fenix who says that he and his brother are the top tag team IN THE WORLD and that there is no one in the Fall Brawl who frightens them. Pentagon gets the mic and screams "Cero Miedo". Cody's up next and damn he's looking good in his dark tailored suit. Rhodes says he has no idea who he'll be facing in his first round matchup, but it doesn't matter who's in the opposite corner. Nobody ON EARTH works harder and want's the Fall Brawl trophy more than he does. Cody says "You're looking at the most dominant 4 wrestlers in AEW. You're looking at the unstoppable Guardians of the AEW Galaxy. You're looking at the newest and greatest faction. OBSIDIAN". Instead of Cody's music, the four hype up the crowd and pose with fans while INTERGALACTIC by the Beastie Boys plays them to the back.

Match 1: Pissed off at all the rumours of her leaving to the land of sports entertainers, Rosa is fighting with a humongous chip on her shoulder. It's a tight battle, Shida being fed up with being an afterthought of the bookers, but in the end the fire of the rumour mill outweighs the spirit crushing nature of being an afterthought. I'll take Thunder Rosa for this one. THUNDER ROSA
Match 2:
Statlander, thrilled to be back from injury, comes out booping the entire audience. Convinced her no-show opponent is a mysterious invisible alien from another galaxy, Statlander wrestles the invisible opponent, picking up a handy victory. Poor Rick Knox had no idea when to count to 3.
Match 3: It's close to Halloween, and the Bunnie is channeling her inner undead Allie in this one. The Doctor attempts the lockjaw, only to find out that dead people don't hurt the same as living ones. Allie scoops up the underdog win through an unexpected rollup while Brit is fiddling with her lockjaw glove, to set up a thrilling clash of the undead monsters. ALLIE
Match 4: I can't vote, but if the undead vs. undead prophecy is to be fulfilled, Abadon is gonna have to scoop up the W here.

match one: rosa is tight and all but any match with shida bae in it doesn't need my expert opinion. she should ALWAYS win. match two: i'll see you again next week Yambag Jones to get even with you. then if all the stars in the galaxy align just right, pac will see cody in the men's finals and shoot him back down to reality with a black arrow.  match three: nothing stellar here, but britt continues to get better with each match. allie got a fair amount of offense in, but britt put a stop to all that when she forced allie to tap to the lockjaw. match four: brandi ain't putting herself over in this thread. abadon wins in a quick squash. |
