Basics help run the business so I can get sweet Ultimate Edition figures. Mattel/WWE is a massive business that caters to many audiences, not just collectors, and basics help carry that through.

Basically Heads...like I wanted the short hair flair from the BP but wasn't paying bp price for it.
I got the Andre basic because it was excellent..but he's an exception to the proceedings really.
Have loads of basics in my collection though. Chris Masters etc

I only buy legends and managers/backstage people that probably wont end up getting an elite. I only display so the lack of articulation doesn't bother me.

If I was in the 10-14 age range, I'd honestly be buying a ton of basics.
They are cheap and plentiful and you get a very large selection of stars.
The articulation isn't all that much different than the old RA figures which I did my fed with way back in the day.
There is definitely a place in the market for them (given how they still exist) despite most collectors on this board turning their noses up at them.
The only basic I have bought since the articulation change was Basic 100 HBK because that's like the only way to get a Mattel Ruthless Aggression era HBK. Still baffles me.

Ruthless Aggression figures actually move when you try to play with them

I get them and have little problems with them, I like having both in my collection especially guys that elites are overly expensive like Gargano

It used to be a way to swap arms and head scans.
Now: Statues
