Maybe Sabu sold better numbers than Dino; so maybe he’s moving away from oldskool WWF guys to ECW guys as there’s a better market? 🤷🏻♂️

If you look at the collectors that are looking at these, it's Hasbro collectors that these are aimed at primarily. New school collectors yes, but the aim has to be at Hasbro collectors. If you could make a mix of old school and ECW then I'd say that's the best idea. A lot of collectors will be looking at this line as a chance to get some of the guys (and gals, hopefully) that Hasbro didn't make and they can add them into their collection as the missing pieces of the Hasbro line. I think that mix is gonna be the key. If it ends up being an ECW line then I don't think it'll do as well. Chellla have the mix right at the moment, in my opinion. Hopefully ZST can keep it up with the older wrestlers that collectors still want.

Way too many signings without having a single fig in collectors hands imo I counted 19 announced not including ones that have actually gone on sale. That’s surely two years worth of figures. I wonder how they can afford to sign all these guys with out any income coming in

I don’t know deals of contracts, but I’m sure a contract with zombie is just a percentage of what is sold (when the item sells). I don’t believe he’s fronting money upfront signing these people, if anything at most it’s $500 signing bonus plus a percentage. It’s not as expensive as everyone is making out to be. Also I think starting at series 2 he is releasing 6 figures per set. In theory he could release 1 set a quarter, plus 1 2 pack and 1 sdcc exclusive. He could have 27 figures out within 1 year.

Yep. I really don't think he is a nice person -- but you gotta admire that he's going all in, and risking all this money on his idea...

But (at what $40 a figure?) who’s going to pay just under $1,100 for essentially a set of nice customs - excluding any further comic con etc exclusives etc he might do

I think chella have done great, especially since a certain influencer promotes heels and faces a lot more.
Example:
“Chella showed us nova, I don’t like it” only to be shut down because the figure is accurate which said influencer was debating trying to make out the colours were wrong.
Next breath
“Zombie showed he had signed Tajiri - I love zombie he’s such a hustler in a good way”
Nothing like objectivity hey?

They are obviously going to show bias towards zombie because that’s there friend. However if you listen to what Matt (who isn’t a big ECW fan) said he doesn’t remember him wearing yellow(because Matt was used to his WWE look), Brian corrected him and said that the yellow was what he wore primarily in ECW, and that the figure looked awesome. In the same breath Matt also said that Zombie should stop signing people and just put out a product. As far as price, I’m paying $35 shipped each chella vs $44 shipped each zombie, not that drastic of a difference. I genuinely like both lines I wish zombies were released quicker. I wish chella would group there series together (so I could save on shipping)

While Bryan corrected matt straight away matt repeated his view 2 or 3 times before conceding to Bryan’s superior ecw knowledge

Who out of ecw is really left between both heels and faces and chella to have a really good roster?
Funk - not had a fig for ages
Dreamer - not had a fig for ages - not sure what impacts licensing agreements are like or if they own IP? I recall a while back they said people could own their own gimmick and IP?
Sandman - have we seen a sandman? Can’t recall if heels and faces have him?
Super crazy, the franchise, Lance storm, Justin credible
FBI
I think with most already revealed and the few above that would be a pretty comprehensive ecw roster?

Terry Funk would be a huge signing for either company. That would be the icing on the cake if Chella got it, but I can see Zombie going all out for that one. I'd love a retro Funk, so it would be a massive signing for whoever gets it.

His last figure (excluding the brawler) was the mattel with red and black tights I think which must’ve been a good 6 years ago now?

Really shame Taz is signed to AEW. Think Chella would kill an ECW Taz.

Yikes! And series 1 not out til Feb 2022 so even if he does a release per quarter that’s signings up to 2024 without him signing anyone else

Mattel are releasing Chainsaw Charlie soon, so I expect Funk has a WWE legends deal to make that happen.
But there are different degrees of legends deals, so maybe he has a freer one like Bret Hart apparently does to appear on PWT for example.

Probably with all the $ that the marks have been shelling out on all those ‘case fresh’ toys over the years 😂 I will say that anyone who bought case fresh figures from him before prices went crazy in 2020 are sitting on some valuable pieces now. Some MOC TMNT I got from him are worth a lot more. I don't even want to think the current value on the MOC Hasbros he sold.

I actually think Gangrel is a bigger get than Terry Funk.
I was so surprised (but happy) that Chella got him over Zombie, since Gangrel has done Major Pod shows.
I wonder how Chella was able to swing it...
