How would you like to see UE Sgt Slaughter rereleased?

Fast forward to two years from now when UE Sarge is the Ultimate Legend release and everyone complains because it’s a repaint.

Cant see why it would suck to rerelease this? I have personally never cared if someone else had the same toy as long as I was happy to have one for my collection. I am not competing against fellow collectors as much as I'm hoping Mattel recognizes that my spot should count. It is hard to be a fan when you have to pay a 100 dollars on ebay for a current action figure. I get the whole argument that its a special exclusive but maybe not use main characters. Sgt Slaughter, Hulk Hogan and Jeff Hardy are all major stars and 2 that transcend wrestling. These are not shelfwarmers by any means. I could have seen the Goon, Young Dominik or the Booty Man easily as an exclusive. Hasbro rereleases the majority of their Star wars and transformers exclusives with just different packaging and accessories and that does not hurt their line. In fact I think it helps as it cuts down on scalpers and more fans can collect because they can find the product. Now I'm not saying Hasbro doesn't make things difficult ex. Gi Joe. But their movie line, retro line, classified line and majority of the non target figures can be found online with more ease and a bigger window of 2-3 mins. I get it sometimes not everyone can get everything but the majority I think should at least have a shot.

I’d like for them to make ALL SDCC exclusives 24 hour pre-order models. This 30 second sellout thing is trash, and I’m tired of the “it’s part of the game” excuse. “That’s the way it’s always been done” is the worst reason to do something. If that’s the game, then fix the game.

I don't think any figures should be rereleased. If they do another UE Sarge, it should be a different attire.

The people saying it’s supposed to be limited are really just drinking the kool-aid. Limited yes, nearly impossible to get, no. TONS of people were ready as soon as it went live and still didn’t get a shot at it. Make a pre-order windows, and you’ve still got a limited SDCC Exclusive.

I think they'd be slow to straight rerelease as people who bought might be put out (and face more backlash) but I'd imagine a very similar fig in normal packaging would keep most people happy.

Most of my interest comes from the LJN themed packaging and the fig being an LJN/Hasbro remake. So my only interest would be if it was a straight re-release. Or ya know just make more available

The issue with a straight 24 hour pre-order, is production lead times. To do a 24 hour window where everyone can order whatever they want, that would mean Mattel can’t produce the figure until after the order period is closed. That would mean it would likely be 6 months or more before we have the product in hand.

I like what Hasbro did last year with their PulseCon exclusives. They produced a limited quantity for the con. People that were able to order, got their stuff within like a month or so because it was already produced. Then, the next day, they opened up a 24 or 48 preorder window like is being suggested. So for example, I was able to get the Ghostbusters exclusive on the first go and got the set really quick. I got the Hellfire Club and the Star Wars sets on the 2nd chance and got them like a year later. Same with Mezco’s Vapor figure. Myself and many others got the figure on the initial offering. We all have the figure now and are posting photos and Mezco is getting good looks. The people that missed out were able to get on an open preorder and they’ll have the figure next year. Same with NECA and their Target Turtles. I can’t find them anywhere near me. I order when when they do their 10 day preorder windows. I like knowing I’ll get the figures, but I also know it’s probably gonna be a year before I see them.

I like the open preorder idea, but I do think there should be a first round of stock. Also, if you are on the fence about a preorder, you could see reviews of the figures and see what you like or don’t like before you put in an order.

I feel like the only people who would not want a straight up rerelease are the ones who plan to sell theirs or just need the feeling of owning something that no-one else can lol.
