Confidence Level of the New Generation Ring getting to 5K

Yeah, there's really no gray area here.  There's a pretty established pathway to successful campaigns, and some corporate suit at Mattel decided to get cute and put their own spin on things.

There's absolutely a psychology to these projects.  People like to back a "winner."  There's a non-insignificant number of buyers who looked at it this weekend, saw it was at 10-15%, assumed it won't get funded, and will never check back.  Those same people, if they saw it at a higher number because people weren't waiting til the last minute, may have committed to buy, put in payment, and won't give it a second thought until a year from now when the item arrives.

Maybe that number is 100, or 200, or 500 orders.  But that number may be the difference between this campaign getting funded or not.  I honestly don't see where there's debate here.  Mattel shot themselves in the foot here to eek out a little extra liquidity for 30 days.  The question is just whether it derails this really awesome set from being made, or if it's just a moderate inconvenience.

You would have already reached your goal.

There is no other excuse. Not in terms of the value of the items offered, not the choice of items. I dare say this would already have hit 5000 backers had Mattel not been greedy with taking payments prior to the conclusion.

The fact this doesn't hit every stretch goal it is 1000% on Mattel's very poor decision making. I highly doubt they'll take accountability, either.

Pretty safe bet it will go up in value just because people go nuts over the word exclusive. But the way I see it, if this gets funded, it covers Mattel’s tooling costs. They’ll then try to maximize profits off those molds. So we’ll get another ring from a different era, probably less expensive. We’ll probably get another Ultimate Diesel in better attire too.

No sure why Steve couldn’t ask us what we’d like to see in a project. Assuming gets you nowhere.

Nothing has a better turn around value over time like wrestlers do. If somebody WAS looking to scalp something, I would say it’s pretty cut and dry that wrestlers have the best resell value over a short period of time. And they pretty much retain that value or go up as time goes on. But yea, it’s a pretty safe bet that if you were to hold onto it for a year or so, it’ll be worth a good amount of change.
