Looking at the number of backers (I'm one of them), it's going to be a long waiting month...

We have an entire thread on this already, most firmly expressing either their disinterest or lack of confidence in this project.

I’d love for it to hit the 5k mark, but I’m just but confident in it. Everyone was excited when it was first shown and the price was announced but suddenly everything changed. Seems like the negativity began to rub off from other and the project had taken a hit - perhaps to the fact that money is being collected up front. Who knows. I hope to see a surge in backers throughout the month and hopefully even unlock Doink, but I’m not going to get to confident about that. Time will tell. I voted no because with don’t see it passing that threshold, but my heart wants it to be a yes.

I don’t think it’ll get there. I didn’t back it, not paying $200 + to commemorate the first time wrestling died. But I hope it does make it because it could open the door for other cool things in the future.

Id love for it to hit the 5k mark personally. I was not/am not one of the backers unfortunately because I have no interest in it especially for 250 I don't have right now, but id be very curious to see what future items this idea could generate. Not to be pessimistic here but id like to think they'll get a few more folks closer to the deadline but it feels like an overwhelming task to get 5 times the amount of backers they have now in a month.

No, it's too expensive for most collectors and one of the least popular eras in WWF/E history. Are there any other cases of failed action figure crowd funding projects?

I don't know if I want to keep supporting the ultimates if they are so hard to get. Figures that Many fans want ex. UE Hulk, Slaughter, Hardy sell out in 3 mins. Its hard enough to get many of the elites.

If it was a major first time in the line or a really distinct sought after look, I'd be more interested. Never need a ring as a display-only collector. Plus new generation is rough. Only slight nostalgia for me.

I would be extremely shocked if this hit 5k backers.

I'll be backing it on Wednesday when I get paid, but at the moment? No, I don't think it's going to reach 5,000. Which is such a shame, but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that we get a flurry of backers in the next 27 days.

No, it's too expensive for most collectors and one of the least popular eras in WWF/E history. Are there any other cases of failed action figure crowd funding projects? Back then, yes. Nostalgia is what gets it. Someone in there mid-30's probably looks back at this time with fondness. I used mid-30's as an example because everyone's favorite figure podcast guys are in that range and I'd imagine there audience is probably the same age. So they were like 9-10 years old when this was happening.

Here's the thing ... I love the ENTRANCE! I love the Doink, but I simply have supported Mattel & Jakks on more rings than I have room for. I am a long time collector and HOPE the newer collectors make this so. The best way to do this is being positive. I have 2 Marvel Legend Galactus's maybe 3. But 2 for sure. They look good ... and although I really like the new one the best ... I already have two that work. So I want to support Hasbro too ... but I have to be realistic at some point. So in listening to Steve it sounds they are looking at every variable possible with price points and things in mind and I applaud that. Not knowing what they know ... and that is a LOT ... . It seems to ME ... that the best way to crowd fund for something is for something nobody has. That brings old collectors and new collectors in the game. I HOPE people do it. I am almost tempted to do it just becauseI want to support ... but I have done that way tooo many times before and simply nowhere to put the ring.

Not backing it till the last few days if it needs to be pushed over.
No way I'm giving mattel a loan. A multi billion dollar company.
Still waiting for Sam Roberts to purchase his 4k.

I watched all the New Generation stuff for the first time this year and it aged better than most of the Attitude Era and almost all of WCW post 1993. I love it. I’m hoping it makes it.

I'd say it's chances are at about 35% right now. The issues why it might not have been discussed ad nauseam by myself and others, so I won't repeat again here. That said, I think the closer we get, the more sustained promotional push we'll see from Mattel as well as influencers, plus dealers/toy stores/etc. buying in a bit of bulk. Also, FWIW, I think it's crazy for people to expect big ticket wrestling items to be backed at the same speed as Star Wars or Marvel. I truly feel that IF this crosses $5k, and in-turn IF we get more crowdfunded WWE products at this scale, all of which will come a bit down to the wire.

Where I stand: I loved the New Gen era. As a kid, the goofy gimmicks and colorful outfits had me hooked. I recently downsized my collection significantly and only focus on UE flashbacks/legends that I have interest in, and honestly the only thing I'd probably end up keeping is the entrance stage (and Doink it if hit that tier) for display. I have no need/room for a scale ring or ring skirts, and Diesel wouldn't be on my list of must haves for a Legends UE. All that being said, I DO think it will hit at least 5,000, since I think it will be very backloaded with backers waiting to invest until the end, and I would probably back it if 1. It needed the extra push toward the end, more-so to invest in the future of Mattel/WWE crowdfunding projects or 2. If the Doink was a guarantee.

If it had the doink upfront included I would definitely get it, but I’m not really interested in it

I would only back it if I were confident we would unlock Doink, but I’m not confident. To me, the value absolutely requires Doink to be included.
We’ll see closer to the time what number we’re at.

Answering this question is based on opinion. No one knows for sure if this will hit 5k or not. It might hit 20k or it may not even hit 1k, who knows.
I’m sure RSC will buy some if they haven’t already. Plus, some mom & pop toy stores may buy some as well.
There’s 27 days left. Yes it’s only at 16% right now, however, there’s still time left for people to think about it, see how it’s doing, and/or gather funds.
Give it time people. You’re acting like it ends tomorrow and only has 16%.

i really think it could go either way. it seems a lot of people are waiting until the end of the campaign to make a decision. i wouldn't be surprised if there was a last minute surge and it does get backed very late.
