More puzzling, they rarely make ANY 1996 Shawn Michaels and IMO that’s his hallmark year as a performer. We don’t get very much from ‘96 at all honesty and that’s one of my favorite years of WWF.

More puzzling, they rarely make ANY 1996 Shawn Michaels and IMO that’s his hallmark year as a performer. We don’t get very much from ‘96 at all honesty and that’s one of my favorite years of WWF. did they ever do his attire vs sid @ rumble 97? |

View Attachmentsuper weird, there should be a lot more shawns In all fairness, he has a TON of figs, I think I may have more Shawns than anybody else in my collection (it would be close with Warrior & The Hitman), but some of the exclusions are questionable. His ‘96 attires are among his best, truth be told though, they don’t make hardly anything he wore from 94 through 97, he’s at least gotten a few attires from ‘98. And I think the only return attires they’ve made from 2002 were the basics in the red and the chase variant that was Royal Rumble 2003. I’d love some of those ugly Shawn attires from his return in 2002, and I’m surprised we’ve never gotten him in the tank top and jeans from his match with HHH in a Summerslam wave. (I’d also mark out for an nWo HBK) |

Not a fan of Shawn in the chaps wrestling attire from the RA era. I do wish they would make some more figures of some of his attires from 1995-1997. There are probably 5 or 6 attires from that time period I would like.
Dustin Rhodes comes to mind. They had Goldust under contract for years and never made one. The same was said about Stunning Steve Austin until they finally made one this past year. It also took them a long time to get out a 1996 Ultimate Warrior - still only have one of those.
Lex Luger also comes to mind. He had a lot of colorful looks from his early WCW days and we haven't gotten one of those attires. And we have only had 1 WCW attire and he came with face paint, and they gave him the wrong boots.
I know a lot of people have been begging for a "Hulk Still Rules" Hogan figure. Not sure if the upcoming one from SSL2005 counts.
We've yet to get a WCW era Ravishing Rick Rude or Ricky Steamboat.

I wouldn't call it bias, I'm not about to call anyone out for their figmaking choices, but as many people here have already stated, there are two big points in attire choices which make me curious.
1. The lack of RA attires in general and especially the lack of RA HBKs. The Ruthless Aggression era seems to me like a huge spot of neglect for Mattel. There's just so much untapped potential here it seems very odd that they've never really gone after it.
2. I understand patriotism but some of the USA themed attires are... strange picks. Like, GAB Sting? Great choice. That one is fully warranted. USA New Day? Ehhh, ok. Interesting choice for a matched set but a bit troubling in that we got that one rather than the Pink/Blue that we all wanted (and never truly got). But USA Ryder? I am so dang confused. Why was that the Elite Zack Ryder that we got? I've never seen him as the mascot-type why was that the Elite we got? Again, not trying to be rude, it just seems confusing in retrospect because we never got another.

I have never seen that, I loved that HBK sculpt back in the day too but I had the zebra pants one. What’s funny about that HBK sculpt is that if someone was to stumble on it today, they’d think he was in his RA attire back in 2000. It’s like a time jump |

Pretty sure they’ve made more RA figs over the last couple years than any other past generation. People keep saying Mattel refuses to make RA and others believe it even tho the evidence proves otherwise.

BIAS! 😆 That was awesome, but he had a valid reason not to make CM yank. Bill said it made no sense for an athlete who was so associated with Chicago to have a figure of him in NY Yankees attire. |

Not sure if the upcoming one from SSL2005 counts.] Funny enough the night or the reveals, I had a very believable dream that Shawn in his black/white pants from SS2005 was part of the slideshow I looked at on wwe.com and shown right after the Hogan figure. In the dream I casually went back to look at the reveals again and literally the only difference was a render of that HBK was slipped in with a soft goods entrance shirt right after Hulk. So for a full 2-3 days I legitimately believed we were getting both Hulk and HBK from the SS match and was so incredibly excited. Wasn’t until a couple days after I went to go look at the reveals again and realized it was a dream 😭 |
