I felt they jumped the shark with that main event. Nick Gage and the whole death match style/brutality has no business being shown on tv. There’s one thing to have some color, but not what they did. It’s not needed nor should it be wanted in this day and age. They shouldn’t be celebrating/promoting that style of wrestling they should be trying to do away with it.

AEW isn’t at fault here with the Dominoes spot. They don’t have control over what ads play when. TNT/TBS needs to be more careful moving forward. Anyone calling for Domino’s to drop their sponsorship is a weirdo, but if I’m Domino’s PR I’m not happy with that spot. I don’t think I’d refuse to pull my ads though
Ultimately, TK might need to ease up on too much blood on Dynamite. I like that he wants to have hardcore matches in his promotion, but it’s probably better suited for YouTube and PPV.

I thought the risk wasn't worth the investment, especially on TV. Could have had a more "traditional" hardcore match and gotten a similar payoff.

honestly, deathmatch wrestling is something that only exists because it’s underground. if it was to go any more main stream than it is, it could have ramifications on the wrestling business as a whole in terms of licenses and liability.
what other licensed crowd environment lets you be exposed to blood, glass, fire, etc?
I don’t hate the stuff, but for wrestling’s sake, keep it off AEW IMO.

Does Dominos even appeal to the demo AEW aims to grow? I’m 30 and Dominos is one of the last things me and my friends ever suggest when deciding on what to eat.
Sure, loosing sponsors, even one, is never a good thing, but I’m sure with AEWs growing popularity that there’s other companies that would gladly pay for those advertising spots. In the end I feel like this comes off as more of a overreaction on Dominos part than any real backlash towards AEW.

I’m not concerned with Dynamite losing Domino’s. I just hope Gage doesn’t lose his job delivering for Domino’s

Lmao the more I read about this dominoes "story" the funnier it gets. Pizzagate2021. All in all its much ado about nothing, but man is the stuff going on funny. When I get to the computer instead of my phone I'll put up a summary.

It wouldn’t be a wrestling story if it didn’t involve conspiracy theories, taking things to a different level than it needed to be, and beating a dead horse. Hilarious though.

So essentially here's the funny stuff I found:
The guy who 'broke' the dominoes story has posted literally nothing else ever about AEW. Somehow this was his first AEW story.
Dominoes response where they 'threatened to pull their ads' was: "We share the concerns expressed about this incident and the content of this TV-14 rated program, and are assessing our advertising presence on it going forward". That might be the most typical 'form' response I've ever seen. Didn't even bother to name the program. Something tells me we'll continue to see Dominoes ads, despite Pabst's best efforts.
via babyface vs. heel: Allegedly a 'mainstream' reporter reached out to them to say that WWE had contacted them trying to get them to run an AEW/Dominoes story.
Voices of wrestling is corroborating that WWE is calling a bunch of mainstream journalists trying to get them to pick up the story. Meltzer also strongly hinted at it in his newsletter this week.
All in all it's a total non-story, Dominoes isn't going anywhere, but man are the stories coming out hilarious. This is the wrestling equivalent of passing notes in middle school and I'm dying laughing at all of it.

It would be funny to prank Stamford HQ by sending them hundreds of Domino's pizzas, old school.

On another note:
Serena Deeb cut a killer promo on her instagram, albeit bittersweet. She's still recovering from that knee surgery. Was never back to 100% and came back to the ring too early so she's back on the injury shelf. Her caption makes it clear she's targeting the battle royal at All Out as her return date, but I really hope she'll hold off if she's not 100%. This doesn't explain others being mia i.e. Riho who now lives in the states, but it does explain why we haven't been seeing Deeb lately.

I'm sure Domino's will at least make an appearance on BTE.

So sick of seeing female jobbers when there are really talented women on the roster. She’s needed so bad right now

I wouldn't be surprised if any of that was true. Given the fan mentality I also wouldn't be surprised if it was WWE viewers taking to social media to try to "spread the word." WWE and fans fear AEW whether they want admit it or not.
I'm actually more annoyed by the outrage from AEW fans. What's the problem here? AEW isn't turning into CZW. MJF is a great heel and he's trying to destroy Chris Jericho mentally and physically. This was a great way to accomplish that.
A match like that is probably better suited on a PPV because it should be apart of a special show, not because it's too violent for tv. Timing and logistics won't allow that to happen though. Oh well... Jericho won, but he'll "never be the same" after something like that. He had the stadium brawl. He was thrown off the cage. But those are a walk in the park on a sunny day compared to a death match with Nick Gage. That plays into the handbook of a piece of sh*t scumbag heel like MJF to a tee.
If Jericho comes out next week selling like he's half dead it will have been a fantastic addition to the "labors" story. If he no sells than it will have made no sense.
The fact that MJF said Jericho has to win with a top rope finisher against The Juice intrigues me. Is Jericho going to finish Juvi with a 450 splash?

If you’re a wrestling business dork like me, keep an eye on this account: Sell out in sub 5 minutes Well I was pretty close, it took 10 minutes.
