Last night I think is where the tide is going to turn in terms of AEW overtaking WWE in the ratings,probably before the year is even out.Adding CM Punk is a huge get,probably the biggest signing they could make in terms of star power and a wrestler who's still in his prime or close to it and someone that is willing to wrestling more then a handful of times per year.
You add him to the mix plus Daniel Bryan,Ric Flair and possibly Adam Cole & or Brock Lesnar and its clear to me that overall AEW has more star power and more interesting matches and feuds then what the current WWE can produce.
I really hope that with Punk joining AEW and the other talents on the way that WWE finally gets their heads out of their asses and tries to put forth and effort and turn the product of the company around.
As a wrestling fan would love to see a true war between WWE & AEW with both companies firing on all cylinders.

These guys are on Wednesday nights, this won’t effect RAW.
Rampage comes on for 1 hour AFTER SmackDown goes off the air, this won’t effect SmackDown.
This will not effect the WWE. Unless they ever end up head to head.

That would heavily involve de-pushing Roman Reigns which simply isn't going to happen. I agree that the addition of Punk & American Dragon Bryan Danielson could definitely tip the scales in AEW's favor. It certainly has me much more interested in AEW than WWE. |

But I wouldn’t expect them to improve their product any time soon. They got their contracts with FOX, USA, and NBC. Until those are set to expire Vince will just sit back and keep burying his company deeper into the ground. |

I waited a couple days to let it sink in and think about it and honestly this is how I feel about Punk returning to wrestling. Although he was never a favorite of mine I did enjoy most of his work. That said him coming back now I just didn’t/don’t care. He’s been gone for so long I realize I wasn’t missing him. It’s going to be just like Edge coming back to the WWE where I care for maybe the first two matches and then after that I will lose interest again.

Still waiting on American ratings, but the Canadian ratings for this episode were really strong. Equivalent of a strong Dynamite episode on TSN aired with a 1 hour delay. (I definitely did not wait that extra hour, I streamed it live through Direct).
