I hate scalpers ... I really really do ... Just enjoy the damn things for what they are and not the value ... is that so hard to do these days ? The people that want to have them for the sake of having them in their collection have to constantly deal with the bull$hit of people worrying about which ones they can flip ... and the ones that are flipping them don’t even care about them, they just want to make it harder for someone else that actually does want it ... it’s pathetic. I loathe scalpers as much as anyone else, but this set is a little different, IMO. It had unlimited stock, and everyone knew the window of availability and could have bought as many as they wanted. I'd personally say that by the time this ships, it's no different than selling a figure that was released a year ago.

It shocks me that anyone could think an online exclusive Ultimate Edition limited to around 8k is going to sell for $75... This right here. The one thing many don’t take into account is the fact that these are being produced in much smaller quantities than the figures we see in stores. Mattel will not be making more of these guys in these exact outfits, and I’m sure there were plenty that didn’t have the funds during the pledge time frame to get them. Just as an example, a couple years ago Hasbro made a crowdfunding figure of Unicron, a Transformer the size of a toddler. The cost was $600. A couple online stores got a dozen or so and sold them for just over $800 after the pledge was finished, and they sold out within a couple days. The cheapest you can get one BIN on eBay is $1750. There’s an auction that ends in 3 days that’s about $1100 with $152 shipping.

I've never sold more than a handful of figures in my life, new or old. But I had zero qualms about buying multiple with the intention to split it up and resell. Even if I sold for 75% of what I expect market rate will be, I think I'll easily be able to cover my costs plus the set I'm keeping. Even if I only sell the one I bought at cost, it helped unlock Doink and the skirts for the entire collecting community. It was an unlimited item with a pretty good sales window. Anybody who wanted it had ample opportunity, and there was a built in incentive to buy multiple so I don't really have an issue with those who bought and will resell. If we were only looking at single purchase buyers, this set most likely doesn't exist.

You can care about what you’re buying, yet know the value of what you bought and willing to part ways for the right price. Say if you were in a real penny pinch and were forced to sell one of these things to pay some bills, would that make you pathetic? For this particular set, people had an ample amount of time to back it. If they have a problem with what the secondary market or as you say scalers sell it, that’s their problem. Why would any smart human being sell this for what they bought it for? I just don’t see the logic here. Pretty sure my post was about people just buying something to make a profit ... it said nothing about if you HAD to sale if something came up, as in that casenit should be pretty much common sense in at least not selling for anything less than what you paid for it. So, that doesn’t even apply here ... this is talking specifically about this funded project. The bottom line is people that buy this stuff to purposely drive up the resale market are losers and need to get a life. I’m the “loser” that bought 10 sets Stay 😠 ,I stay winning 🥇

They will be valued at whatever the MajorPod tells their fan bois to bid. It’s a major mark Ponzi scheme where they are just paying each other with their own investments in the hope that an outsider will cough up some dough here and there.
Collect what you want to own and display not because a podcast tells you about secondary market increases.

An online retailer (not RSC) listed Doink and Diesel (they may have had Macho - but I didn’t see it) they had them listed at $119.99 each, the ring at $89.99 and stage at $99.99. Im guessing them sold through what they had cause they don’t have them listed any more…
I figure first 6 months the prices will go up and down.. I’d estimate the following.
Macho $150 - $175 Diesel $100 - $130 Doink $120 - $150 Ring $75 - $100 Stage $100ish
If/when the next crowd funding hits and is compatible with this ring, it will likely escalate the ring higher.

If we were only looking at single purchase buyers, this set most likely doesn't exist. I'm not ashamed to say that I bought two with the intention of selling one down the line to pay for both. When I bought mine, it was looking pretty unlikely that the project was going to get funded, so I did my part. This set owes its existence to people buying multiples in hopes of pushing it into production, and everyone had a fair shot at it. It's much more akin to holding on to a figure until it generates value than it is to clearing out all of Target's Legends figures at 8 AM and throwing them right on eBay.

My guesses
Macho - $150+ Doink - $100-$120 Diesel - $100ish
And that’s at first. There’s ultimates out there going for more and they made way more than 8k of them
Give it time and Macho will be hovering around $250+
IMO

Wait a minute..... Now it's about that time I noticed this rkmo was about eight stories tall and was a crustacean from the protozoic era.

I collected what I wanted, not for profit. The hobby has quickly becomes nothing but loser scalpers trying to make money offf people that cant find something in stores.

You cannot by definition scalp an item that had no production limit. 7 billion of these things could have been made. Everyone had an equal chance to buy one, or fifty, regardless of location.
This isn’t going into target and buying up every case of legends to create artificial scarcity so you can drive costs up on eBay. This was seeing an extremely good opportunity to grab a few extra extremely limited figures that will appreciate in value over the years, to the detriment of nobody else, and to the benefit of not only your finances, but every other person who backed (more backers meant more stuff for everyone).
These figs will be the hasbro mail always of the modern age in years to come.

I'm interested in the stage but I'm not going higher than $100 for it.

There's two things -- estimated value, and what they can actually sell for based on the demand out there...

What about the estimated value of SDCC Slaughter? I would guess the regular one $75 - $100? and the chase $130 - $150?

So, I guess if you make a large slow profit you are BY DEFINITION not scalping. Who knew?

What about the estimated value of SDCC Slaughter? I would guess the regular one $75 - $100? and the chase $130 - $150? Mark my words. The Black Card Slaughter will SELL for over $300. If Steve says it is very rare and you would be lucky to get it, then the price will be very high

The answer is the same as to why AEW chase figures are going from anywhere from $200- $2000 plus. Whatever anybody is willing to pay for them is what they will be worth.
