Hey Guys
Just seeing if anyone else feels this way of late but there seems to be a lack of hype and new fresh FTITL figs recently. With AEW now signing Owen Hart im sure more legends may sign with them. I know we all know the process Mattel has to go through with WWE for legends contracts etc but apart from Hulk Hogan back in the line there is no other real name to get super hyped by.
We are also getting half tag teams where it seems we will never get that other half. The Rockers Shawn retrofest fig we will never get the Marty with him The Davey Boy Smith British Bulldog fig we will not get Dynamite Kid. POP Barbarian not looking good here too.
I know AFA Steve is here trying to engage with fans of this great line but I feel the spark has gone from the line. We all know the names we want and could be added but instead we are seeing repetitive line ups especially with the Legends line.
I love this line have spent a small fortune on figs over the years and continue to do so but we need some fresh names especially legends in the line.
Not trying to be negative here but maybe Mattel can hype the line a bit more make more announcements instead of the typical wait and see mentality as fans we know the time lines to wait for figs. We all as a community just backed a project 1 year out. Make announcements of new figs on the way more we dont even need images of attires just say Jeff Jarrett will be in line 2022 etc
Anyway rant over. Just want to get excited by the line again.

Mattel can only make whoever is signed up to be made. What could help and is starting to become clear and happening a bit more often lately is Bill could make the attires everyone wants instead of his personal favourite obscure ones. I think they need to lean into legends and the RA era a bit more in the main elite line instead of for store exclusives and 4 fig lines.

Think we all know the process of who is signed to legends deals. Mattel need to work more with WWE to get more names into line and hyping names up so we can be excited. Totally agree more RA era need to be added same for New Gen era with the arena on the way more figs are needed here. When you see other companies able to get Jeff Jarret into their lines and even Dino Bravo WWE are not helping it seems. I know there is a thread about this too.

Totally agree... I'm only really collecting the Ultimate Edition legends now (aside from occasional Elite figures like the new Hogans).
I don't really think it's Mattel’s fault though... they can only make who WWE say/want - and after 11 years of having the licence, it's bound to be getting a bit stale.

Even with the line 11 years old and WWE not providing available talent Mattel like making money so not sure why they are not hyping the line much more unless they are too big to care or we were just spoiled by Jeremy and the Jakks line with announcements every other week.
Just want to have new names to look forward to for future line ups.
Molly Holly, Bob Holly, Crash Holly, Grandmaster Sexy, Gangrel, Zeus, The Patriot, Steiner Bros, New Demolition Figs, One Man Gang, Dino Bravo, Jeff Jarrett, Legion of Doom figs, Texas Tornado new figs, Kaientai (would love these "Indeed") so many possible names they could bring to the line. Just hype it a bit.

In the middle of selling my post 2001 collection. Its been on my mind for at least the past year. It feels like a weight has been lifted. Currently have 6 active 'the bay' listings left and thats me done. Sold 4 crates of figures total. Still excited for upcoming Flashbacks, though!

I’m all but out on the elite line now (been out on on basics for years)… was trying to collect all the new Legends, but that got too expensive as an international collector. I’m all in on the Ultimates line (they nearly lost me with the Sgt debacle) and I look forward to more releases. Ringside fest is coming up soon, I’m sure we’ll see some great stuff to get everyone going again… (PS… I barely know any of the newer wrestlers as I really don’t watch the current product, don’t think that helps much… Mattel needs an injection of available Legends IMO)

I barely buy anything anymore. I'm very selective on UE's, Legends and Elites now.
As an example, the new UE Taker - I was so hyped for that one, until I saw it. I'm not going to throw money at that thing. A year ago? I probably would've bought it for the FOMO.

It’s a lull but there’s still tons of new guys and attires if guys we’ve had I’d buy. Getting a constant stream of the two will keep people in. This is a line that goes on for years so no matter what order this list could keep me count a long time.
New guys like Barbarian, Haku, Test, Holly cousins, Sable, Mero, Fuji, Slick, carlito, Masters, Dino Bravo, Saturn, Awesome, Sabu, Tazz, Savio, Koko, Grandmaster, Konnan, Shane Douglas, Luna, Ultimo Dragon, Tajiri, Mideon, HOG, Steiners, Samu, Ivory, Al Snow, Val Venis, DOA, Droz, Brother Love, Blackman, Ohaire, kanyon, Sullivan, gangrel etc
Attires I’d still buy of previous releases (understand some off contract now) OMG, biker, Kona and evil crush, 1991 Hogan, multiple jimmy Hart suits, wm 7 Jake, commissioner regal, commissioner Foley, 2002 big show, Billy and chuck, wcw and Wolfpack Luger, 2002 Nash, wm 10 razor, brown tights hbk, ecw Vince, wig Kurt angle, wcw Jericho, blue shamrock, 2000 Chyna etc

This is my concern as WWE dont seem to be putting any money into this lately the line is destined to dry up with no new talent to make. Feels like we will get multiple Macho Man Warrior and Hogan until line ends. In fairness to Steve and Mattel team they have said so many times they want to make everyone we would want but if there have been any new FTITL guys been added in last few months as they said there was would be great to get some hype around this. I know its a toy line but still would be cool to get more info on future guys we might and want to see.

TBF to Mattel, they are probably doing the best with what they have since we all know the restrictions WWE place on them.
They have Chainsaw Charlie, The Goon and RVD coming-up soon, as well as The Zodiac (or is he out already?) and seems like the chase Big Boss Man might be WCW The Boss, so they are still trying but yes I agree the hype is missing a bit right now - maybe that's natural given the age of the line, or this time of year?
The crowdfunding project was exciting whilst that was going on (despite some negativity obviously, which was mostly fair comment) but since then we're just in that period of waiting for the next big reveal event after SDCC. They'll have something coming through though, I'm sure.

I’m mainly burnt out by the rollercoaster that was the crowdfunding project and the Hogan fiasco.
I love you.

Complaining that they’re not making guys like Hardcore Holly, Barbarian, Raven, Gangrel, Sabu, etc is essentially the same as complaining they’re not making Kenny Omega, Young Bucks, Jay White, Briscoe Brothers, MJF, Darby Allin, etc. Mattel can only make figures of people under the umbrella of the license they acquired.

I only buy maybe 3 figures a year at this point from Mattel. I have two figures purchased on the year but I don't think I'm getting anything coming out. Trish would have been number 3 but I hate how it came out.
And we kind of know the next year of Legends series releases, card subject to change and all, thanks to leaks and to me it's more surprising how bad the lines are given who we know Mattel has access to. That's a whole year of Legends that I have zero interest in.
Honestly if I weren't so lazy I probably would have sold my collection by now. I moved into my house in July and still haven't felt like getting my display up. Everything is still boxed up.

I'm sure the recent roster cuts have taken the wind out of everyone's sails, but this is also a lull period for figures more generally. Companies tend to show off upcoming stuff in mid-summer, so early fall is just a waiting game for stuff we mostly know about. We're still in the middle of a bunch of leaked waves so every new, legit announcement gets a "Knew about it, but neat" reaction. And we just had a massive crowdfunding project with a tumultuous backing period finish up, so everyone is burnt out.
The future of FTITL figures is going to be interesting and maybe not so hot, though. Traditionally most of them have come from NXT, but NXT ain't NXT no more. That's probably hurting morale. A lot of the most anticipated figures of the past few years have been from NXT.

I only collect Legends, so the excitement has definitely tapered off now that we're barely getting FTItL figures.
At this point, I feel like the focus is shifting to improvements on figures we already have (better Hogan skin tone, upgraded TrueFX faces for figures like Bam Bam and Big Boss Man, etc.)
I'm all about that, but I'd be a lot more excited if we started getting some big names or fun gimmicks that we're still missing, like Jesse Ventura, Koko B. Ware, Brother Love, Mr. Fuji, Skinner, etc.

I'm slowing down a bit, but it's honestly just a matter of space. I need to realign my focus on guys I don't have yet, and it would behoove me to move on from displaying duplicates and/or figures that got a better treatment in other lines. I really need to make it a point to sell off older figures if I ever upgrade, because they're just sitting in bags and boxes, and I could probably fund a few new ones in that respect to keep the display fresh.

I think they have a huge amount of names and attires they can work with without worrying about people they don't and can't have signed. There are so many people on the current roster that still only have basics or no figure at all and probably hundreds of highly requested attires they can work with. They can even go back and do updated figure of hard to find figures from five to ten years ago that many of us can't afford or find. It's just a matter of smart choices to put in the line and keep from repeating the same people too soon and putting out boring attires.

My interest has only been peaked lately with the crowdfunding campaign. That was a ton of fun but other than that I struggle to be interested in a whole lot other than once in a blue moon CE's or an Ultimate Edition every now and then.
For starters I'm interested in no one on the main roster now adays. The only guy I can think of really wanting would be Tozawa in his DG gear but I know that will never happen or flashbacks of guys like Hardy, Shelton, MVP, etc.
Even when I am interested in things they are flashbacks of people I missed out on in the past like Yokozuna, or Bret but that leads to the big final issue.
I can't find the crapI want. Distribution is a nightmare as I'm sure everyone and their mom knows and more often than not I miss things because I don't buy them online until I have to and they never come to my area. Prime example being E85 CE Kama, my area has 4 Wal-Mart's and not a single one ever got E85, they all jumped from E84 which they had forever and over stocked on E86 to a ridiculous degree.
Why be interested or excited for 1/25 figures they release that I probably won't find anyway.
