Huh, must have forgotten. Well thanks for giving me an excuse to watch some old clips. Still a little confused about why Kane's elbow wasn't cast in red, seems like an oversight but nothing that'll ruin an otherwise perfect figure. I'm pretty sure that due to the manufacturing process, both arms have to be cast in the same colour... so it was either have both arms cast in flesh-tone with one painted red - or cast both in red, with one painted flesh tone. Personally, I think they made the right choice... painted flesh tones hardly EVER look good. What I find mind boggling, is that Hasbro have somehow found the super duper secret method of avoiding this. Although chances are it's just Mattel taking yet another cheapo shortcut on what's supposed to be their premium line.

Why are their forearms so massive?

I just seen the Ringside video showcase of the Kane and Taker and here's my thoughts.
Taker looks pretty good. Some scans look like Late 2000's Taker, but at least 1 is really good for 98 Taker. I think he looks a tad bulky but it's still pretty good. The detail on his entrance gear looks fantastic, as well as the molded details on his top and tights.
Kane looks incredible for the most part, and this is probably the best Masked Kane figure they have done so far. My biggest gripe with Mattel all these years is that the Kane figures based on 97-02 all look WAY too slim and skinny for Kane, but they FINNALLY nailed his body type, he has that thick muscular look his figures always should've had. Both scans are really well done and I'm impressed with the scan with the hair behind his ears as it's never really been done before. He should be as tall as Taker or taller, the elbow should be red on the inside when his arm is bent, and the boots should be glossy but other than that (and the fact it seems some have poor chipped up paint on the mask for whatever reason) I'm pretty impressed and happy with it.
I haven't bought a Mattel figure in forever, but I think I'm throwing some cash down for that Kane. A part of me hopes that maybe they'll do a running change and I'll luck out and get that version with some/all of those issues fixed but I'm doubtful of that. Now only if they could make Kane look big like this in Elite form and give us A PROPER 2001 singlet Kane; that's pretty much my dream fig seeing how I don't think they would make an Ultimate of that Era.

I'll more than likely return the package when it gets here, order another if there's a running change (which I doubt) and then pray I get a fixed one lol. Pretty bummed to be honest. Kane went from being my most anticipated figure from any line I collect, to a massive disappointment all before even getting it in hand lol. F***ing eh

Kanenite That’s my biggest want right now too. I have no doubt that we’ll get an ‘01 Kane considering that they’ve made this new mold with his arms and laceless boots. The new UE Nash has a singlet mold too. Mattel also made another scan for the ‘01 Kane (which I’m not sold on yet) so I’m sure with all the parts listed they could make one. My only wants for an ‘01 Kane are molded flame/mesh details and two or three headsculpts. I feel like the Jakks r3 set the bar high for it’s time period.

Look, I'm a nice person. I really am. I try to put out the most good in the world that I can.
I'm going to start out by saying that the UE Kane is going to look splendid on my shelf... unmoving, untouched, and unposed.
But I can't help but shake my head at how the company made a figure that, from first looks, was the best figure they had ever made, and upon people getting it in hand, the figure got canceled so dang fast. I for one really thought this was going to be the nicest figure in my collection, replacing the UE Rock and Cena. Mattel, I love your product but dang.
I... it isn't that I'm mad really. Life's too short to be mad about this stuff. I'm just disappointed.

I'm going to start out by saying that the UE Kane is going to look splendid on my shelf... unmoving, untouched, and unposed. It's definitely worth noting that if someone is just going to have Kane displayed in a static, standard pose then the figure is still fantastic. But as someone who prefers to have their figures in more dynamic poses on display, the unpainted portions of the arms will be a massive eye sore. Hopefully the seemingly endless criticism from those of us disappointed with the figure isn't raining on the parade of those happy with how Kane turned out.

I'm going to start out by saying that the UE Kane is going to look splendid on my shelf... unmoving, untouched, and unposed. It's definitely worth noting that if someone is just going to have Kane displayed in a static, standard pose then the first is still fantastic. But as someone who prefers to have their figures in more dynamic poses on display, the unpainted portions of the arms will be a massive eye sore. Hopefully the seemingly endless criticism from those of us disappointed with the figure isn't raining on the parade of those happy with how Kane turned out. Thank you for saying this. This here is one of the reasons that it makes me sad when people trash basics as an entire line. Do I prefer a well done Elite to most basics? Yes. Almost always. But for all that the figure is going to sit on my shelf and look pretty, I'll happily buy the basics if they are A. better, B. the only thing available, or C. of someone I don't care enough for an Elite of.
I missed out on the UE HHH 1 figure. Makes me mad. But, I'm in the process of fixing up the Championship Showdown basic of the same look and I think if I can just get him a second knee pad and a water bottle (to go with the sledgehammer I have) I will be FINE with him. I don't like the look of the chain-shirt and hat anyway.
Imperfect figures don't bother me for as much as they will sit on my shelf. You give me a figure that looks pretty in a static pose, that has good paint apps and a reasonable amount of detail, and most of all, doesn't fall on their face three times a week?
That's all I'm asking for. And I wish more people would respect people like me in the hobby for having this opinion.
Still very disappointed in the Kane figure on behalf of how many people aren't like me though. And I think those are opinions that should be able to coexist.

I agree it’s dumb they did it, but it’s times like this im glad I decided to keep UEs in their box. They’re the most complete figures they’ve done and the packaging hasn’t changed except for a bit slimmer. Love elites, and think they’re the best wrestling figures for the price, but have been wanting something like Marvel legends where the packaging is the same and the extra heads/hands, double joint elbows and butterfly joints.
Wish I could get a couple of each, but so far it’s just been Flair and Macho. Hope we can get some more modern people again. I want Bayley, Sasha and AJ Styles Ultimates.

Huh.
Guess I'm going to have to find a red paint that matches Kane.

Did the previous Elite Kane figures have this issue? Because if not, I'm even more disappointed that it had to happen with the UE.

I’m usually not one to complain about stuff like this, but Kane’s elbow really does look terrible. I was hoping that maybe in “real life” it wouldn’t look as bad as it does in paper photos, but it was very noticeable on Myers’ Twitch stream. Granted, the figures can be posed in a way to hide it, but still.
I will complement the Taker though. I look miles better than the initial images. The tongue head is still 2019-looking, but the other two heads are pretty solidly 98/99.

I'd like to see them do the inverted attire in Ultimate form, but with the new Summerslam head and mesh design on the chest.

Did the previous Elite Kane figures have this issue? Because if not, I'm even more disappointed that it had to happen with the UE. Granted this is the first double-jointed elbow Kane figure, but no, previous elite Kane figures did not have this problem. I also don’t buy the idea that Mattel was forced to do this because of manufacturing issues. Hasbro has done plenty of figures in their Marvel Legends line with two arms molded in different colors. This is just another example of Mattel cheapening out on their product despite the higher price point for customers that’s suppose to cover things like these.

ztj_wwf_wwf It’s not that it doesn’t look like Taker. It looks like modern Taker with a wig. I honestly think Jakks did a better job with their headscan. I’m hoping I’m wrong, but he just looks too old. plastictaxicab Is this Taker more on the tan side? Any pics next to the network spotlight? You must be blind as a bat, the main head looks like undertaker from that era, the other two sculpts illl give it to you.

I really really hope we are now a step closer to a UE 2001 BOD Kane, it’s my absolute favourite, would also be great paired with an ABA Taker, but let’s see what happens. Omg that sounds incredible That was always my favourite attire, I can just imagine how incredible that would look. Could come with the wwf and wcw tag titles or come with the ic, arm cast and chain, otherwise something with the hardcore title but the hardcore has been done before.
