Any official announcement on the chase RVD?

I just got an email from RSC about cancelation of the RVD chase. If you haven't received it yet I'm sure you all will soon!

Yeah. I'm sure a One Night Stand Ultimate is already slotted in somewhere. But he had so many great attires, and Mattel doesn't have that many guys to work with right now. Adding another guy in the mix with tons of great attires who we've only gotten one version of in Elite form is an awesome problem to have for Mattel.

The manufacturer Mattel has informed us that they are canceling this item. Therefore this item will need to be cancelled from your order. Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to be put through.

There has to be a moc or one lose out in the wild swing we got loose and moc pictures of the set already and even cole’s chase. So someone has it or there is a good amount of them out there

Out of curiosity, anyone know what happens to the RVDs? I presume re-painting an already-manufactured figure would be a bit of hassle? I presume the figure gets painted one piece at a time, and as such they'd have to break down all the RVDs to individual pieces to repaint them? And as such these are more than likely just headed to a furnace somewhere?

Why do people want this so bad? Yeah I get the attire was pretty cool looking if you don’t know or don’t care what it represents to some cultures. I too preordered when it first went up. But when it was canceled it wasn’t that big of a deal to me. This attire was nowhere on my radar prior to being announced. If you woulda asked me to list my top 25 most wanted RVD attires I wouldn’t have even thought of this one. These discussions come up all the time, most recently when this series was first leaked, and I don’t recall ever reading anyone requesting a WM23 RVD. I don’t get why so many people are crying over its cancellation. Especially since we’re still getting the tiger stripes which is much more recognizable.

To be fair in return, RSC is a business with a ton of things going on at the moment that only people involved in our business really do, or need to, know about to the fullest extent, aside from figure release or quality issues that frankly are more important. The Kane arm, Elite 92, even this RVD...at the end of the day, we still want to sell all of these in a way that people are satisfied with. I understand what happened with the RVD but if it were completely up to me, Tom, it would still be sold. Not my call.

To add clarity for you and everyone else looking at it this way, sometimes this is something we have been asked not to discuss until a final word or decision from the manufacturer is directly given to us and in all three examples, that's what we've done. It's clear that with time these questions eventually get answered. I think people just need to wait it out and in our current society that is just hard for a lot of people. The angry speculation and things like people being "100% certain" that Elite 92 is canceled post after post after post while waiting for some kind of response also doesn't help.

I have tried to alleviate this a bit by giving some 'wink wink, nod nod' responses on certain things (which I would argue definitely counts as something), even going as far as to answer about the RVD directly on one of the previous threads in depth which I'm regretting doing every day, but I don't think us making any post that is going to be filled with a bunch of 'screw you Ringside' and 'eff you Mattel' responses even warrants us making an announcement in most cases. Unfortunately that's how it is at the moment and the amount of comments, discussions, etc. of people portraying themselves as seriously angry yet having only partial information or little clarity as to what's actually happening or even being discussed just isn't worth it. We as a company don't want to be associated with it, I don't want to come on WFigs which is a place that's meant to be enjoyed and see it, we don't need people who aren't complaining to see it and think something bad is happening or that we are screwing people, and I as a person don't have time to calm 100 different angry responses that would still come even if we were to make an announcement.

I understand people want answers, but sometimes you just have to wait.
