Also a reminder Jack Specific asked us directly not to bring the politics of this figure back up here and I'm just saying this is a gentle reminder to anyone in this thread. Happy to keep it open so people can understand that it's not coming out, but please respect his wishes.

Why do people want this so bad? Yeah I get the attire was pretty cool looking if you don’t know or don’t care what it represents to some cultures. I too preordered when it first went up. But when it was canceled it wasn’t that big of a deal to me. This attire was nowhere on my radar prior to being announced. If you woulda asked me to list my top 25 most wanted RVD attires I wouldn’t have even thought of this one. These discussions come up all the time, most recently when this series was first leaked, and I don’t recall ever reading anyone requesting a WM23 RVD. I don’t get why so many people are crying over its cancellation. Especially since we’re still getting the tiger stripes which is much more recognizable. It was the better looking attire out of the two, and most people bothered by the cancellation don’t think the outrage was sincere since it took months for anyone to even complain (and it was only one person). IDK. Getting mad over the cancellation of a figure no one was asking for seems to be a bit overdramatic. It’s not like not having this figure is going to create a glaring hole in someone’s collection like, for example, if the camo Cole got canceled. |

The tiger stripe is way more iconic, prolific, and aesthetically interesting than the red and white.
I got em both because I buy all rvds.
But that ecw run was extremely forgettable except for the amazing ONS ppvs.

I had no idea what the chase attire was from when it was shown, so that should tell you all you need to know about whether I really wanted it or not. It’s an ok looking attire, but really not that appealing to me. I certainly would’ve bought it in the wild or in some scenario where it didn’t cost so much more for being a chase, because I want to have RVDs, but I’m happy to simply have pre-ordered the tiger stripes and stop there.

I wanted it for a few reasons
A) I know it’s WWECW but the back of the singlet says ECW, I like that
B) The chase is from 2007, the year I really started watching wrestling as a kid. 2001/2 I wasn’t even born so the tiger stripes don’t have the same feeling for me even tho I like the actual attire more
C) Seeing how they did RVD the first time, I was happy we were getting two attires rn
Sucks to see one dude compare it to the nazi flag and automatically the crapgets cancelled but ig it is what it is

It’s a shame we’re losing out on an RVD, hopefully Mattel will make a solid attempt to get another out soon knowing how big of a want it was on most peoples lists and how they kinda fumbled the first time around.

Genuinely haven’t seen anything? one guy took issue with the flag due to its controversial nature with the history attached to it This is why we can’t have nice things… some basement dweller sjw gets offended now it’s a big deal .. they should just replace it with the 420 gear or does that promote smoking and doing drugs? It’s a lose lose situation  |

RVD gets attire gets cancelled from Mattel. How many toy companies have made Jokers from the Killing Joke with what he did to Batgirl in the comic. A homicidal clown who raped, and kills with no empathy. Same reason why Al Snow with the mannequin head jakks figure had the little thing back in the day a few parents got offended. At the end of the day it's a toy for a kids or collectors.

Yes it’s good at times but it’s also negative
Good because we get timely reveals / info etc
Bad because when things go wrong or not as planned people expect instant explanation
Look at hasbros - the shawn was advertised one way and come out another, we all know the rnb greg situation etc now but at the time it was as simple as he never come out. There was no demanding an explanation because there was nowhere back then to demand it
It wads happier simpler time in lots of respects
