As a legends collector I was really satisfied with the figures in 2021, minor complaints are Halls face scan, chase JYD I would have preferred the lighter color blue tights, and I was disappointed in the fan takeover Steamboat results.

im not even including basics in the discussion because they are just not really important to me anymore so things like that awful Edge with the green shirt are laughable and not "disappointing" one of the figures actually i was most disappointed with this year was the new elite MVP....maybe it's just the one i got, but it feels light/flimsy and extremely cheaply made. plus its too skinny and kind of lifeless expression. it was a figure i really wanted too considering his comeback, and i feel like its very underwhelming. Ultimate Kane's elbow paint thing was an incredible letdown but they are fixing it at least so that brings it back up Fan Takeover Rollins is an awful figure and not worthy of winning something like thatLegends John Cena was a pretty unnecessary and underwhelming figure IMO lastly, Wrestlemania Edge....woof. Other than it not being the attire some people wanted, what’s wrong with Fan Takeover Rollins? The only bad thing I could think of about it was his left armband being plain black instead of trimmed in gold like his right armband. I actually was quite happy with that figure tbh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But yeah… Mania Edge and Basic Edge with the painted shirt were pretty rough. regardless of it "winning" the fan vote, the attire is beyond boring. face is dull and lifeless. its just a plain black figure with gold striping. and the gold is dull, compared to how it actually looked (it was a nice bright gold on the real outfit) when Rollins was announced in the FTO set with ALL the cool attires he's had, putting that one in to vote on was one of the absolute worst options. they only did it because it was a "wrestlemania" outfit. |

Thinking about it, I'm in two minds about the SS Hogan - it's great that we finally have a "Hulk Rules" Hogan (...only took 11 years!), but I'm not sure the orange/tan really works. Plus the True FX is far too heavy-handed... the non FX (RSC American Made Hogan) head looks better.

I can say now that I have them in hand that UE Taker and UE Austin are pretty much top of the list for me.
Taker started out looking like crap, to potential hope with the MOC images, back to the opinion of its kind of crappy now that I have in hand.
Austin just was an all around atrocity. From protos to final product.
Sad that some of the worse off figs are coming from the UE/Premium line lately. Austin, Taker, Kane's Arms...

Survivor series hulk. There is clearly a disconnect with rendering/prototype and final product. I know there is work done overseas and they cannot always make it the way it was intended but it is soo disappointing. The orange skintone I get where they were going with it but it still doesn't feel right. The crazy eyes look looked amazing on the render but the final product missed the mark big time on likeness and looked cross eyed. Kama... the red was not the right shade and his skin color was a bit off. Another case of having to communicate with an overseas team not translating to the correct shades. Piper the kilt was the wrong pattern Showing us the rendering for ref sid justice and then finding out later it was sid vicious underneath. There was a whole thread for which tights (light blue, red, black) it should be and then finding out it was a red singlet for an entirely wcw look was super disappointing. Sid Justice also being a ginger was also really frustrating. I know they switched him to blonde in a run change, but doesn't help those of us who already bought him and I'm too ethical to do a figswap like others did. |
