……or you can realize that people don’t have the money or luxury to drop hundreds of dollars to drop on action figures. Be happy for collectors that now have the option of buying figures for an affordable price. That’s the gamble you take as collector. Things are bound to be rereleased in some form due to demand. Sounds like he's just mad he can no longer extort $200 for a $30 Mattel figure. This thread has really separated the collectors from the profiteers. Not at all. All I’m saying is Mattel should add something to the packaging so collectors will know the difference between the original and these rereleases. I think that’s fair to the people that paid $200 plus for some of these.

I think that’s fair to the people that paid $200 plus for some of these. But Mattel didn’t make anyone pay $200 for anything. There’s really no difference. If somebody paid $200 out of FOMO, that’s on them. Mattel is simply re-releasing a figure that didn’t get much distribution. It’s not a “Best of” series or anything. It’s literally more of these 2 figures being put out into the market for consumers. If they slap a sticker on it? Fine. If they don’t? Doesn’t make a difference.

A Lesnar figure in black shorts? Never thought we’d get one of those. Count me in!

A lot of Brocks and HBKs being thrown up on secondary all the sudden. Guess everyone is trying to get the most they can before new spreads.

Id love to see a re release of series 2 Bret series 3 triple h and series 6 rock so everyone can get them. These are always expensive now. I have Bret and the rock but that triple h was perfect and I didn’t pull the trigger.

A "collector" upset that the resale value of his toys will go down lol. Yes man. Im a collector. I have hundreds of Mattel figures . I bought the ultimates twice from the beginning because i knew from the start they will be going up in value very quick. And i want them loose and moc. And you know what, i want to be honest, its a good feeling as a collector if you have something rare and worthy. Please dont act like you never sold a figure at a higher price than you paid for it So i made my statement thinking Mattel would make a rerelease of the figures in a new wave. But they make a new production run. They obviously want to make easy money out from Brock being on TV and as current WWE champion. So lets be it. But people paid a lot of money on secondery for this figures. They will be pissed. And no, dont blame them. Because how should they know it better. Its not usual that Mattel makes new production runs of older figures. I still dont like it. Hate me or not

Personally I would prefer if these were different and they had butterfly joints added but I know that’s not happening so I’m just happy I can finally get Shawn at all

Hopefully Bret gets released again. Hart and HBK are really the only 2 one's I'm missing that I want. Maybe Triple H as well

That's a bit unfair though - these figures came and went ages ago... so if you had missed out on one, your only option was to pay the (expensive) secondary price or do without. True, no-one forced anyone to pay - but no-one knew or thought they'd be re-released either.

Mattel can rerelease every figure they’ve ever made and I would be fine with it. I have never overpaid for a figure. Nor have I gone to the secondary market for them. The most I have ever paid for a mattel wwe figure is whatever RSC listed a figure for preorder.
I have a simple rule and that is if it was a must have figure to me I preordered it from RSC regardless of if it’s going to be a hard to find or a pegwarmer . Anything else I wait for Amazon, Target or Walmart. And if I don’t find it there then I just won’t get it, because I won’t pay secondary market prices and I clearly didn’t want it enough to preorder.
And honestly the only figures I have never seen at least once at mass retail were the E75(?) Hurricane and UE Brock. I did preorder the regular Hurricane from RSC, but I wanted the chase also. But I never found it locally so I just didn’t get it. And as I said with Brock he was the only UE on Amazon that I never seen at the $30 price point so again I just passed on it.
At the end of the day they are toys that I chose to collect. For me I collect for sentimental reasons. For wrestling it started with Jakks CS buying figures that I had memories of watching with my late father. Same with Mattel Legends. That was how imy wrestling figure collection started although I do buy figures of wrestlers I like/liked from after he passed as well. And the other toys/figures I collect such as Batman, Superheroes , SW, Star Trek, etc) are all things I loved as a child and never lost interest in. And I have never or will never sell a figure. So don’t care if everyone has the same figures as me.

Believe it or not, a lot of people collect because they like the figures and never sell them, for a higher price or not.

I couldn’t imagine being upset at this because my toy isn’t worth an extra $50.

As a Legends Collector, I’ve been grateful to have a shot recently at getting Jake, Orton, Boss Man, Bulldog (revealed today) at normal retail price. People who think these releases should be “one and done” are just selfish and short sighted.

Hasbro has actually secretly been doing this with their hardest to find Star Wars Black Series figures. they will either re-release them with updated face tech in the archive line or just do a straight up extra production run ala Clone Captain Rex.
action figures should be able to be enjoyed by anyone at a fair price. retail is highly preferable.....because...they're freaking action figures.

We need another production run of the WM6 Amazon Warrior that sold out straight away and was never available on Amazon UK. And Mattel, please make enough of that new UE Shawn because I need it!

Couldn't agree more. The sheer entitlement of some people that their figures should "hold value" or whatever is ridiculous. Invest your money elsewhere so you don't get heated up when a wrestling toy you have two of is worth $100 less. These things are literally made for people's enjoyment, I can't imagine begrudging a company making them more accessible.

The issue is that Mattel should tweak the packaging ever so slightly so collectors and buyers will know that these new UE rereleases are a 2nd wave and not original.
