Tonight during Raw, I even noticed that and said to my girlfriend, "They are gonna do Austin vs. Owens at Mania I bet!" I hope it does happen. I legit will mark out. Austin doesn't have to even have an actual match. Owens would be fine taking a stunner from Steve and putting him over. He is his favourite wrestler after all.

I bet it’ll be similar to Bret in ‘10. But hey, any appearance is fun.

I think Austin is one of the guys that cares about the craft enough to put in a lot of work to get into a proper sort of in ring shape. Nothing like his younger years of course but more heavy muscle now. So either way I think we will see a healthy Austin whether its a squash match or a back and forth.

Austin will have to look good, so it will be super effective when he does the job for Head Cheese at a Saudi show in six months.

Austin had the perfect retirement though. I’m fine with him doing the Thesz Press and a Stunner but an actual match isn’t necessary.

I made a quick edit of current day Austin in his attire because why not. To his credit, he's stayed in pretty good shape since his last match. So if he were to wrestle again, there's no doubt he'd look great again after a couple months of getting back into ring shape, and getting the old tan back on.

Why would you book Austin and waste him on someone who’s not on his level? At least do Austin/Brock or Austin/Reigns unless it’s a 15 second squash.

Reigns ain't on Austin's level - and never will be... no matter how much they try and convince you that he is.

Nooooooooooooooo! He had the absolute perfect retirement against his greatest rival at the top of their game in the main event of WrestleMania at a time when WrestleMania meant something. This would be a baaaaaaaaaaaaaad decision.

Austin vs Owens would be like skipping over Hogan/Rock at Mania 18 and doing Hogan/Rikishi instead. Hell if they can't do Lesnar, get Cena back. That's an actual dream match.

Is this really getting everyone excited. 57 year old Steve Austin vs Kevin Owens because they are creatively bankrupt. And are forced to do 2 for ticket deals for Mania.

There's no way it's going to be an actual match. Probably it'll just be a squash with Owens taking a stunner or two.

Meltzer said this morning that he talked to people and it is indeed the plan, and everyone backstage is told this is the creative.

meh a segment where Austin stuns Owens would suffice, dont need to see another current talent buried by a legend

I can't see this happening since Austin is 57 years old. If Austin ever wanted to come back for that last match that would have happened 10 years ago imo.

I'm actually not against it. He deserves it. Massive crowd in his home state, why not? It'll be a glorified segment disguised as a match and anyone expecting a 5 star classic would only have themselves to blame.
There was always going to be a big chance of Michael's tarnishing his legacy when he came back, but I feel that risk is miniscule in comparison with Austin's style.

I think people are forgetting Austin’s style of wrestling the last few years of his career. Was mainly punches and kicks. He was a brawler. Owens is perfect for the style of match Austin could put on.
Roman is on Austin’s level, regardless of what butthurt marks think. Cena took over for Austin and Roman took over for Cena. That said, I don’t think he’d gel as well with Austin as Owens will.
And Brock? You want Austin to die? Brock is safe but Stone Cold really shouldn’t be taking multiple Germans.
Owens vs Stone Cold. Stunner vs Stunner. It makes sense and could be a fun ten minute match.
