No, theyre not as bad as the Monsters and Mutants lines. There shouldve been some kind of comic book or cartoon to promote those things instead of releasing a Brock Lesnar as a lobster or Roman Reigns as a werewolf with no context behind it. Or let kids use their imagination and creativity to make up their own story They can do that with basics.

Terrible choices, bland looking figures, lack of much needed accessories. Pretty sure Rock and Cena would have sold much better if they were in a uniform and had guns and weapons. Instead we get plain clothes with nothing to put with them. How does Piper not have a shotgun?

I grew up purchasing Batman, Star Wars, Flash Gordon, Robocop, Rambo, James Bond, Ninja Turtles, GI Joe etc that all came with various swords, pistols, rifles, lasers, etc. As did millions of other kids. Guess what, soccer moms? Nobody grew up to become violent gun toting maniacs who shoot up schools and malls. I’d be curious if those types of maniacs even played with action figures at all. But hey, go ahead Karen.

Ahhh the sure sign of losing a debate when reverting to name calling and assumption making 👍 I grew up with some of those toys exactly the same I have bought my kids some of those toys exactly the same However from wwe’s perspective you can’t understand why they don’t want blood and guns? This maybe a special line but it’s still under WWE branding. Some parents (not me) but some who maybe don’t pay close enough attention to what their kids watch will see a figure on the pegs, with the wwe logo, with a gun etc and stop young Johnny watching and cause a fuss which in today’s world with social media etc is all too easy - look at the fuss rvd’s singlet caused. If a parent was to see that and react in that way would that an overreaction? Yeah I think so Do wwe want to deal with the grief? Nope Your surely old enough from what you said to remember or know about the issue with Al Snows figure. You think WWE want to have to go defend themselves or deal with ‘social media outrage’?

No. Amazon exclusive ultimates are the biggest mistake mattel has ever made. Let's be honest, retailer exclusives to begin with were a bad idea. Whoever decided that clearly didn't take into account that they would be alienating a massive number of non-US collectors and fans.

Sorry, to be clear, my comments weren’t directed specifically at you as an individual. It was more of a vent at large about censorship, pearl clutching, etc. Definitely not a shot at you specifically and I see what you’re saying. It’s just frustrating that a minority can control what the rest of us get to enjoy.

I don’t think retailer exclusives are brilliant, but it’s a big part of retail I remember buying 3 or 4 versions of an album to get an extra song on each version and the rest of the album is the same. The last example after getting the UK version I had to get the Best Buy, target and Japanese versions. With Best Buy snd target not posting to the uk I had to go through the after market route .

If you’re Mattel and your major retailer’s buyer asks for an exclusive you give it to them. Because that’s your customer and that’s where you make your money. And Bill and Steve have said numerous times all foreign retailers can ask for exclusives but it seems their corporate buyers don’t want to carry them.

I LOVE the Piper and I will definitely be grabbing Rock as the scorpion king. They could have done worse...curious what will be included in wave 3. I think they already said that wave 2 is the last one

We (uk market) are also very small We are a much smaller country snd population to begin with So the % of people who watch wrestling is much lower The % of those that want to buy figures is even lower The % of those who want niche figures is again even lower Arguably the biggest uk online retailer with a good relationship with mattel have said they are open to them but they wouldn’t be able to shift the minimum order quantities - it’s simple as that

I think they already said that wave 2 is the last one Lol oh...RIP Yeah, it was 2 and done. Ruthless Aggression line is taking over the spot for Wal-Mart's elite exclusive.

Wave 2 is a lot better than the first wave. Scorpion King and Bionic Bigfoot are great looking figs. I think the biggest issue is that Walmart ordered way to many of Rock and Cena and hardly any of Piper.

The first Superstars line was probably their biggest swing and miss. Having a daughter who was into wrestling growing up I don’t believe it was necessary to have a line specifically catering to girls. Girls that are into wrestling don’t wanna play dress up and have fashion shows with the wrestlers. They wanna recreate the action in the ring the same as boys.

If they just make a Jimmy King, Bonesaw Macho, and Santa Big Show from Jingle All The Way, and all problems will be solved.

People also like to pretend that the Hasbro retro line was universally loved and unjustly went away instead of admitting how big of a catastrophic failure it was.
