I would chalk that up to the original Hall of Fame series exclusive to Kmart. Not the Target one, the one from 2011 that had select figures from L1 and L2 mixed together with a bonus cardboard HOF plaque. Legends bombed and those sets warmed like crazy. Of course in retrospect, some of those are quite valuable now, but then...sheesh.
Point made, though. I haven't seen these yet but a lot of folks are having shelfwarming issues with them.

Steve mentioned in the Q&A thread that he tried to get Thunderlips and Clubber Lang in the line. Seems like Mattel had the best intentions for it.

The amount of jumpers were strange too along with who they picked Jeff Hardy not a jumper but hhh, sting x2 (ok for splash I guess) etc Then that stupid kick move. I liked what they did to the clothesline adding more articulation so it could also be a stunner etc but the kick was a step back Sting shoulda been a surfer though to go with the hasbro era Especially since we got 2. I get 1 nwo but yeah we didn’t need 2 and a surfer would’ve been much better IMO

I think the 2nd/Wolfpac one was a last-minute replacement though, as it was a quick/easy repaint... I can't remember who he replaced though(?). And talking about Retro Stings, I always thought it was strange how they put a modern Sting photo on his first ('90s) Crow figure... 🤷♂️

Yeah, I think it was Enzo. There was definitely a Big Cass shown - and that grey gloved Undertaker. I can't remember Cesaro though(?).

I can't remember Cesaro though(?). There’s were ‘prototypes’ of a jumping warrior, Neville and ryback show but I don’t think it was confirmed if they were customs or real? I can’t remember how the time line adds up - would ryback have been un the company when there retros first come out / were being planned?

I can't remember Cesaro though(?). I might have imagined the pictures of Cesaro thing, but everyone was expecting him around that time, I thought it was because the figure was shown at an event or he appeared in a speculative lineup somewhere? But maybe it was just that people expected Cesaro to match Sheamus.

In reference to the Hollywood line, I am seeing a slow down in John Cena figures in general. Hollywood Elite clearly being the worst, but his Championship Showdown 2-Pack with Shawn Michaels is still all over the place, and his last basic (119) wasn't exactly flying off the pegs at Christmas time.

I think their biggest mistake were those female dolls. I remember going to a Kmart that was closing down & most of the store was bare but their was a big display case with about 6 or more shelfs full of these dolls lol. They also made it to 5below in massive quantities

Enzo was cut for series 4, hence the Kevin Owens repaint - Enzo was part of the display at a trade show so he was definitely coming.
Big Cass was cut for series 6 I believe, replaced by Sting.
I didn’t mind them doing the Wolfpac version as a late replacement, but I wish they had stuck the Sting head on an AJ body or something to improve on the original.

Nah. Changing the formula for Basics probably is.

Not even close. The Monsters & mutant shiiite stunk up pegs forever here in Ireland. Smyths practically had to give them away...

The Piper should have been a CE or RSC exclusive. Bin the rest.

The Cena and Rock figures were the least popular and that’s what hit the shelves. They do look special enough if that makes sense. Piper was the one everyone wanted and he never hit shelves. The Andre coming out looks cool but this line will die. Hogan as Rip from No Holds Barred would have been a home run but instead Cena from Fast 9 or 109 not sure. Another head scratcher from Mattel.

(DC Superhero Girls wasn't bad, though. That Katana SDCC exclusive was great.) Although I'm upset that the line got canceled before this Asuka figure could come out, it's really nice:
