I wonder how many were purchased / produced. They didn’t have a counter like they did with the ring correct ?

I wonder how many were purchased / produced. They didn’t have a counter like they did with the ring correct ? No counter and unlike the ring which still shows up on the website as sold Cody is gone. I get a "404 page not found" for the link. |

Who likes the figure but isn’t ordering and why? Are you in favor of how it’s being offered as a made to order item? If this figure isn’t for you, does the made to order model still interest you for other items? I ordered 2. I appreciate the week long opportunity to purchase. No anxiety of it selling out in 2 minutes like the SDCC set did. 😞 I would like to see more made to order ultimates like this. |

I love the concept. I think it'd be better for mid card talent though - ones that maybe wouldn't do as well at Retail. Also, I'd just stick with the normal packaging. That's one of the best bits of the Ultimate line. At this rate, we're going to have a load of random exclusive boxes. Or atleast make the exclusives all the same shape like Ringside do with theirs.

I really love this structure of Made to Order as it's stress free and I have no fear of it selling out and have a reasonable amount of time to get it. Hope it becomes a standard on more exclusives. |

Decided not to get it. Final decision. It just didn't give me that feeling of "wow I have to get it."
Yes it's technically first time in the line in this character and would give any collection a sense of newness, and he is one of the top guys now. It is a figure of him also in Ultimate articulation that probably won't be done again.
But I have to pick and choose. I like his character but im not a huge fan like other people. There are other figures that I put ahead of this that I want. Plus im considering getting that Amazon three pack. Maybe if they had a finished product of the toy it would have swayed me to buy it. But when I needed to charge my phone it was getting near to midnight and I switched my phone off having a quick conversation with myself....."I guess you are not getting that Cody then...yes I guess im not." Then I left it at that and went to sleep.
If I really wanted it I definitely wouldn't have left it to the last minute.
I hope that they use this method with the LJN inspired figures. Giving a week opportunity to order.

Passed on it. Just a blah looking fig, I know it's his WM re debut, but I'm not a huge fan of his, I like him but I don't $45+ like him. If it was regular packaging maybe, but I don't see why it's an extra 15 just for the cardboard piece.
I'll wait for elite 99 which by the looks will be coming before this ultimate.

I had stuff in my cart from WWE, Jurassic Park, & Hot Wheels and the site magically emptied my cart after 2 minutes. I had to refresh and add everything to the cart again. Cart que time was 9 minutes, I knew I'd be screwed. Everything went OOS except Jurassic Park & Cody. OK, still clicked pay and submit button & it comes back saying Jurassic Park was now sold out. I said forget the Cody you can keep it all. About a week later I decided to order 1 Cody. I would have ordered more, but I'm still irritated by it all. I'm much in favor of how the Cody is being offered though. I don't care if it takes over a year for it to come, at least you can actually place an order for it. |

They are only making a small fraction of these compared to a normal retail UE figure and this one has a different box and look. It’s a very safe bet these will sell for $100-$200+ Not to mention there's no universe where Cody winning the title is bigger than his surprise wrestlemania return after jumping ship from a "rival" company he helped found. Hell I'd even say the torn pec will be just as iconic of a Cody moment as him winning the title will be. I'm fairly confident this will be re-made in a different line, albeit possibly without accessories. But lets not re-write history - everybody and their dog knew Cody was the one facing Seth. It was the worst kept secret in 'rassling.
Unrelated, but on the topic of moulding kneepads (which I'd be in general favour of, for people that wear them under their tights, which seems a lot of people), i wish they'd do a set of legs with moulded braces for Austin/Hogan/etc. Having them as a separate thing is so annoying. Especially considering the amount of unique and new moulds that are made for random wrestlers, it makes surely a lot of sense, considering Austin is released practically monthly, to make him a specific set of legs with the braces moulded on.

I'm taking down names of ppl who are saying they don't want this figure, we will revisit this when it comes out!! And if your name is on the list and if I see u asking for one, I will scalp mines to ya!!! I reckon a lot of people who say they don't want it, are being fairly honest, in fairness.
I'm not a huge fan of modern stuff, but I'd pick up a Cody elite off the shelf at a normal RRP. I wouldn't pay over the odds for it. Even if you are a 'normal' Cody fan, there's still lots of AEW options and you know he'll appear in Elite and Basics repeatedly. It's only if you're a really big fan that maybe you buy all Cody stuff, or just a Mattel fan that buys all the exclusives, that you'd really need this, I'm sure? (or if you were at the event and want something that's tied to that).
There are a lot of people that would be very happy to add this to their collection. And I like the pre-order model they have (although pre-order windows need to be a lot longer for this kinda thing in future to give people a proper chance) but I can easily see why a lot of people aren't that fussed about it.

I just don't like the attire. I want him in more of the actual Homelander colors the way Jazwares made him. I'm all for a Cody Ultimate but not this one. I'm just going to wait for a different look, be it Elite or eventually another Ultimate. Part of the growing pains with Jazwares has been me buying every version of Cody they put out, largely with the next being better than the previous. So I'm going to be a little more picky with Mattel. He's going to get tons of figures.
And hopefully him eventually winning the title is a much, much, bigger moment than his return.

So according to a guy on Instagram, under 8k of these have been sold, is this a lot? Guy claims it’s very low and it will be one of the rarest UE……beats me

That's actually a good point. I would think RSC might have some available. Missed opportunity for them if they didn’t I wish I could’ve gotten two. If RSC did get some I might grab another from them if they’re not too much of an upcharge. |
