Any reason why the Ultimate 11 Kane got dull black boots instead of the grossy ones on the proto? Different designers. Different choices. Thanks for the answer. Do you know if the exact same boot mold minus the toe articulation will be used for the elite versions of Undertaker and Kane moving forward? |

Adding my own two cents on to Steve's point that this is obviously a wrestling figure business, keep in mind those of you New Gen backers that are upset, there are people out there who had little to no interest in that ring/era (...me) and would prefer this. I understand many reasons, space, cash, etc. for not wanting to all out grab another for some folks but there are for sure those of us who would rather this. It's a nice additional option here! I have not been this pumped for something figure related in a long while. I look forward to this one. Well new gen backers were always informed that the ring would be made available in other ways over time. I don't think that's an issue. I do think it's kinda a dick move to announce this ring so close to the new gen ring shipping that not everybody (at least internationally) even has theirs yet. And anyone who backed who wants the Kane for Ultimate completionism purposes or whatever has to buy another whole ring to get it. |

- people banging on about having to buy another ring for the figure or how they feel cheated after doing the crowd backing.
This is nothing new, I remember when Jacks released the hardcore ring and not long after when people had brought one, released the ring with the first TTL style JR and first proper announce table, which people wanted and had to but another ring for.
I’m not surprised this has been done, saves me having to fix up a new gen ring

I’m in Florida in one of the worst hit areas by Hurricane Ian. I haven’t had power or water in days. I haven’t had a shower in days. I’m dirty and exhausted. This is the first time I was able to access the internet in days on my phone. I just absentmindedly opened this tab. Seeing this news makes my day a little less miserable.

As someone who doesn't work with designing this stuff, and has no idea what the process is, I find that comment a little unusual.
I would have thought that there'd be a person somewhere along the process that gets handed the final design and a bunch of reference pictures and has to make the final decision? (ie; give it a thumbs up to head for production or make a note that the designer has to change X or Y on the figure for it to be approved)?
For example, 2003 Kane's (half mask design, has been released a few times over) has a specific boot mould that is just for him. Kane, since he debuted, never had laces showing. He always had a smooth front on his boots (a glossy cover that velro'ed over the laces) yet almost every figure of his has a standard pair of boots with laces visible.
Is it just a case that the person approving this stuff has so much to do that they don't really care about the specifics and once it's 'close enough' it gets approved? I can't imagine things like changing the boot moulds from laced to laceless has any impact on cost of production?
(not trying to have a go - just genuinely curious).
Obviously, as a Kane fan, I could point out various errors without even needing a reference picture, but if you threw an Al Snow figure in front of me I'd shrug my shoulders and say "yeah, grand", but I would have thought reference pictures or reasons for picking different moulds/colours/finishes would need to be supplied by the designer to justify their choices?

I don't know if 'dick move' is quite the right way to put it when it's reflective of a business understanding they have widespread types of consumers with all different wants/needs, but I get the frustration. Hopefully in the future you'll be able to pick it up if you still want it. |

i agree with the setiment about releasing this so close to crowdfund release. seems wonky to do right now. but i get they also wanna open up the market to there ring mold they made. and this was easy to get out quick.

I have 2 new gen sets and have to buy this set to keep my ultimate edition collection 100%.
I have all ultimates moc and loose so far so i probably have to buy it twice and selling one Ring 🙈

We wouldn't need the Austin, since we already got it. I was meaning that the Austin UE that was released would've made sense to release along side the stage. However, I'm positive they weren't thinking that far ahead. It would be nice to get a UE Vince in War Zone commentary/corporate attire (not sure how likely that would be). I'll still be picking this up, but will part with the Kane. The win in this is that this means there is a plan in place to put out the raw stage so no complaints other than that. |
