I'll be the first guy to say that I thought Justin Gabriel and Evan Bourne would be HUGE in WWE bc of their finishers and styles. 450 and Gainer hadn't really been touted as finishers or regularly used as moves in WWE before those guys did it, to my knowledge. Neither had any personality I guess though or weren't ready. Can't say.
I also thought Alex Riley was going to be something so that shows how much I know lol

ricochet, I thought his role in Lucha Underground as Prince Puma was well done and would’ve translated well to the wwe audience
seriously, a mask could’ve helped him so much imo. marketability, hide his weaker points, I believe he could’ve been the answer to who’s after mysterio far better than sin cara.

He was a mid level wrestler in a big position on the card. He should have been Mexico's greatest export. That means he would have been a way bigger deal than he ended up being.

I never realized that was Ricochet *facepalm* even with the tattoos, he was so much cooler and mysterious in LU. Wow. That's almost as bad as not realizing Papa Shango was Godfather until I was about 17

That's almost as bad as not realizing Papa Shango was Godfather until I was about 17 Papa Shango! Add him to this list! Also, Raven would have been bigger in WWE if Vince didn’t dislike him so much. On a semi-related note, I’d say I thought Jean-Pierre LaFitte should have had a more sustained push, as well as Adam Bomb, although the rumour goes that the Kliq sabotaged them. Crush too, “Shakka, braddah!” I wanted him to win the title from Yoko and be the one that bodyslammed him first. Tyler Reks had an impressive look to him too. Shame Cena took exception to him using the Burning Hammer for a finisher. I suppose when you look at his whole career and potential, then I must say Big Show should have made a more lasting impression and not jobbed so much or turned so often. I agree with the vast majority of people mentioned so far, except Del Rio, he definitely overachieved.

Dolph Ziggler. In 2010/11 I honestly thought he'd be main eventing Mania's by this point.

Just saw some old WCW trading cards. Ice Train was on one. I thought he was strong, athletic and charismatic enough to develop into a bigger star.

Gail Kim's return to WWE around 2010 was really disappointing. I remember she had a match against Mickie James that should have been great on paper but completely fell apart in the ring. Sad. She did give the likes of Maryse, Alicia Fox and Kelly Kelly the best matches of their careers, but they still weren't memorable for most people and she usually lost.

Ryback in 2012 was on one. Even the face revival in 2014 I think had chance, but you could tell how out of place he was imo by 2015. When Rollins, Owens , Ambrose and Reigns, etc we’re now on the upper side of the card.
My brother always thought Ryback was just the flavor of the week and he was right.

They fudged Ryback badly....MVP too. Nobody was suggesting Ryback should have beaten Punk for the strap...but there was way to beat him...and make him look like a savage. But yknow....
Also sacrificing him to Henry at that WM after he got Henry up for his finisher was insanity. Crowd was absolutely deafening for him...air got sucked outta the room then.
