They may as well put Ricky Steamboat in his Wrestlemania III attire if they plan to play it safe. He hasn't been released in Ultimate articulation either. I noticed that Steve Ozer kept mentioning Cyndi Lauper in his Instagram video and with them already having the next SDCC signed, it makes me think that they have Cyndi Lauper signed to a deal. If it's just Cyndi Lauper, then easy pass. But if it comes with Roddy Piper or Lou Albano, that would be interesting. Also, since they didn't stray from the tights of the LJN figures for Jake and Rude, most likely Steamboat will be wearing the same black tights.  It would be criminal if they didnt make the red & black attire a chase. |

Dissapointed. Talk about 'playing it safe.' Yes they look great put next to eachother in their colour scheme. Sure they both are similar to their Hasbro attires but when we got the Hasbro Rude and Jake the Snake most of us were just glad to get them in figure form at all and understood that they probably had to use those attires because it was basic and they had budget factors. But most of us imagined then "ah would be great to get Rude and Jake the Snake from this specific event." Take a closer look at the Rude figure. He is pale skin colour and you can hardly see his abs, they don't stand out at all. And your going to be asked to pay premium prices for this? Also, look at the Coliseum Collection poll - there are about ten other choices ahead of Rick Rude, and Jake the Snake Roberts got just one vote! I think Rick Rude and I think Hasbro toy, not LJN. I thought they were doing this Coliseum Collection because they already had some unsigned talents in their back pocket to reveal. If you didn't have the new names that we wanted, then why do it? I would have got an Ultimate Rude. I would have got an Ultimate Jake. But not in these attires. I paid through the nose to get that Jake legends chase. And to re release him in Ultimate form not even two years later is a slap in the face. Bro, no one at Mattel cares that you paid stupid prices for a Jake Legends chase. Things get re-released all the time in the line. That's the risk you run when you buy through ebay or other scalpers. No one forced you to pay that price so the only slap in the face your getting is from yourself. Also, no one at Mattel can do much about a poll here made a few days ago when it seems like Rude and Jake have been in the works for months. It's the second wave. Give the team some time to release more waves. You might be pleasantly surprised at which figures they make for a change.
Last but not least, there's no need to be always worked up about something on here. We're talking about action figures here, guys. Lets chill out. You don't like it, that's fine. Just pass on it. No one is forcing you to buy anything. |

I really hope steamboat is in black tights, karate shoes, and a headsculpt similar to the ljn Me too. We've already had the WM3 all-white 3 times, and the all-red once. If they don't go with this one, the red and black tights in the picture on the card above would be great. Also, through in the black Gi, and maybe a more detailed pet "dragon" like they did with the UE Damien. If they do decide to go with white tights again, they should do his WM2 tights (image below), this way its different from previous white-gear Steamboats.  The purple tights would be cool to get, too:  |

I know it's supposed to be close to the LJN figure, but since they didn't do the purple boots, and the green isn't the same, I wonder if they should have gone with the translucent/vibrant green tights for Jake, this way it's different from the Legends Chase figure.  |

Funk matches poster (i heard the reasoning for this), jake matches poster and with rude he has a similar color scheme to his ljn but the style looks more like his hasbro. Would have preferred an approach similar to NECA and their Kenner tribute figures but it's not serious. Just happy to get new figures

The more I look at these, the more I like them. I think I'm looking forward to these two more than Hogan & Funk now.

Love the concept of this line, really cool idea by Mattel. The packaging is top tier as well and that always helps. I think the fact they aren't going to stores means this line will succeed big time, hardcore collectors will eat these up.

His LJN figure seems to be a combination of his Powers of Pain days (face paint) and his singles run (tights). Would you guys do the same look as his LJN figure? Or would you change it to his Powers of Pain team look since that fits in with the LJN years? Or would you do his singles run look - even though that look was after the LJN run.  |

I think I'd want Warlord's LJN look but I'd be fine if they just made a POP version.
I remember when Jakks made a Warlord with kind of an LJN-inspired look, that had me wondering if he had actually worn that and I just happened to miss it.
