Opinions that may not be shared by a lot of others
Mine is Vince never saw Bret as "the guy" that could carry the company
Vince used Bret to be a title holder while Vince worked on his pet project (Diesel, HBK) It's telling Luger was picked to lead the WWF after Hogan left not Bret, but Vince switched when he realized the crowd wasn't buying Luger
Vince knew Bret would never say "no" to holding a title because of how seriously Bret took wrestling and this is not a knock on Bret. I like him alot but I feel Vince was never 100% on Bret being the face of the WWF

Not that I'm defending HBK/Kliq for being jackasses but some stories I've heard about Vader being a bully guess it's a can dish it out but not take it case.

mr perefect got shafted by bret and hbk. bret cried about having to lose belt at mania, so they gave him KOTR, which according to wrestling observer newsletter, perfect was supposed to win the tourney
then shawn whined and cried about losing IC belt to perfect at sslam93, and vince gave into his boy toy

While Bret was great, I think he’s one of the biggest crybabies in wrestling history.
And I’m not referring to the Owen tragedy or his concussion and stroke. Just to be clear.
There’s a lot of stories about Bret pre 1999 and all he ever seemed to do was pitch a fit.

Yokozuna is the greatest Japanese wrestler of all time.
Jeff Jarrett, Shane Douglas & Lex Luger are the Nickelback of pro wrestling, how anyone doesn't turn off when they come on I don't know.
Kurt Angle tainted his legacy by spending so long in TNA.
CM Punk has himself to blame for not main eventing Wrestlemania because he didn't care about his appearance in a cosmetic promotion. He could have easily got in better shape. He already had the height just needed a better physique.
Cesaro has charisma.
Not everyone needs to be good at promos or even say anything at all. Goldberg should have never spoke a word other than "You're next."
Brad Armstrong & Dean Malenko should have a comedy stand-up tag team gimmick.
Goldberg hurt everyone he worked with.
Ric Flair never won a match with the Figure 4.
Dolph Ziggler hasn't won a match since cashing in Money in the Bank in 2013.
Big Show is still Andre's son in my eyes.
WCW was good from after Russo left until its closure.
Hogan was a legit 6 foot 10 at his peak.
The flatliner is the worst finishing move in the history of the business. It's often said to be a move that could be hit on anyone. But that's not true because it can't be hit on The Rock. Since the wrestler is basically doing The Rock Bottom on themselves by attemping it. Thus giving themself a finisher instead of giving one to Rock, their opponent.

Controversial but IMO Chris Jericho is overrated as a performer.

Ric Flair never won a match with the Figure 4. Not sure if serious but he made Jericho tap out with it at SummerSlam 2002.

My hot take is there aren’t really hot takes when it comes to any kind of art because it’s all subjective.
That said, if you took away nostalgia, cocaine, and steroids no one would hardly talk about the Ultimate Warrior nowadays. Guy cut bad promos with a lot of energy and only had a handful of good matches in which he was carried. The man himself was a nut job. Pretty much the Kanye of pro wrestlers, as far as personality, not talent.
Even looking outside his personal life, the guy really gave nothing back to the business. Look at any top name from that era and they ended up giving back. Even Hulk “that doesn’t work for me brother” spent his later years helping younger talent. Warrior? Spent his last active years getting into conflicts over money and no showing events. Sure he was part of a few big moments and a few big matches but he contributed nothing to pro wrestling in the long run. You could erase him from history and things would slightly have been different.

Big Show is one of the worst main event in ring performers of all time, I am not talking about WCW Giant here, but Big Show! Seems like a super nice dude, but he flat out sucks in the ring and as a character.
The WrestleMania XII was a massive disappointment and it only gets worse on repeat viewings, fantastic final few minutes, but this is the worst match Bert and Shawn had in my opinion.
Dolph Ziggler has never once stolen the show in his career
Alicia Fox is legit the worst in ring performer that I have ever seen, she came across as really nice on Total Divas, but man after so long how was she so bad. Just running in the ring made her look super awkward.
The WWF/E UK PPVs were far more entertaining than the filming of RAW and Smackdown that they do over here. I know for many these were pointless shows, but I always had far more fun at these.
The WWE has completely devalued the Royal Rumble by having two Rumble matches on the card.
As much as I love Andre the Giant, the way he treated the Ultimate Warrior was bullshit, he took complete liberties with the guy, yet people always give him a complete pass on it.

WCW 1999-2000 is still easily better than anything WWE was doing after 2005

Paul Heyman is more of a creative genius then Vince
Guys like Sandman, Taz, Sabu, Public Enemy, Whipwreck and many others got great financial deals from other companies as Heyman could hide their weaknesses.

Okay. You asked for it.
I never thought that Sherri Martel was the least bit attractive. I will never understand the love this board has for AJ Styles, Owen Hart, Brian Pillman & Cody Rhodes. Nidia can't do anything attractive. She looks, talks, wrestles & walks ugly. I can't stand Joey Styles' laugh or when he screams "Cat fight!" The best era for true wrestling was 1985-1989, unless you were watching the WWF. The only mark Tommy Dreamer will leave on wrestling is a skid mark. The only reason Diamond Dallas Page was pushed is because he & Bischoff swapped wives. Every time I see a picture of Rhea Ripley, Ruby Soho or Stephanie McMahon I hear this sound:
The acting in wrestling is worse than a 3rd grade play.

The WWF during the Attitude era was good, but personally I still feel it’s overrated. Again it was entertaining but I don’t look at the through the rose colored glasses most do.
I couldn’t get into ecw because it watched like a late night infomercial.
