I know you’re trying to make a point here, and a tiny bit of it I may agree with, but I only see you as the guy who threw a fit that they took D-X in blackface off of Peacock. :Spills your Hulkamania cup: They didn’t “OMG CANCEL!!!” Jay Strongbow. He’s been dead over a decade. He’s not losing his career. He’s not being erased from existence. They just didn’t release a toy of him they were going to. You can evidently still buy merch on him on WWE Shop. Some of the other names you listed aren’t getting figures anyways. I’m sure he’s in the afterlife throwing as big a fit. It’s almost been a year. Steve said it’s never happening. Move on or buy the Classic. I honestly don’t care. I have no actual interest or care about opinions on Jay Strongbow himself. I don’t care about the Star Trek reference either. I just was pointing out the possible reasoning they didn’t make it. You’re right, cancel DX. No more HBK or HHH figures. They did blackface, spoke jive, and started a race war between the NOD and the Hart Foundation by spray painting a bunch of racist phrases. As someone who’s 0.4% North African myself, I better never see their faces on my store shelves again. Im upset they brought back Teddy Long last night too considering he and Rodney Mack started the “whiteboy challenge.” (Oh wait, this one doesn’t count so his BAF is ok). Edge and Christian too for playing masked-luchadores that one time as well. You’re still not making the point you think you are. And you ignored my overall point to just continue to post essentially the same thing with different examples. You probably have a busy day tomorrow at your big boy job so get some sleep champ. WWF definitely portrayed Yoko as Japanese, and as a kid, I wholeheartedly thought he was. However, was it more them portraying a Polynesian man who was mentored by a Japanese man, in a traditional Japanese sport? There is no prerequisite for someone to be Japanese to compete in sumo.
They even did that sumo match on Raw with him and Earthquake where they talked about Quake's legit history with the sport in the buildup. They did generally portray Yoko as representing Japan, but yeah, I think a lot of it was just them portraying him as a sumo wrestler. It's nowhere near as much an issue as an Italian-American portraying a Native American. The one was largely representing a national sport he didn't really compete in, while the other was representing a tribal culture he didn't belong to, which was not an uncommon trend in TV and movies for decades; huge difference.

That's the highest rank in sumo, not a given name. The most recent yokozuna have heavily been from Mongolia, actually - 5 of the 6 promoted to that rank in the past two decades are Mongolian.

This is definitely getting locked, like every figure thread where someone brings up Jay Strongbow and people start getting bent out of shape. I made the mistake of trying to explain why bringing up Yoko isn’t the same as the case with Jay. The same old people got even more bent out of shape about it.
Maybe in the banter board you guys should start a Chief Jay Strongbow appreciation thread where you can complain about his toy not getting made? Idk. It’s never getting made so you’re just screaming into the void anyways. At least we could keep more threads alive.
To stay on the original topic, I really would love if we got a late 2003 Kane in Series 19. I really just want them to reuse that Elite 4 head.

They may not cancel dx but I guarantee they won’t make figures of them in blackface. When they do, you’ll have an argument. Luke Scarpa has not been cancelled but a figure of him masquerading as a person of another ethnicity isn’t being made. It’s very racist to think that if a whole ethnic group in large have deemed something offensive, that it’s ok to continue portray and profit from that. |

I don’t know who is up to date on American history, but maybe look up white men and their history with Native Americans. Claiming everyone is too sensitive in regards to real life issues against a race of people that resulted in many deaths while complaining about not getting a little plastic toy is also isn’t a good look.
