Jesus, can the mods just ban Jacobl soon? Every time I've seen him post over the last year he's been chirping at people about how he wants to cancel Razor Ramon and Yokozuna, but loves redface. I don't know if Twitter or truth social would be a better fit for him, but he's really bringing down the vibes on this wrestling figure forum. Ban me for having an opinion? Yoko wasn’t Japanese Scott Hall isn’t Cuban Strongbow isn’t Native American All I’m asking is why are the first 2 ok and the third one isn’t? Btw I don’t want to cancel any of them because I see nothing wrong with them. They’re actors playing a character on a tv show. Nothing racist at all. You’re the hypocrite that only wants to ban Strongbow. Mate if you can’t figure out why a white man depicting a native american stereotype is way different than the other things you mentioned, then you’re either: A) a little racist Or B) unfortunately your education system has failed you terribly |

Again, Yoko was billed as a Polynesian man who became a champion in sumo and chose to represent Japan and it’s culture with his part Japanese manager Mr Fuji. Polynesia and Japan have cultural ties. Not even remotely the same thing.
We will should just ban CJS figure posts. Whatever mod(s) have to clean this up, I’m sorry this has gotten so off track and I’m part of the reason.

Someone very far up the mattel/wwe executive ladder decided that due to the very specific HISTORY and CONTEXT of white people killing natives and then dressing up as them for racist entertainment, and the current day native ACTIVISM movements that very loudly decry and condemn such depictions, releasing a figure of a white guy doing redface would risk too much negative attention that wasn't worth the money they would make from such a niche figure. Samoan>japan and white>Cuban portrayals don't have the same CONTEXT, HISTORY or ACTIVISM surrounding them, and Yoko and Razor are bigger stars who will sell more merch, so they are getting a pass. More money, less risk of outcry. Simple as. Whether or not you think that's fair is irrelevant. The exec that made that decision isn't on this forum. Steve and Sweaty Bill wanted the figure to be made, or they wouldn't have planned and designed it. All you're doing every time you start hooting and hollering about Razor and Yoko is giving ammunition to the next mattel exec who can point to your posts as evidence that those two characters are also problematic and should be canceled. |

I think there are folks on this board that would like some form of moderation team to clean up the casual racism that exists on this board. I get wanting to get back on topic, but you have to clean things up first. That goes beyond locking a thread, mods need to actually deal with the racists. |
