I sold off my whole collection over the last year, as I’ve lost interest in not just wrestling, but especially wrestling figures. Mattel, in particular, are somehow still using molds from over a decade ago on most of their figures, even on their premium 30+ Ultimates line. The last Mattel I bought was Ultimate Roman, and for a 35+ figure, he used the same legs as the very first Roman over ten years ago, a torso that didn’t even come close to resembling him, a lei accessory that didn’t fit on his head with 2 of the 3 scans, etc. I wouldn’t even be posting this, but I saw the new SS wave on another site, and Zeus is still using a torso from 13 ing years ago. That is absolutely insane to me. Most of their molds are older than the Bucky cap mold that Hasbro fans crucify them for reusing, and rightfully so. But most seem completely content with buying the same figures for over a decade with a new head and paint job. To each their own

Pretty sure that was The Rolling Stones not Mattel. But now in my mind I can’t unsee Bill and Steve doing it on Karaoke night. lol *I don’t know why but I read the thread title as “satisfaction by Mattel.”

They are hitting for a pretty high average, great products across the board. I do not want the WWE license to go to Hasbro because I do not want my wrestling figures to be windowless. I tapped out on collecting GI Joe Classified because of this, so let's hope that either holier-than-thou Hasbro does not get the WWE license back and Mattel maintains the status quo (or at least finds a way to let us in-package collectors display the figures properly).

I have a love/hate relationship with Mattel.
I've been collecting wrestling figures since I was a kid with LJNs and Hasbro's, and it wasn't until I became an adult and Mattel took over that the figures became extremely hard to find and overpriced.
Quality of the products is A+, but my ability to get them has been very limited since they took over.

Haven't read the thread yet but ...
Overall, Mattel does a fine job. I love the plastic they use for the torsos, and the rubber for the arms/head/legs is just as good. Much better than anything S7 or Jazwares is doing. However, Mattel is still way off on proper body sizes. Always has been, always will be. I get the whole spreadsheet thing, and molds, and cost, etc. But come on ... almost every single figure has legs that are too thin. No one looks like that in real life. It's absurd really. The torsos and arms are decent enough. But man, those legs ... oof. I'm also not a fan of lazy face printing. I realize that it makes it look more like the wrestler, but more often than not the print is very rough. The eyes especially. But yeah, still way better than any other wrestling figure on the market that's for sure. And if you compare them to what Hasbro is doing with all the Marvel and DC stuff ... WWE figures far outshine those too.

Mattel are killing it with their design, range and these awesome unexpected figures we get. My only gripe is they treat anywhere outside the US as almost nonexistent and for example we here in Australia only seem to get the figures that were excess stock. We often do not get full lines of Elite waves only the peg warmers.

I am mostly satisfied and the majority of their minor issues are no different than any other mass market company which leads me to believe that's just how it is in this price range.
The only big problem consistently plaguing the line is random black marks, dots, and scuffs and random arms that are too tight or too loose. That stuff really drives me up a wall.
The pros include some of the best headscans and likenesses on any line out there and the best digital painting. TrueFX is leaps and bounds better than what we see on Star Wars and Marvel Legends. TrueFX has application misfires but when it gets it right they're beautiful. The deep parts catalogue keeps the figures looking interesting too. No overuse of a mold like Bucky Cap in the Legends line.
Also, we're in year 13. The selection is hard to beat now. I think they've closed the gap fairly well between Jakks and them. The number of unique figures we've gotten from Mattel balances out what Jakks gave and Mattel has not been able to do.

it is definitely not what it used to be... Why do you say that? Other than cutting down the articulation on Baaic figures, things have improved, IMO.
