The stage is absolutely amazing, and easily justifies the price imo for anyone who collects that era. I don't love the figure selection, but I'm not upset by it. Hogan moves the needle, and a WCW Hulk is still a glaring omission. Seems like a smart placement as the early bird - he sells merch and is a big name. Rey does nothing for me, but meh. I have the basic in that gear, so I would have preferred any other look. DDP should have been in jeans. Placing Steiner as the third tier is smart from a business perspective - that's probably the point where they see sales dragging, and that may push things to hit the next tier. Putting all the most desirable figures up front is great for collectors, but wouldn't help sales. Same idea with Warrior as the closer - there are some hardcore collectors who might jump in if it's close to hitting that tier.
Honestly I would pay $400 in a heartbeat for the stage alone. The rest of the package is a pure bonus to me. Hopefully the WM weekend rollout may draw in some non-collectors and casual fans. It's worth remembering that this forum is just a slice of the market - not everybody is as plugged in as we are. There were a ton of people during the last crowdfund who didn't even know the product released until after the window. Hopefully WM weekend exposure drives sales among a more casual audience.

We need someone who could buy like 30 sets. Still gets me upset that Sting isn't available. He would of been the perfect choice for this set. Ringside should buy some sets too... This is exactly why I just wanted the stage by itself. It could of been $250 by itself and I'd be okay with it. I still can't believe we got that yellow and red Hogan man. 97 Starrcade is a much better choice. Also, as someone mentioned, the nWo takeover sign would of been a sweet bonus.

I believe 5k is what it needs to reach and Rey comes with it regardless. Then why make it an unlockable tier? Why not just say it comes with it like they did with Diesel? reys not a tier. in the insta post is says hogan is early bonus, rey included with set, the tier 1 is ddp

I will buy this but I wish they would just sell the stage for $250 and drop all of the figures.
The stage is by far the highlight of this project.

I'm sorry, when I think of WCW, Rey is not the 1st person I think of.
He shouldn't have been the base figure.
Idk the more I think about it, the more I don't want it.

While the stage is great and something I always wanted, there isn't that figure here that isn't not getting an ultimate outside of I guess ing Warrior in jeans. The New Gen set had that wrinkle of Doink never getting an ultimate outside of the crowdfund. You know Jeans DDP is going to happen. Rey and Hogan and Steiner will get more ultimates. Should have had a spot for like a Mortis or Alex Wright or Juvi or Big Bubba, someone associated with WCW that you know will never ever see at retail. And yeah you can only make who you have signed, but damn seriously, Warrior in jeans.

CONFUSION!!! It says the early bird cut off is April 2024, then says we have until May 5th 2023 to get the project funded…. So which date was the screw up? Assuming the early bird one they meant April whatever day 2023, and not 2024? hopefully its meant to be may 2024 😭 no way this gets 5k in a month, yet alone 5k in a week for the early bonus. if it does get 5k i wouldnt be surprised most people walking away only with the stage and rey

Man… reading everyone’s initial reaction on here and other online platforms the overall reaction seems to be more negative and people just being deflated over the announcement as a whole.. With that behind said - I really hope we get that Steiner. I guess time will tell. It was very similar. I think, as a whole, this fanbase just reacts a lot more negatively than these projects in other lines. It seems like a very fair price for the size, scale, and quality of what they're offering. Are the figure choices knock your socks off? No. But I can't think of any other crowdfund project that was. The GI Joe HISS tank just had some generic troopers and a Cobra Commander misprint that literally nobody asked for. People still seemed very happy with the project and sales were strong.

I'm sorry if I'm being a bit much, but they should have waited to do this set when stings aew contract expired. If it ever does. There's always a chance in wrestling.
They should have done the raw stage first, cause who knows in 3 years if sting signs another legends deal? He would've been perfect in this set and I know why he couldnt, but Mattel didn't have to jump the gun either.

Spider-Man Rey woulda got me more pumped to see him as the figure bundled with the set. And before anyone says “but Marvel owns…” that attire wasn’t a 1:1 recreation of the Spidey costume. Plenty of “inspired by” attires have been made including Gargano’s Wolverine and Batman Rey.

It’s petty I know, but I am going to pass on this set mostly because DDP isn’t in jeans. That was the figure I was hoping for and don’t care for the rest of the selection. I’d rather have Scott Steiner in a different gear and I’m sure that will come out before too long.
The stage is neat but I don’t have the space for it.

I never hear anyone dying to have that Rey. And when I think of Nitro he's not the first to come to mind by a long shot. I know they want to keep heavy hitters like the chain metal big poppa pump, nwo bischoff, denim scott hall as future releases. But rey as the main attraction here is silly. I know the stage is the star of the show but figures are important and they needed someone more main event level. They're beholden to who they have access to obviously, but I agree. Choosing Rey over Bischoff was an odd choice. This is one of the reasons I'm worried as a wrestling collector. Mattels hands are tied and they can only make a small handful of new legends/alumni each year and we're seeing so many repeat figures it's boring. You can argue that (insert wrestler here) has many iconic looks, but unless you're a hardcore fan of that particular person, that marketing tactic is pretty weak. Choosing Rey as the pack-in fig is...not my first choice. But I never saw Bischoff as a fit for this item. Having a UE of him doesn't make a ton of sense, you're only really going to make one NWO figure of him, and he'll sell well in a Legends or Elite line. The WWE legends program definitely skews towards WWF talent over WCW. Maybe this gives Mattel some leverage to ask WWE to sign some additional WCW talent. But I have been very pleased with what Mattel has made with the roster available to them. I expect to see a surge of WCW talent over the next 18 months, similar to what we saw post New Gen ring. This is just the tip of the iceberg, and as a WCW fan I'm all for it.

Lol knowing what people are gonna charge on the second hand market for those two figures alone you're probably paying close to half the cost of the entire thing anyway. Odd logic. Not really, especially if you’re based outside of the US. A set you don’t want with some other figures you don’t want for £600 vs two figures you do want for £160 (assuming they go for similar to what Doink & Diesel do) - no brainer. Far from illogical. I'm in Canada. UE figures here cost $49.99, so almost $60 after tax depending on your Province. People were selling the Diesel and Doink UE's from the New Gen arena for $100-$120 EACH. The entire first crowdfund here in Canada was roughly $330-$350 depending on your Province. So on the secondary market, you're paying half, perhaps over half for just two figures. With the exclusivity of the figures in the Nitro crowdfund, don't be shocked to see Steiner or Warrior selling for up to 3 times their local retail cost. So yes, odd logic.

It’s been going on forever, you’d think with this being an Ultimate Edition it would get corrected. And I agree, DDP not being in jeans was a huge miss. Only figure I’m 100% excited for is Steiner.

Not something I need or want, but I hope everyone who wants it gets it unlocked. Realistically as others have said I think 9k is the goal, Steiner would be a really nice exclusive for this and probably his first or second figure by the time it comes out. I don’t think another UE warrior, especially that attire are gonna move another 2k people, good luck all!
