Just realized no chain mail for Scott. WTF? i dont think he started doing that till his singles run. Post-NWO. when he was wearing shorts. This is based on his heel turn. When he joined the NWO in 1998. He had a plain singlet for like a month. Then added the airbrushed designs Oh so they just picked a meh version of Big Poppa. Oh well. He’ll get one with the headgear eventually.

The more I think about this, I think the best way to phrase my initial reaction is that this seems like an interesting "all-or-nothing" gamble. I think if it reaches 11,000 backers, everyone who backs will see the set as worth it, and if it fails people will be pissed but get their money back and chalk it up to a failed crowdfund as other lines have had and more than survived to continue launching great crowdfund projects. But if it hits say 8,500 backers (which would be hitting the New Gen Arena # at double the price), will people be pissed they're spending $400 on a stage, Rey, DDP and Hogan(if they ordered early enough) as opposed to the two highly demanded figures? Obviously that's how crowdfunding works so I certainly wouldn't feel "bad" for those people, but it could create an weird situation where people are waiting a year for a set where they're not getting the figs they wanted (and likely the two with the most potential resale value for people who think about ordering and then subsidizing through resale). It's going to prove to be interesting to follow.

Not really, especially if you’re based outside of the US. A set you don’t want with some other figures you don’t want for £600 vs two figures you do want for £160 (assuming they go for similar to what Doink & Diesel do) - no brainer. Far from illogical. I'm in Canada. UE figures here cost $49.99, so almost $60 after tax depending on your Province. People were selling the Diesel and Doink UE's from the New Gen arena for $100-$120 EACH. The entire first crowdfund here in Canada was roughly $330-$350 depending on your Province. So on the secondary market, you're paying half, perhaps over half for just two figures. With the exclusivity of the figures in the Nitro crowdfund, don't be shocked to see Steiner or Warrior selling for up to 3 times their local retail cost. So yes, odd logic. People said that about new gen and the figures, they never went 3x value. Even the macho, still plenty of new gen stuff around now at about the same or less than some ultimates (Rock for example) have gone for.

They thought you wanted warrior in jeans. Honestly, street gear needs to stay with elites or basics, ultimates should never be in street gear, as it defeats the purpose of having ultimates with elaborate gear attached. (DDP is different as he wrestled in jeans for awhile so it would have made more sense here) Warrior is probably Mattel’s biggest legends seller. It’s a smart move to have him be the final tier to motivate more people to back it, especially in its final days. And him in jeans is probably his most remembered and requested look from that era. Especially considering how much his WCW UE is going for in the secondary market. But I didn't watch WCW. So they have to try and sell to a lot of people who didn't watch it. I love warrior, and have most of his figs, but I disagree on it being the 11k to nudge more people. New gen crawled to the 8k mark. I don't see this hitting 11k And if it doesn't? The hole thing isn't worth 400 imo. Especially a thrown in Hogan figure that looks exactly like his other 2 ultimates. I mean, forgive my ignorance, but you got a late WCW warrior, Steiner and DDP. But you have a debuting Hogan, with a late nitro stage? The attire choice is throwing me off. But did nitro have that stage when Hogan debuted? Forgive my ignorance 😂

The stage is amazing! Definitely backing. Only figure I have no interest in is the Rey. Other than that I'm hoping we hit all levels to get up to the warrior, but that's alot of units to move. How many of thr new generation sets were sold?

Extremely happy with that deal haha.

coming from an absolute cancer to the community, thats hilarious. I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way towards him. Watch out because I think both of his fans are still lurking this forum. Just kidding. I do not mind him as a wrestler at all. But the way he treats his fans is insane considering how he does all he can to shill merch/exclusive toys/Patreon for MWF. coming from an absolute cancer to the community, thats hilarious. I found his comment obnoxious, but what makes him a cancer to the community? Just curious, not trying to argue. I've seen first hand accounts of plenty of shady/disrespectful trades or business with him. Low balls people like crazy and then harrasses them when they say no to his ridiculous offers. Will do trades with people and his part of the trade isn't up to the standard he says it is. And when people speak up he just calls them a mark and blocks them. Thinks he can offer you $20 and a signed 8x10 for a grail item. And at least one time he refused to replace a ruined 8x10 he sent because it "wasn't his fault" it got ruined in the mail. I imagine he has just about an endless supply of 8x10s and its his own autograph, and that guy probably gave him a sweet deal if he's taking a signed photo in return. Then blocked the guy for asking for a new one. Just seems like a carny move to me. Almost always flying colors for Mattel but is quick to ruin the reputation of smaller toy companies who don't buddy up with his brand or let his YouTube break the news of new figures coming out. And then just add in all of his comments like this!! Dude just told everyone that they aren't real fans and their collection doesn't mean s*** if you don't cough up $400 and get this thing backed. He's always stooging like this.

I knew he would have a comment. This is very deliberate and goes deeper than Cardona thinks it’s cool so I should get it.

They're beholden to who they have access to obviously, but I agree. Choosing Rey over Bischoff was an odd choice. This is one of the reasons I'm worried as a wrestling collector. Mattels hands are tied and they can only make a small handful of new legends/alumni each year and we're seeing so many repeat figures it's boring. You can argue that (insert wrestler here) has many iconic looks, but unless you're a hardcore fan of that particular person, that marketing tactic is pretty weak. Choosing Rey as the pack-in fig is...not my first choice. But I never saw Bischoff as a fit for this item. Having a UE of him doesn't make a ton of sense, you're only really going to make one NWO figure of him, and he'll sell well in a Legends or Elite line. The WWE legends program definitely skews towards WWF talent over WCW. Maybe this gives Mattel some leverage to ask WWE to sign some additional WCW talent. But I have been very pleased with what Mattel has made with the roster available to them. I expect to see a surge of WCW talent over the next 18 months, similar to what we saw post New Gen ring. This is just the tip of the iceberg, and as a WCW fan I'm all for it. Yeah good point. I do feel that Bischoff is better executed from an elite standpoint, but conversely, he's also the perfect type of character to execute in a crowdfund. I guess the decision (if there was one) came down to molds/making a new UE mold for him. And that's encouraging whether you back this or not, that more WCW talent could be on the way. 2022 was the year of the belt, where we saw so many new titles being added to the line. And kudos to Mattel for their work to make those all happen. WCW-wise, I really hope we get some iconic mid-card talent instead of more Booker T, Rey Mysterio, Hogan, Hall, Nash, etc. I'm sure Mattel pushes for figures of a lot of talent and get denied, but man, having figures of Konnan, Glacier, Mortis, Norman Smiley, Buff Bagwell, Disco Inferno, La Parka, Juventud Guerrera, and Kidman just to name a few, would be huge wins for WCW fans.

It still work because he did have that look during Nitro, but still...there are other Hogans that would have worked better.

Annoyingly I want this to succeed because as a Warrior collector I want two.
No way I’m backing unless it gets to 11k though

I’m going to back 2 sets because I buy 2 of everything Ultimate wise.
The New Gen Arena thread was by far THE greatest thread in WFIGS history with how happy we were to get it backed. I’m predicting the Nitro arena will be the opposite and one of the most toxic treads in WFIGS history with the amount of arguing and complaining.
