If you’re old enough to remember WCW, then you should be old enough to have a decent of a job to afford a $400 toy. If not, then it’s simple, just don’t buy it. I’m sure there’s a reason this is wcw, it’s something they know adults can afford. If they do something modern, then I’m sure it wouldn’t be $400 because they know most of y’all’s parents aren’t gonna buy it for you, and majority of the ones on here crying about cost are probably the ones who don’t even know what wcw is.

Reading comments across multiple platforms I don’t see this thing getting close to 11k. They will have to dump a surprise that would be better than the Macho for the last crowd fund. People that I thought would be in no matter what are saying they don’t have room and and aren’t blown away by the figure choice. Overall I think toy crowdfunds are dead in the current economic climate Extra early bird Halloween Havoc Macho Man I’m telling ya. 12k backed day one

Whats boring about him? It’s his most iconic look. Plus he’s gonna have 2 soft goods shirts, 2 bandanas, and maybe a first time ever WCW Big Gold Belt (unless Steve clarifies it will be the WWE version). It’s a red and yellow Hogan. Plenty of those exist already. Not really much meat on that bone. There are zero yellow trunks WCW Hogan figures. Plus something like this has to have somewhat mass appeal. The goal should be to try and get the attention of some casual fans that may jump in for the first time after seeing this.

I say someone makes an Official Ultimate Edition WCW Monday Nitro Entrance Stage Thread. Get us out of the 30 or so pages at the beginning of us all speculating.
The hype/love/torture/anger/hysteria that the The New Gen thread brought is missed.

There will be ABSOLUTE censorship by the PTB and wannabe mods for anyone who goes against the narrative of this crowdfund. Considering there are like 15 pages of lewis ranging from extremely positive to extremely negative since this morning, I'm curious which of them you think the "narrative" will be. PTB narrative is AGGRESSIVE backing with the denouncing and expulsion of those dare to voice concerns that could be read by those on the fence!

I know WWE doesn't have too many WCW names from that era available to them under licensing deals so the options are limited for sure. However, who would you suggest they could have gone with that would have better fit that Doink slot - meaning a person/character that likely wouldn't have ever gotten the UE treatment outside of a crowdfund project like this? I could see booker getting a mainline ult A nwo Stevie ray would've been perfect don't know if signed tho Nwo bischoff NWO bischoff will get a mainline or at worst RSC exclusive. Better tiers in my opinion would have been Early bird: bischoff (pre NWO) and nitro announcers desk. Tier one (replacing Rey): DDP in jeans Tier two: NWO disciple Tier three: Steiner Tier four: wcw debut piper. All looks we haven’t got of characters under contract. Compared to the the re releases we’re getting.

I like Cardona, but that's an utterly stupid remark. We are in a cost of living crisis across the world right now, and very few people have $400 (or upwards of £500 if you're in the U.K.) to spend on toys.
I love the set, indifferent about the figures - but this is a very short sighted idea from Mattel.

Look at the 80s nostalgia boom over the last decade plus. The generation who were kids back then and grew up with those shows/characters are now adults who fall right into that prime consumer demographic. I've gotten more Thundercats toys in my 30s than I ever had as a kid. I will be passing on this one strictly because of space issues as I have absolutely nowhere for this thing to go, but it does appeal to me because I was flipping between Raw and Nitro when I was ten years old. While I will always be more of a WWF diehard, there is definitely a deep nostalgia for WCW during those glory days. We even had our own Nitro parties during the summer when we were allowed to stay up late and stuff our faces with Doritos as well as drink a ton of soda at unspeakable hours. Hearing a frantic Tony Schiavone sign off during a chaotic ending still fills me with joy. That being said, I don't know if WCW resonates as well with people who just weren't around watching during its heyday. Then again, I felt that way about the New Generation set and people came out of the woodwork to make that a reality, but then again does the heftier price tag of this Nitro set cause people to reconsider?

This board is full of the most miserable people on earth, my god, no wonder Cardona is a kingpin around here I don’t even care about the cost or whatever cuz I’m already not buying it but wow what a miserable sentiment for you to have, that’s shows no understanding of like, any socio-economic issues Then again why am I using big words like that on a wrestling board, it is me who is really the idiot

I just took out a measuring tape to help visualize the actual size of this and my lord, I don't even know where I would display it.
It's just over 3ft wide....this thing would require its own table to be displayed on.

Everything looks amazing but just not for me and I'm kinda glad about that. I get to put that $400 to something I really want and the people that wanted the stage and these figs gets them. I just don't need another Hogan or Rey and these definitely wouldn't be my first options for Scott and Warrior. So unless they throw a surprise at us later, its a pass for me.
