I understand that a lot of these are not their iconic looks, but my thought is that there are a number of other things that could come into play to help get this funded.
We have Wrestlemania Axxess this weekend, and thinking 'big picture' I have a feeling that this is just the beginning of the 'Monday Night Wars' collection. Just some guesses here, but.....
First, the Nitro Stage crowdfund to start it off.
Second, good or bad, there will be a Wal-Mart exclusive line for Monday Night Wars, which will include both WWF and WCW figures from 95-2001. This is where we will see things like debut Hall & Nash, NWO Bischoff, and Jeans DDP.
We will see an increase in figures from this timeframe in all the regular lines, and also the Legends line.
I would not be surprised if there was an announcer table set, along with a WCW ring exclusive from Ringside of announcer Bischoff. This could be an announcer table along with a curtain behind it. A perfect world would be announcer Mongo. Wrestling Mongo could also then be in the MNW line from Wal-Mart.
Finally, the initiative would end next year, with the announcement of the next year's crowdfund from the Monday Night Wars - the Raw Stage.
I am most likely way off on all this, but would love for this to be true.

I truly hope access is a slam dunk and they have a way for viewers to back it then and there.

I'm sorry, but I really don't get why there's so much attention on the figures. The item IS the stage. That's what they're selling. The figures are just window dressing, and they've been more or less throw-ins with any crowdfunded project. Expecting high deco or high demand figures packed with the stage never made sense. Haslab Sail Barge - $499, 3.75in Jabba and Yak Face figures Haslab Sentinel - $349, 6in Bastion fig, 2 alternate heads Haslab Galactus - $399, Nova, Silver Surfer, and Morg 6in figs Haslab Skystriker, $229, 3 Cobra 3.75 early bird, 1 3.75 Scarlett, additional tiers not unlocked Haslab GI Joe HISS Tank & 6in driver - $299, early bird 6in HISS Tactician, 2 tiers of accessory upgrades, 6in gunner & Cobra Commander stretch goals Mattel Creations New Gen & UE Diesel - $250, Doink UE stretch, Macho Man early bird Mattel Creations Eternia - $550, earlybird King Grayskull, moat creature, Keclar stretch goals For the size, detail, and lighting effects, the stage itself is very fairly priced. UE figures are far more involved (both deco and articulation) than anything else in similar projects. And they've added an earlybird and 3 figure tiers of stretch goals. If it's too big, too expensive, etc - I get it. But this item is VERY fairly priced and loaded with value even if it's just the first two figures. I would’ve probably paid $400 just for the stage. But you got to realize, most ppl on here are never happy.

Yeah most of the complaints feel like it’s just that people will never be satisfied by these kind of offerings. The thing about Hogan & DDP tho I think is a pretty valid complaint, they’ve done tights DDP before and they already have jeans legs and a rib tape mold, and with Hogan I understand why they chose this attire but they probably could’ve chose. Something a little more unique to get people into it like the dark side of Hulkamania or another Hollywood Hogan but with better pigment But overall it’s very nice and it looks like they made the carpeting that’s supposed to look like metal a bit nicer between the first time it was shown and now And if they would’ve done a jeans DDP, those ppl complaining about the tights ddp would be complaining about having 2 figures in the set with jeans. Ppl here are never happy.

When Mattel showed these 2 wonderful stages there was major positive feedback from fans across all social media and figure forum platforms. It was a test to see how we felt about BOTH stages and I know they have this planned very similar to how you’ve laid it out. They have to be thinking long term here and the Monday Night War theme is one of the biggest and most popular time in wrestling history. This Nitro stage is absolutely amazing and if we back this crowdfund Mattel will see our dedication and release so many more WCW figures and the ring for the next few years. Then as you said they must finish the War just like WWE did and release the RAW Stage.

That thing sold beautifully. Idk bout this tho, I think the stage will get backed but not fast sbd we will miss out on Hogan and others. I'm backing 1 but I'm not looking forward to just only the stage and Rey

This one is going to be a little tough for me to justify backing. While the stage is fantastic, I will never have a space to display it so it's basically going to be useless to me. And reselling it being that large is going to be a huge pain so that doesn't help.
The figure choices themselves really aren't doing anything for me either. I can basically make that exact Hogan using the Amazon Hogan and the new Legends Hogan that will be out next month. And while I'd like the Rey, DDP and Steiner, I feel all 3 could probably get future mainline releases. And I wouldn't lose any sleep if they didn't. And I have absolutely zero interest in a street clothes Warrior.
So when it's all said and done as much as I want to support these crowd funds I likely won't be backing this one. I'd have zero issues spending $50 each if they sold the figures by themselves, but spending $400 to get maybe just Rey if that's as high as it gets is just ludicrous.

Kinda hoping we get a “oops.. we forgot something” and tell us Booker T or someone cool is apart of the base price Bischoff with Harley bike As long as it's not bigger than Hogan's. No one can have a bigger hog than him, dude

It looks like you have to piece together the stage floor, which means I can just remove the end-pieces. Screenshot below, there is nothing stopping me from just covering up parts of the entry way with the big WCW logos. Pretty sure they can just balance and hang off the edges, this cuts the size of this thing in half.

I wonder if Mattel has the WCW announcers set (or anything, really) on-hold if they need to boost backers I’ve been thinking this all day as well. Even with the New Gen set they released an announcers table. I know it was a basic set but would be a wise decision to release a WCW announcers set if things look bad early. I agree it could be anything really though. I just would hope they had something ready just in case cause this thing is just too perfect not to be funded.

I think I read in the description that you can reposition it several ways. If that's true, it'll be awesome to see people set their variations. I remember when WCW had the sideway getup. I might be looking into out a little red fabric on mine to make it look like the one from WCW/NWO Revenge

Also after looking at the figures more, they're all pretty good, Hogan is a little meh, but that Warrior is just bad. Contender for worst UE figure yet.

They were smart to make Warrior the last stretch goal. I think more people will start jumping aboard when they show the soft goods/entrance gear for the figures, especially Warrior’s coat.

The figure is a year and a half away from being released and none of the accessories including the duster, which will make it look 100x better, haven’t even been shown.
