I'll jump in on this once it reaches DDP and Steiner levels. No point before that Not telling you what to do, but if everyone is using that mentality it’s not going to reach either of them.

My opinion on timing:
Any time of the year can be called a "bad time" to release something like this.
What I dont agree with is how fast they announce these things. They make an official announcement, then the campaign goes live 3 or 4 days later. That's not enough time for most to decide if they can budget for something that expensive.
I feel like they should make an official announcement a month or so before the campaign launches. That gives people time to start budgeting, and it builds hype. Make 'em wait. As things stand right now, I fell like a lot of people cannot put $400 in leisure money together within a few days notice, and they feel left out and turned off altogether if they miss out on any early birds.

What the backer count at? Don't know if it's just me but on my phone it's been stuck at 2001 for about 2 hrs Well, at least it's not going backwards... I thought a few might cancel once they weren't getting Hogan.

I'm definitely canceling. If it does make it to 5000 I'm totally not paying $400 for the stage and a mysterio. The hulk helped soften the blow. I just need some more meat on the bones than 1 figure.

Why is Hogan still plastered all over the site for the campaign? Almost feels like Mattel is hoping people won’t realize the deadline for him has passed. Surely they could’ve removed him by now if they wanted.

I don't see any way this gets backed. Mattel cannot change the terms now -- because then it sets the precedent they will change the terms every time.
It's struggling to get to 5,000 -- which is not a great deal. 400 for the stage and *1* figure.
There's not confidence it will unlock the other figures, so people don't want to jump in. And there is just not demand for 11,000. If it gets that high, a lot of people would be buying to resell. But with 11,000 -- it won't be nearly as valuable.
This one sadly looks unsalvageable. SUCH a cool item though.

If u are a US backer there is a 12 month payment plan so there’s no need to put $400 together quickly.

SUCH a cool item though. 2000 backers after a week and half. 27 more days to go. It’s doing fine time wise. Most saying they didn’t want the Hulk figure are now clamoring for the Hulk figure. Makes no sense.

Especially as you can always cancel afterwards/if it doesn't reach the tiers you want. I'm not sure how many more backers it will get once people see a figure is removed...

I would advise people not to cancel just yet incase mattel unleashes a plan B.

Makes no sense. Why would anyone not accept the Hogan figure if it was “free”? If they didn’t care for it they could have sold or traded it. One would think the overwhelming majority of people who wants this would have backed up by yesterday.

How do cancellations work on a crowd fund project's progress? Does the ticker reflect cancellations? Just thinking it would be a bummer for those who back to barely cross a tier only to then drop back down due to cancellations.

This thing as well as the raw set looked amazing. I saw the raw one in person last year at mania. Unfortunately doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. Can’t see more people backing now when they’re going to get less.

The Ghost Rider car that Marvel Legends tried to do reflected cancelations in the ticker. Not sure about Mattel.

I would advise people not to cancel just yet incase mattel unleashes a plan B. I was telling myself that this morning when I woke up and realized that HH was not unlocked, the only reason I funded my 2x. I am going to give it until right before it hits 5k. Sounds shady for those that are apathetic to HH, but it is what it is...
