For those unhappy we added another tier at 11K and insinuating it’s “greed”, many of you asked more more tiers for the New Gen Arena after everything was unlocked. We preemptively made sure that was in place for this one. Maybe we hit that goal, maybe we don’t, but it’s in place for something to shoot for.

Mattel could have really made this an event like every Monday until the end of the crowd fund reveal what the next tier would be or something g like that. Whoever is marketing this has no idea how to build hype. It’s like here it is…buy it. You either incentivize out of the gate and give full transparency or you pulse out info with tier reveals with the hope that the core item itself that many collectors said they absolutely wanted was strong enough to move the needle on this own. The team decided to go with transparency and created moments of excitement via things like the livestream and announcements of the Monday Night War line. Not to mention getting feedback and creating hype nearly a year in advance with the initial dio build.

The New Gen Arena had the perfect price point $250 (280 including shipping) for an Ultimate Ring and 3 figures, a ring with an ultimate figure sells for $140, Ultimates retail for 32.99,meaning the entrance stage and the extra set of ring skirts have an approximate value of $44 which seems fair. Yes the nitro stage that was first seen at Axxess was amazing and everyone wanted one, personally I would have preferred a slightly scaled down version, anything over 20 inches in width is difficult to display. Maybe it would have been better if it was slightly smaller with less lights and only had DDP Steiner and any other name for $250. Sure $250 would have been a much more palatable price but we gave it a shot of executing the stage as accurately as possible. It’s kinda what having the option of crowdfunding is all about. And people did seem to overwhelmingly want it as is at the time. But here we are…

I've actually seen the stage advertised on YouTube, the last couple of times I've been on... so that's something.

I’m not gonna lose hope yet. Towards the end of these things there’s a spike but mattel does need to pull out the stops

What? I've been lead to believe if this was the Raw stage they'd have moved 15,000 units by now. In another alternate universe the figures were Steiner, Glacier, Mortis, Meng and Savage with a scale Georgia Dome for $150. WFigs still complains. These are some of the most accurate statements in this whole thread. 😂 I agree one million percent with Steve. I wouldn't blame him if he left considering all the cry babies around here. If you don't want to back it fine but blaming it on the cost of eggs is stupid.

I'm not losing hope yet either. I still want that stage so I hope everything works out in the end. Once in a life time collectors piece right there would hate for it to never see the light of day.

So here is my thought on how Mattel can pull this out.
I know they don't want to 'go back on their word' with the Early Bird, but if they want to spike this (at least a little bit) - just add Hogan to the basis. If you get 5,001 total backers, you get the Stage, Hogan, and Rey. That is the same that would happen If they hit 5,000 on Friday, and no more backed, so add Hogan to the basic set, and let's see how that changes things.

I don't have a business cap like others do but I think that's a good idea and hopefully something like that can be worked out.

I also thought this stage was the right choice, which is why I backed it despite issues. Real shame it went this way.

I truly have no idea how things could potentially evolve if at all but would this exact scenario really move the needle after all the initial backlash on that particular figure?

The stage is legitimately the nicest wrestling figure accessory I’ve ever seen. I would pay $400 for it with no figures. Will be such a shame to not have it or the raw stage made.
Still hoping it happens.

The beauty of a crowdfund is that it allows you to take chances while reducing some of the risk. If the people decide this isn’t something they ultimately want, then so be it. It’d be a bummer for sure for those that wanted a scale stage to not have this but it is what it is.

It certainly couldn't make the situation any worse. At least when Hogan was on the line you got 10 backers an hour not 10 a day.

It's literally the only thing stopping me and others from backing. Thanks

Steve, move Steiner into Rey’s spot and watch it takeoff!

Still hoping it happens. I would also. No hesitation. But this is obviously a figure driven business much more so than a playset or accessory business. But I still want to believe there are at least 5 thousand of us who want items like this.

I really don't think there's not 5k who want this and you keep saying similar things that I just don't think are accurate. This is a desirable item, however, the contents as a whole are not desirable for its price point, especially given how different things are economiclly since the New Gen Crowdfunding. This isn't an attack on you but continuing to put the onus of this struggling on the consumer and not acknowledging the numerous mistakes and issues with the project is a good indication as to why this is going how it's going.

Still think that they should have made macho man the bonus instead of hogan I doubt that would’ve made a difference. People have complained about every single figure offered, with the fewest complaints relating to Steiner (and those are basically just attire choice). Lots of people want the Hogan, and there’s already 950 Ultimate cowboy Macho in tights figures with more on the way. Unless there’s thousands of Macho completionists you’d likely be trading the same problem for the same problem. I feel like the main reason this didn’t get to 5k already is the hit that many overseas collectors are (rightfully) not willing to take. Another problem that most aren’t talking about is that lots of people bought multiple New Gen Arenas thinking that they’d become millionaires by reselling them and that just didn’t happen. (Remember the Steiner Math ‘dood, if you don’t want it, buy two. The Macho alone will pay for the entire cost on the secondary market? Pepperidge Farm remembers.) The stage set is awesome the way it is, and would’ve been worthwhile. People who think that they have the magic bullet will debate until the cows come home. Regardless of what armchair toy designers/marketers think Mattel know what they’re doing.

I guess Mattel really wanted this to be moving so slowly and it be near universally criticized for its issues, I mean as you said they know what they are doing so that must be the case.
