At this point I see more people complaining about people complaining than people actually complaining about the crowdfund. The addition of Steiner is the right direction, take the W. It’s only me who’s complaining on here and getting ignored by Steve despite having valid concerns. Everybody else has seriously seriously turned into the teachers pet all of a sudden. Guys relax Steve isn’t hiring any of you guys to work at Mattel, give up the facade and stop being 2 faced. Be honest and genuine. I mean...I can see why you are being ignored lol. I also brought up criticism and was ignored but you don't see me throwing a tantrum over it and calling everyone else marks for Steve just because they like him.

Because to be fair, the reasons you listed in your post before this are opinion-based. For full transparency, I've been quite vocal in this thread about the position I'm in as a Canadian collector wanting to back this, but even then when I read posts like yours I shake my head. Just because something isn't being done the way you want it to be done doesn't mean anyone at Mattel is doing a half-assed job, or is trying to cheat us. To take your side for a moment here, would future crowdfunds maybe benefit from official fan polls where we're asked what figures we would hypothetically like to see (before the project is officially announced?) Perhaps, but that's not up to us to decide. Steve and I'm sure other people on his team have their ears to the ground and are acutely aware of the wants and needs of their customers. Does that mean every single one of those things is going to happen though? I mean be realistic for a moment, do you actually think that including Warrior in this crowdfund was a bad idea? It was a former Jakks 1 of 20 figure that practically no one could get their hands on. Including a figure like that in a crowdfund is a fair execution for it. At the end of the day, everyone should be allowed and encouraged to voice their opinions, but finger pointing and childish comments don't help your case honestly. It was due to constructive criticism across social media that I'm sure made Steve consider a pivot to this crowdfund, not negativity. With all due respect perhaps the team should’ve done their homework before choosing on which figures are included. The poll is an excellent idea since this is a CROWD FUNDER which means we’re paying for the production of this set, so yes, if the team apparently isn’t cutting it with minimal accessories despite being “ultimates”, then we have a right to have at least a slight choice about who we get. For 400 dollars this has been a disaster and the evidence is clear as daylight. Come on, I cant be the only person here not blinded by rose tinted glasses and kissing butt. Toy can’t tell me these choices make any sense. This is exactly just like the Haslab from last year… I do agree with you that a poll to see which figures to be included would be a great idea going forward. Mattel could pick about 8-10 wrestlers that they have signed who could go with the crowdfunding item, then have the people pick which 4-5 wrestlers they would like to see included in the overall product. Maybe even after the wrestlers have been picked, do a poll to see which attire would be best/most wanted for each of the figures. Though, this would take some time. However, even with this method, there would still be complaining about the wrestlers chosen or the attires - just look at the fan takeover wave. Personally, I think it would be great if this does get funded, at least to the first tier (the stage and 2 figures), if we (each backer) were allowed to choose which two figures out of the five listed we wanted. So, for instance, if I wanted Steiner & Warrior, I'd get Steiner and Warrior with the stage. But if someone else wanted DDP & Hogan, they'd get DDP & Hogan with the stage, and so on. Though, I'm not sure if that would be feasible. I think they would have to make a certain number of each figure (a minimum 5,000) for it to be profitable.

I do wonder how successful a crowdfund with no figures would be?
There’s a lot of fuss and distractions around the stage when thats the steak and the figures are garnish.
I imagine the first complaint would be there’s no figures, but once that’s settled it may be less of a distraction?
I dunno off the top of my head the stage being the first level, then table and headsets the second, some nitro branded chairs and maybe the flame floor mats for three then four could be barriers to go round the ring? It might not work or have any interest but it’s a thought. Just hypothetical of course.

Okay fair MNW started in 95, still doesn’t make sense to go with figures that didn’t appear on this specific set. Terminator needs licensing? Fair enough, there still many versions of nWo Hogan they could’ve went with. Macho still came with a table, period. But even then, why are these Ultimates getting shafted in the accessory department? Especially for that hefty price tag? Lastly clearly it’s not only myself that doesn’t think these big sellers aren’t are doing the job as this project has been teetering on the 2000 mark for almost a week now. I think the biggest reason for the low numbers is the price (especially for overseas customers), not necessarily the figures (unless maybe the order they are in). Also, a good reason why the first crowdfund made it was because people backed multiple sets, it's a lot harder to back something that costs almost double what the previous one cost. I don't think the Ultimate's are getting shafted, they all come with multiple heads and hands. Hogan, Warrior, and Rey each come with a soft goods item. DDP comes with a vest. And Steiner and Hogan both come with a championship belt. Not to mention that 4 of the figures come with brand new tooling (Hogan's belt, DDP's hands, Steiner's arms and torso, and Warriors pelvic area and legs). That seems about normal for all UE figures. Yes, while Rey and Hogan in the attire choices that chose for the figures did not appear on that specific stage, both guys at other times did come out of that entrance. And, even though that is Hogan's debut attire, I'm sure he entered through that specific entrance a time or two in the same gear. I don’t know man, there’s a reason why people aren’t backing this and yes one has to do with the price but not because it’s 400 dollars but rather because there is no value for their money in this package. There were many character options to go with and not just jobbers but quintessential MNW players. Eddy Guerrero, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Syxx, Piper, Buff Bagwell, Konan, any of the FOTF guys, Harlem Heat, Bam Bam Bigelow, Miss Elizabeth, Curt Hennig, The Disciple, Alex Wright, the list goes on.

It's beyond clear at this point what the important part of the crowdfunds are.

Anything I can think of whether it's an entrance stage, a set like Piper's Pit, or a vehicle like Eddie's lowrider, Undertaker's bike, or JBL's limo all would be best offered with a figure alongside them. I guess rings or diorama's could get away with being "a la carte" though.

They’ve already said they won’t crowdfund figures alone I think a figure pack would crowdfund great, my ideal crowdfund round be a set of legends in a pvc style carry case from the 80s / very early 90s which I think would really appeal to people’s collections. However they’re not going to do just figures and both crowdfunds (this more so) have been dominated by talk of the figures.

Some figures don't move at regular stores, so they probably wouldn't have been a great fit either. But again, you run into the same problem, even if they went with 5 of these guys, that doesn't mean people would be happy with the figures, they'd be asking where's Hogan, DDP, Steiner, etc. Mattel is kind of in a lose-lose situation. You can't make everyone happy.

Like the one I suggested above stuff to complement the main piece. e.g. we have the attitude ring, if they do the stage then maybe the stage could have tiers built around: barriers, ring mats, black chairs, alternate skirts for PPV, etc to build out a full world. When I say chairs I mean I’m talking like 30,40,50 whatever’s needed to go around the ring or build a few rows on a couple of sides etc, People who get the stage will likely be those with big displays, doing photography, etc snd you get a lot of third party companies / people doing the ancillary stuff to build out the world but they could include in the tiers?

I dunno dude, I’m just pissed off that this could’ve been much better than what it has become.

Judging by how little "value" most people have put into their critiques of both the New Gen Arena and this, I'm going to say it wouldn't work. Not at the kind of scales we've seen the past two times anyway. Maybe something small like a Piper's Pit diorama, but that likely would require a Piper figure.

Then you should know the answer to your question, the answer is it wouldn't go well. Mattel may think the stages are the draw, but the design team needs to come to terms with that isn't reality and plan these things with that in mind. But if they tried to just sell the stage it would flop, people are willing to drop hundreds on figures they desperately one, not on play sets that are too big to display.

Imagine a set with Steiner and Buff in his overhauls! Jakks signed their own talent. And when Mattel first got the license they signed their own talent also (Macho, Von Erich’s, Steamboat & Warrior) But now Mattel can only make who the WWE has signed to a legends/merchandise deal and even then the WWE has to approve who is made.
