One thing I don’t understand about the Steiner it it’s supposed to mimick the toybiz fig is why the star isn’t also on his back? I was thinking the exact same thing when someone pointed that out and I went to check out photos of that fig.

Also, for cool trivia reference the ToyBiz version had the Superman logo. I wonder how the hell they got away with it. There was also a black singlet variant. I legit looked for the reference just to know that he never wore a black singlet in his big poppa pump days. It came out way after he was already in the shorts and I'm guessing they didn't have the time or budget to make a body type to update him

Probably had something to do with WCW being under the Time Warner banner along with DC Comics. Ahh, I had no idea. I thought they were just being ballsy and got away with it due to it not being noticable and being in the late 90s.

I think it looks cool.

It can certainly be argued that it still may not even be produced. Maybe go to AFA Q&A thread and see if you can get your question answered there? Theres not really a question cuz I fully expect what was shown is what we’re gonna get and just dissatisfied in the execution of that figure. Hi Steve Is the Scott Steiner deco set in stone? It looks like a homage to the old Toybiz version but it’s still missing some deco. Are we able to get the UE deco to look something like this; <insert examples> Thank you ^ there you go, question done and all you need to do is copy and paste.

I had some additional discussions with the Mattel Creations team today regarding payment, international pricing, shipping, etc. Please see below for the latest details.
1. For those of you ordering from the following countries: Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and Japan, prices on Mattel Creations are shown in local currency. The price you'll see is inclusive of import duties and taxes. For all other regions, prices on Mattel Creations are shown in U.S. dollars (USD). The USD price is exclusive of import duties, and taxes (assessed at Customs).
2. Shop Pay Installments is available for US orders only.
3. Paypal, Amex, and Discover are unfortunately currently unavailable during the crowdfund.
If you still have questions, keep posting them and I’ll continue to pass them along and press for answers/info.

So I’ve already brought up the boots, legs, and deco comments for the Scott figure to Design. I’ll follow up as we continue the process but to set expectations, I probably won’t have answers on any of this ahead of the campaign ending.

I wonder, how easily you can take the WCW logo piece off the light tunnel? Cause that will make a hell of an entrance for a figure fed. I guess you could always put something over it. Lotsa cool custom work could be done with the stage itself.

Whats even more strange is that Toybiz was also making Marvel figures at the time so how they wouldve allowed it, I have no idea.

Why not offer the ability for non Americans to choose to pay in dollars (and pay their own customs when it arrives) or pay the customs up front if they’d prefer and pay in local currency? It’s fairly evident the thing that’s most holding this back is the international situation

I think a lot of their Marvel figures were better than a lot of Hasbro's. They did have wonky bodies, but the paint, sculpts and washes were all fantastic.

You had 30+ points of articulation, comic book, an accessory like a display base, BAF piece or even a small vehicle inside a tamper-proof clamshell package for $7.99-9.99.

You had 30+ points of articulation, comic book, an accessory like a display base, BAF piece or even a small vehicle inside a tamper-proof clamshell package for $7.99-9.99. Dude, those were the days. I remember having Vengeance Ghostrider, Venom, Spiderman and Wolverine. They were all cool figures. I loved the amount of detail in their paint finishes. I don't get it though. I remember when I first got my Hasbro Marvel Legends, I felt like the body sculpts were more realistic, but they felt like they were lacking in a lot of departments. I've constantly criticized their reuse of the old molds, cheap feeling plastic, lack of paint washes and their ratchet joints. They've made some cool figures, won't take that away from them, but sometimes they get away with too much. That 90's animated series Venom was a huge want and such a disappointment. I can't even see the resemblance to the 90's Carnage on the new retro. Crazy to think that ToyBiz was killing it decades ago, by now all their figures should have butterfly joints. With that being said, I sold off almost all my Marvel Legends. I think I only have 90's Deadpool and retro symbiote Spidey.

ToyBiz Marvel Legends don't hold up for the most part unfortunately. Ugly joints and awful proportions plagued that line. I'll always have a soft spot for Series 4 Punisher though

I’ll be shocked if this project gets backed. Not for lack of trying on Mattel’s part though. Too many people wanting too many different demands met. Every time they try to make something right, people find something even smaller to nitpick. The only ones I really feel bad for are the international collectors. They have a legitimate gripe. I actually saw someone on Reddit say they would have a hard time coughing up $100 for this set lol. The delusion is real in the wrestling figure collecting community. “ Too many people wanting too many different demands met. Every time they try to make something right, people find something even smaller to nitpick” They haven’t fixed the main problem, over charging international customers and offering them no payment plan options. They’ve essentially shut out the rest of the world from backing this. I would back it today if there was a payment plan option

The same when they released the Ring Masters Rick Steiner on the same body but with a normal shoulder. But he still had those horrible oversized feet.
