If this fails, don't expect another stage any time soon. When Legends failed, it took around 8 years to revive the brand. Defining Moments took nearly 6. And those are $20-30 figures. The stench of a failed produce (regardless of why it fails) is strong in Corporate America. And honestly I don't know where they pivot from here. They said this was the lower price point for a stage. HIAC or EC would almost surely be more expensive. In the past Steve said sub $200 sets didn't make a lot of sense financially for Mattel. So you're basically trying to work in the $250-300ish ballpark. That's probably a pretty small window to work with. Yeah, other than entrance stages and rings, what could they do as a crowdfunding campaign? I believe Steve already said they wouldn't do a crowdfunding campaign just for figures, so what else is there? Blue Cage, Hell in a cell and Elimination Chamber could have all been good choices

One thing I wish Mattel would have done was make a commercial inspired those toybiz WCW figure commercials. Would have hit those nostalgia spot and would have fit really well for this stage.

So you would be paying more for the same stage/figures you are getting now, or paying the same $400 for less.

So like having a 40 year old man smashing and slamming his figures like a child while making sound effects with his mouth? Hahaha Lol reminds me how Mattel redid the Castle Greyskull picture on the original box for their MOTU classics line, but except for a kid playing with it was implied to be the same kid but now as an adult playing with it. I guess anything would work remember the backstage Mayhem commercial lol classic.

I want the stage and haven't played with a figure in decades. but I will make the room for it and display some of my favorite WCW figures on it instead of them being on an over crowded shelf.

I have the New Gen arena set up in my office as a cool display piece/setup for taking dome photos whenever I open something new.

A lot of people on here also wanted the Nitro stage… look how well that’s been going lol From a corporate view Mattel isn’t catering to us, so even if Steve and the gang get a brain aneurysm next year and decide to actually go for the Raw stage then I’m willing to bet that higher ups will veto them. If this fails, don't expect another stage any time soon. When Legends failed, it took around 8 years to revive the brand. Defining Moments took nearly 6. And those are $20-30 figures. So you're basically trying to work in the $250-300ish ballpark. That's probably a pretty small window to work with. Smaller interview sets/announce positions or maybe vehicle sets? If they hadn't made the DX Army in the Legends series, that could have worked. Jeep with Hunter and Chyna as tier one, New Age Outlaws as tier 2, X-Pac and the canon as tier 3 maybe? Obviously that wouldn't happen now, but just an idea of something in that range.

So if this crawled to 5k would you all consider this to be a success or a lucky escape? I honestly think that even if this miraculously backs Mattel aren’t doing anymore crowdfunders in the future for WWE. It’s just proved to be too risky I’d even be willing to bet that they’ve already scraped the Raw stage after this fiasco. I’m almost certain. Risky in what way? Embarrassment? Cause I mean, by definition, there's no "risk" to doing a crowdfund outside of maybe the idea that if something doesn't get funded there won't be a next one, but in this hypothetical it would be funded so the closest thing a risk would have paid off anyway.

I think they should keep it around $200-$300 and don’t charge extra for international customers

I’m curious if a smaller scale Nitro or Raw stage roughly the same size and detail as the toy entrance stages Mattel made years ago would be popular.
The WCW basic ring with Dusty and the classic WWF ring with the blue steel cage sold pretty well. And I’m sure kids would love an entrance stage, even if it’s WCW or Raw is War. That Wrekkin’ entrance stage is pretty lame.

I can't wait for the next complaint if Mattel were to come up with a plausible plan to overcome the "burdensome shipping costs." So many of these toxic keyboard warriors always have an ace up their sleeve and just love to complain. At first here I thought the biggest complaints to wrestling fans was to determine and argue about "is Vince running creative? And then Vince ran the Raw after mania into the ground" or "my wrestling Rushmore is _____." Then I came to this thread and now I am like Big E in that eating-popcorn-gif.

The wrestling collector community isn’t as big as we thought. I mean this thing is beautiful and now we’re guaranteed 2 UE figs. I figured there would be more than 2000 ppl in the United States that would want this.

Of course the lights will be turned on especially when taking photos of the WCW figures. I am only human after all.

After p***ing and moaning to lower Steiner to the 5k spot "that would guarantee" a backing; but then those same keyboard warriors dumped on it for your stated reason. I digress. *And for the record, I backed 2 on day 1*

Just wondering….. And maybe I’m in the minority But how many people here on the boards still planning on getting it but haven’t big the bullet yet. Myself I’ll be honest. I plan on backing two but haven’t seen any movement that makes me believe it’s gonna be a reality. So I haven’t jumped in yet. Which is sad cause seems like Mattel’s 2023/24 plan and beyond was to give us figures to accompany this amazing centerpiece. If this fails. I hope everyone is happy with the Wrekkin line or is skilled enough to build customs cause it’s never gonna be offered to the consumer again at this scale
