Perhaps the WCW stage would have sold well 23 years ago when alot more people were watching wrestling and the WCW brand still existed. I also wonder if this stage would have sold well during the Jakks Classic Superstars years? Hmmm

It’s actually shocking that only 2,000 Americans can see the value in this. At $400 including 2 very limited figures, it’s an incredible buy. I guess $400 is a lot of money for some? But I’ve seen some Hasbro figures sell for $700 to $800 now on eBay for one MOC figure so really $400 is not a lot of money in the world of collectibles. Still lots of time to go though so I think it will make it or at least I hope it does. I dont think "find the value in" is accurate. I find the value in it. It's a matter of priorities for me as an adult and a parent. I just think about what else 400 could be spent on and it makes more sense to put it towards a small trip or buy things to upgrade the house or yard vs something that will sit in a display area. I would like to have it and may pull the trigger on a payment plan. But right now it still feels too much when I don't have hundreds of dollars just sitting around.

International Shipping: - There’s no convincing international buyers to buy this who think that they’re being overcharged or that the cost of shipping added to price put it out of their range.
- Mattel isn’t going to change it.
Can we put this discussion to rest? It is what it is. No hard feelings. Y’all can sit this one out if y’all wanna. The fact of the matter is that Americans don’t need foreign help on this. We can easily fund it on our own. So let’s also stop thinking “Welp, we ain’t got the support of the Brits on this so let’s call it a day.”

The fact of the matter is that Americans don’t need foreign help on this. Evidently this is not true

Please stop discussing external hurdles that are preventing you from purchasing an item you might otherwise be inclined to spend money on. America has got this one. Easily.

The fact of the matter is that Americans don’t need foreign help on this. Evidently this is not true I just love when USA customers (which I am) think they know better than international customers. If you all believe that you are being overcharged without a reasonable explanation, then I 100% trust your judgement. You obviously know better than us and I assume purchase numerous items.

It’s been 3 weeks and the same people are complaining about shipping costs. If it’s too expensive for you, that’s fine. This project isn’t for you. Completely understandable. But you’re still complaining about shipping costs. What is there left to discuss after 3 weeks? Continue to beat that dead horse I suppose.

Mattel isn’t going to change it. ...how do you/we know? If enough people keep complaining, something might be done. We'll see, I guess. I'd actually love to know what % of backers on the New Gen set were UK or international... I know there were a lot.

This thread is full of dead horses that have been beaten continuously.
Dismissing international collectors having to pay nearly double is harsh. Imagine if the roles were reversed.
No way in hell would I pay $625+ for this thing. I don’t blame the UK folks but instead applaud them. If this thing fails it’s gonna be obvious as to why so that dead horse has a very useful meaning.

Risky in what way? Embarrassment? Cause I mean, by definition, there's no "risk" to doing a crowdfund outside of maybe the idea that if something doesn't get funded there won't be a next one, but in this hypothetical it would be funded so the closest thing a risk would have paid off anyway. They spend time and money rolling this stuff out, designing it, marketing etc. If it fails it’s a waste of resources for mattel. Fair, but I would imagine the budget dedicated to putting mock-ups and etc. together is relatively negligible. Now, I'm (not demanding the work put into them AT ALL, just that I doubt it reaches anywhere near a level that constitutes a "risk" the way the original OP described it, especially in their hypothetical case where the item does get funded.

The international battle is a good one to fight because Mattel has been overcharging on goods ever since they swapped to this system of paying taxes in advance
They are charging taxes on items that do not even meet the £135 minimum threshold for importing goods.
I hope they fix the entire website, not just the nitro arena.

It’s been 3 weeks and the same people are complaining about people validly complaining about hurdles being put in the way of them backing a project they'd otherwise like to go in on. If it’s too redundant for you, that’s fine. This thread/forum isn’t for you. Completely understandable. But you’re still complaining about people complaining. What is there left to discuss after 3 weeks? Continue to beat that dead horse I suppose.

My calculation was actually a little different, I have it at a £124 overcharge give or take, not £32. This was another user's calculation. That's the thing... why can't Mattel actually show us the price breakdown? It's really not much to ask. All they've said is the £500 includes a £60 shipping surcharge (fair enough) and that the price includes "duty and tax". But it just doesn't add up... for anyone. Want one, PayPal the$430 something to me and pay for it to be shipped to you by method of your choosing once it arrives and I’ll order in the states without the currency or tax differences. My number of £32 was based on said users calculation. Entire collection price difference was my mistake and poor wording. Still applies to anything you’d purchase that is large, heavy, and $400 to be shipped to you. All I can do is offer to take extra trips to the post office if people want to PayPal for it and have protection of refund if you fear I won’t ship on arrival.

Yea this is a real smart work around I think intl people should focus on - maybe a new thread can be made to layout this plan, I think it’s real smart

Unless Mattel adds something to change the directory of this thing, there’s really no point in commenting anymore. Thing is limping along at a snails pace. We’re just beating a dead hors… oh wait, someone already said that. USA, All The Way!
