I bet half the people on these FB groups bitching about the price are the ones trying to sell Target Bret for $60 plus shipping.

Has anyone made a QR code with a link to the project (that’s on the first page)?

Do u guys think if this doesn't make it. It will impact the sales of the nitro ring, or would people still buy it cas of the bischoff? I know mattels pretty much tapped out on the budget of this, but maybe just one little last hoorah to get it over the hump. It would be smart cas u can capitalize on more ring sales and more sales on the Monday night wars line. Since everybody will be clamoring to get those figs for the stage.

I won't pretend to be Mattel's budgetary and/or business plan expert...but there is a part of me that wonders, with all the tie-ins down the pipeline, how the different products were allocated to their respective releases. I know why they went with a deeper figure offering this time around, but I do have to wonder if there was some possibility of an equally priced crowdfunding campaign that was similar in scope to the previous one, with less, but maybe more enticing figures. My mind goes $400 - stage, ring, Bischoff...unlocks are the post-BATB Nitro Hogan (UE instead of Elite), and I dunno, Scott Steiner in lieu of a ring skirt unlock. I don't think the stage necessarily moves the ring (I feel like a stage without a ring still pops more than a ring without a stage, but that's just one guy who won't get either one's opinion), so I wonder if maybe the ring should have come first.

It might boost the sales of the ring. People were counting on a display piece for their WCW figs and that fell through so they’ll get the ring instead. Or didn’t have room for an entrance stage and a ring. But space they woulda used for stage can now be used for the ring. Plus a nitro ring next to a raw is war ring would be a good display piece for the Monday Night Wars

New Gen price was better but it wasn’t really a package people were sold on. It had a lot of factors working against it. - Not everyone wanted another ring. We weren’t that far removed from the Raw and SD Main Event rings or WCT ASRs that a lot of us already had in our collection. Finding a spot for another ring felt more of a hindrance.
- Nostalgia just wasn’t there. New Gen was a really low point for WWF where a lot of people from the Golden Age started checking out
- Diesel was very underwhelming
- Tiers were kinda underwhelming as well. Doink was toyetic but not really a must have and skirts were kind of a “cool if we get it but not gonna be upset if we don’t” item
- The WW block logo is a big eyesore for many and with it being so prominent on the entrance and the ring it was impossible to ignore
- Nothing about the whole set prior to Macho being added felt like a must have
I did find the hype around Doink kind of funny... he was never mentioned once in people's previous UE wants/wish-lists - but suddenly became this must-have figure(?). I said at the time: if he was announced/released as part of the regular UE line or something, there'd have probably been an uproar, lol. Even with my Doink bias, I think most can admit that despite their reservations about the gimmick the UE figure is absolutely perfect. It is THE definitive Doink that comes with all of the bells and whistles you could ask for. In my opinion, the biggest hurdle of the Nitro entrance is the price, but I think the popularity of the New Generation set is completely understated. Many people think that it only represents the dark days with Diesel on top as well as guys like The Goon and Aldo Montoya, but they completely forget or are unaware that the neon entryway debuted at WrestleMania 8 in early 1992. Guys like Hogan/Jake Roberts/Flair/Ultimate Warrior/Savage/Earthquake/Piper came through those lights. It almost acts as a bridge between the Golden Era of Hulkamania and the New Generation so if anything its appeal spans several years of WWF from 1992-1996. That leads to another big issue for me. Even though still limited, Mattel has at least been able to produce a decent amount of names from that era. From main eventers to lower talent like Mabel and The Berserker, you can build a solid display with what is available. The WCW lineup that represents their 1995-1998 peak is seriously lacking with Mattel. Very few if any midcarders have been made and, if you haven't been collecting for a few years, there are major omissions such as Sting/Jericho/Giant. There just isn't much depth.

I know this has been said before but I wish there was an option for people who can't afford the full 400$ where u can offer just the stage at maybe like 250-300 Then an option where u can get the stage and all the figs for 400-450

Assuming they backed so many and will be piecing out the stage and figs separately if it funds and refunding everyone if it doesn’t. Stage is currently sold out but the figs are still up. I’m guessing if this thing picks up momentum they may back a few more. I can DM anyone the link if they wanna keep an eye out to see if anymore go up.

I've gone in on a number of KickStarter campaigns before, where the goal isn't a number of buy-ins, but rather a fixed dollar amount. There are different tiers of funding you can buy in on - the higher ones are more limited in number, with more enticing rewards. One band I backed funding for a new album did buy-ins as low as like maybe $15, which was basically a pre-order for the album if it was funded, and around $150, which was everything between the base tier and the top tier and got you stuff like a private show for all $100+ backers and stuff like that. I think I went in $30 and got my name listed in the liner notes and a t-shirt, lol. Presumably, the top price would have to be greater than the $400 to guarantee yourself everything (the stage, all the figures, whatever else this hypothetical scenario offers), but you might inch a little closer to that goal with a variety of buy-ins. Be interesting to see if a toy manufacturer would ever go down that road.

Perfect packaging and cheaper than RSC and I usually get a shipping notification within a week of RSC sending orders out. Sorry you’ve had a bad experience- I’ve seen a few folks have issues as well

Of the two dollar amounts listed, it's closer to 150 more because there were taxes and shipping on the last crowd fund. It's $160 more than the New Generation set was - well, at least for US costumers, not sure about non-US backers. And to think of it that way, it's not that bad considering this is much larger and we had/have the possibility of getting 2 more UE figures. For me it is 340 Euros more. New gen was 220 Euros. This here 560 Euros That's why I put the part about "at least for US costumers". I can understand a non-US costumer not wanting to back this for that much more, I was just talking about the New Generation set price compared to the Nitro Stage price in terms of US dollar amounts in the States. They had to absolutely knock the figs out of the park and I honestly think most people here who aren’t backing/onthe fence are put off by the offering. How many of the 5 would you buy at retail? For me it’d be Steiner and Warrior. But for someone who’s wanting just one Warrior this is one of his least toyetic looks. The UE1 fig is better in every way. Every figure in this set feels like a Diesel. A bit plain, lacking, and nothing we haven’t (or won’t) seen in the elite line. I would get 4 of the 5. The only one I wouldn't get would be Rey. I was never really a fan of his, and the attire is pretty plain compared to some of his other gear. The upcoming UE figure in the wave with Eddie is much more toyetic - if I were to get one, this would probably be the one.

If people aren't interested and not funding, why continue to invest time and energy into discussing something u have no interest in? "Why discusses the biggest thing going on in the wrestling figure hobby on a discussion board about wrestling figures?" What harm is anyone doing discussing this? Are you worried people providing an alternate point of view so dangerous to the project that it might cause it to do worse?
