guy gives legitimate criticism of mattel's premium line "but the basic figures..." Just making the point that in 2010 when Mattel started their wwe lines they said all their lines would scale together so they could be in the same universe. But that changed pretty early in the contract as the same character in their various lines started being made out of scale so they are no longer in the same universe.

Can we just be honest and say that some of these Ultimates give WCW Toybiz or N64 graghics vibes in the shoulders. Also, am I in the minority was I say the 97% of the time Elites are just as good or even better from a purely display case standpoint?!

The idea that any aspect of the line is perfectly in scale has been out the window for years. Literally since series 2. Jack Swagger destroyed the idea of perfect scale before the line had even got going.

As long as the tall guys are taller than the shorter guys, I'm not concerning myself with variance of centimeters.

I always display my UE’s separately to my elites.

I think this is a genuine problem with Ultimates. Especially the torso for Goldberg/Roman/Eddie. That thing is atrocious.

Mattel figures haven't really been in scale since 2011. Take any two figures, put em beside each other to compare heights and then look up the wrestler's real heights. 99 times out of 100 they're way off what they should be.
Hell, even take two figures of the same wrestler and they'll often be two completely different sizes.
I've never been much of a scale guy so it doesn't bother me, but I've never been able to understand this idea that scale is one of mattels strengths. They're better than jakks, buts that's all the credit I can give em.

As long as the tall guys are taller than the shorter guys, I'm not concerning myself with variance of centimeters. Exactly this. No one that I remember bat an eye when we had undertaker and Rey not only the same height, but also ripped to shreds. Most of us don't require miniscule differences in heights. To expect that from a mass produced toy line is ridiculous.

This thread is ironic … I recently got the Ultimate Warrior WM 7 UE … I was comparing it to the Royal Rumble Warrior I have & I thought the UE looked smaller … Now I’m a Moc collector so I thought maybe I was just going crazy or maybe it was the packaging that made it look this way … I guess perhaps it really is smaller??

As far as scale goes my only issue is what I said previously. I feel that wrestlers should be the same size in the very line they are in. Or at least within millimeters of each other. But when a wrestler’s figures are so far apart like the ones I mentioned above that’s an issue for me. I have passed on so many basic Orton’s and McIntyres I would have otherwise bought if the scale wasn’t that far off.

The problem is that they have been using DB torso for Aj for so long that this new one looks odd. AJ has a good physique. More over addition of butterfly joint will make the ultimates look broader than elite.

Yeah it’s pretty noticeable. Kinda like we’re starting a whole new collection.

It's why I display my elites and ultimates on different shelves

Personally, I could not care any less. As long as Andre’s bigger than guys like Savage, and guys like Rey are little, that’s good enough for me. Unless they’re quite noticeably out of scale, I would have to look it up to tell you if Savage was taller than Warrior, or if the Rock is taller than Austin. When you grew up on Hasbros and LJNs, having any differences in scale whatsoever still seems like some futuristic novelty. IMO, it bugs me more that everyone is portrayed as way, way more ripped than they actually were. As a hasbro guy I subscribe to this Bigger guys bigger, smaller smaller snd everyone else about in the middle Like how typhoon and earthquake were bigger then yoko was sizeably bigger

Im pretty much of the mindset of good enough when it comes to scale but I'll never figure out why Legends Orndorff was so tall when his previous releases weren't.

I don't really have too much an issue with scale when it's not too noticeable. However, the new Legends Farooq is taller than my Legends Edge. It just looks so out of place. Are there any calves or knees that might help shorten him?

I did notice the Ultimate Rick Rude is way larger than any of his Elites. You have to pose him a bit differently to get him to look in scale with some of the other figures. He’s pretty much taller than Hulk.

Jake is the same way. I can’t have either of them on my shelf because of the height difference.
