I typically am not a fan of butterfly shoulders. But I'm kinda digging them on the Ultimates. More than I would have guessed.

I don't care either way. They don't do anything for me, but I don't see them going away either.

Always the butterfly joint. The torso choices have been iffy but the BF joint is a must. What they need to do is give us a true rocker ankle.

I would love to see what people think about these If you know how to pose a figure those are great. If you are just looking to put a vanilla stance on a shelf or want to slam that figure around a plastic ring it's a disaster lol

In my head, they're their own thing, but Wfigs members would flip out lol.

I hope mattel add neck articulation as well. Agreed. A double barbell would be great along with the lower neck POA. The biggest miss in my opinion (besides the torsos) are the lack of a true rocker ankle. Honestly even the Elites should have a proper ankle by now.

I prefer the butterfly joints. Paired with the double jointed elbows, posing figures has been a lot of fun. But I get folks who are more into a cleaner sculpt over more articulation.
I just got the Bash at the Beach 3 pack I’ve been looking for for a while and while I love them for what they are, not being able to pose Sting doing the cupped hands around the mouth pose was a bit of a bummer. He just has to stand there. Stuff like that is only achievable with the butterfly joints.

Ankle articulation on mattel figs is very outdated and poor, we need articulation like how hasbro does.

I personally don’t like Butterfly joints as I prefer realism over additional pose ability and I know I’m not alone. I much preferred the way series 6 Rock was vs the new one we are getting but thankfully for me, we get the soft goods to cover the joints up. I understand the butterfly joints serve a purpose for some collectors and figure photographers and I think for certain talent it does produce some really cool photography and poses. However, I think it would be ideal if as collectors we were given a choice whether we want them or not. My opinion is people just like the idea of added value and actually very rarely use the extra articulation. If Mattel offered both versions, maybe they could offer figures without butterfly joints at a cheaper price point. To be clear, I’m not advocating butterfly joints should go away, I think ideally we should get a choice. Given the choice 90% of the time I’d buy without the joints as the figures aesthetically look better but I would perhaps buy the odd talent if I felt the extra articulation added value to give me an iconic pose that I couldn’t do without. Really interested to know if given the choice, where or how people would choose to spend their money. What do you mean by realistic? The Rock's right hand not able to reach his left elbow pad? Previously people complain about ab crunches. Mattel used to do basics with entrance gear called Entrance Greats. That line being discontinued for some time might tell us something about its popularity.

I mean, that Eddie Guerrero is shocking... it's a premium figure, yet the original figure twelve years ago actually looks better.

I won't disagree that the proportions on some of the UE are off but for the most part it only looks egregious when these are posed LIKE a Basic. They aren't meant to be. That older Eddie cannot be manipulated to emulate any of the iconic poses that the upcoming UE can.

Eddie needed a new torso I think they should have not released this version if they have no budget for the release.

The issue for me isn't the butterfly joints but rather the inconsistency of the quality between torsos. Ultimate 13 Hogan is probably my favorite Mattel WWE figure of all time. A dream come true and it looks great. Butterfly joints are smoothly integrated. Rey Mysterio looks like a mess though. I don't necessarily want to blanket and say yes because as it is it is flawed but rather yes if they can figure out a way to make all the bodies that have it also have clean silhouette.

Yeah, let’s pose Andre the Giant like Spider-Man 😂🤷🏻♂️ A lot of people haven’t read the OP and appear to be very precious. It specifically says this isn’t suggesting butterfly’s go away just that they aren’t always needed for every talent and if Mattel could/would consider offering a version without AS WELL AS with it would be a good thing.
