i have new panther and deadpool , I love posing them. Only people that hate extra articulation points are just vaniila poser. Yeah, let’s pose Andre the Giant like Spider-Man 😂🤷🏻♂️ A lot of people haven’t read the OP and appear to be very precious. It specifically says this isn’t suggesting butterfly’s go away just that they aren’t always needed for every talent and if Mattel could/would consider offering a version without AS WELL AS with it would be a good thing. You aren't suggesting that they release an UE Andre (for example) with butterfly joints AND without are you? That can't be what you mean. Dropping particular POA for individual characters doesn't make sense within a specific line either. There needs to some sort of consistency within the UE (or Elite or Basic) lines. No one is suggesting that Andre or the Warrior need to be as flexible as Spider-Man or has to be able to do a gymnastics split but that isn't always the goal with multiple POA. The subtle and nuanced poses you can get with butterfly joints, true rocker ankles, ball jointed torsos and double barbell necks are vastly superior to what an Elite provides. For $30+ I'd expect every POA they can cram in there plus the relevant accessories. Luckily there is a Basic line for those that want a vanilla silhouette for their shelf.

I completely get the benefits of all of those POA for some talent, hell, maybe even the majority of talent…but for some talent it adds no value. Now if it added no value but had no negative impact on aesthetics then fine but the problem I have is, in some cases, it makes figures look ugly and unrealistic and therefore it’s pointless having it. Even the torso for Andre is useless because if it moves 1mm the singlet doesn’t line up. Just throwing ‘consistency’ out there isn’t an argument for a line which has continuously changed since its inception. Nobody is throwing out the first Rock or Bret because they aren’t ‘consistent’. Likewise, nobody would be screaming for extra articulation on Andre had he come out without those horrific shoulders and actually looked human.

I'd prefer butterfly joints on Elites. I hate alot of the Ultimate torso molds/choices used.

There are very few Wrestlers that need Ultimate articulation to do their signature pose. Most wrestlers pose with arm/s above their heads or with a point or such. Hogan elites can do his 'ear to the crowd' or 'pulling a Mr Universe pose', Warrior can have his hands in the air above his head, Undertaker can have one arm over his head, Kane's arms raised for pyro, Big Show with one arm up signaling a chokeslam, Cena saluting, Austins two fists over head, Trish pointing a finger in the air, Orton with wide arms on the turnbuckles, Usos with a finger pointed upwards, etc.
You a re writing "vanilla silhouette" like it's a bad thing or a knock on someone who reckons many wrestlers don't benefit from advanced articulation (which is mostly true). Andre would likely benefit from Shoulder articulation because he is posed most likely with his arms folded. It doesn't mean it's needed, or that it benefits the figure, if the figure (like Eddie) looks like a knock-off aftermarket job due to the advanced articulation.

Well lucky for you Elites exist and don't seem to be going anywhere

Why is that lucky for me? I never gave any personal preference. I was just stating that you're wrong.
