Yeah that color difference is insane. Luckily it’ll be displayed MOC so I won’t see it much. Still, has to discourage people from spending premium prices on MC in the future.

Again, I know they can't afford to (they can though), but Ultimate attire should be stitched with different textiles, or with 3D rubber sections, etc. It should not simply be a printed design on cheap and thin vinyl. You Logan Paul purchasers better start worrying.

Woof! Whole host of issues with this…at no point should a Jazwares figure be better than a Mattel ultimate. Supremes cost more so they really should be but I get your point

I'm gonna go against the grain and say that a well done cloth/pleather/material jacket is always better than a moulded one.
The Supreme Cody looks well, but changing the arms out (with and without sleeves) is just annoying to me. I do admit the cody with the material jacket that was shown at whatever toy show it was shown at, as a proto, had a much better jacket than the finished product, but I still prefer, generally speaking, that, over the moulded ones.

I'd guess the tights on the proto images had to change colour because the figure would look naked with that skin tone finish.
Making the kneepad logos so small, to fit them on the knee articulation, looks dreadful, though. Should've just painted them onto rubber knee pads.

I think we can all finally agree that someone or Mattel in general is colorblind. I still can't get over salmon Bret, ginger hair that's supposed to be blonde and multiple other screw ups where we have to call out the color choices.

I wasn’t even talking the colors, just the sculpt. The renders never look like the final product. The limbs are always thicker or more natural looking in the renders. And there’s not been an UE torso that has actually looked like Cody’s render. But if you want to talk colors the figures even if the gold was the correct shade of gold it will never truly look as good as the renders because there’s no paint washes on them. With the gold for this figure’s being different than the renders I would bet that the gold that was used is probably the best “gold” plastic they have for it to be molded in. And we know they aren’t going to paint the whole leg mold. It’s going to be cast in the main color with the secondary colors painted on. Look how many folds/wrinkles the renders boots have. The actual Sting/Cody boots never look that good in figure form. While the sculpt might be there the details don’t really show up, because they don’t do a wash on the figures to bring it out. People say it should be more detailed because it’s a premium figure. But just like with the Nitro set Cody’s a limited production run item. I’m sure it didn’t generate the same production numbers as a mass retail UE figure does. So that means the production cost for this figure is higher than what it is for your standard UE. It’s already has the special packaging than a regular UE which I am sure ate up a good amount of the budget. So with the figure if there’s more details added to this Cody (like painting the tights a darker gold) than what a standard mass retail UE has then the production cost would have to be higher as would the MSRP. Basically for Mattel the figure needs to be designed like your standard mass retail UE figure but with the special packaging to fit in the higher operation cost of a lower production run. Where the people who ordered it thinks because it costs more it should be given a larger budget for more details to it, but unfortunately that’s not how it works. I’m not saying either side is right or wrong. Are there things I wish were different? Sure. I wish they used the tights leg mold so there were some wrinkles in it. And yes I wish the gold was darker. But the figure we’re getting is what I expected it to be when I was ordering it. I honestly doubt this is what you expected when you ordered the fig at a premium price. I think you’re justifying it to yourself. Whole lot of stretching there. - The tattoo is crap and the placement makes no sense. - The torso looks off - The gold is incorrect, seriously, look at goldust, stardust, rey figs etc… they can mold plastic in the correct gold. This isn’t even gold, it’s a weird yellow/green colour. - The tiny knee print deco’s. Compare to jakks supreme. - The coat doesn’t fit right even compared to the first production example which was shown. It doesn’t close correctly on the chest where the Velcro is put. If you excuse everything then there’s no reason for a company to put things right. I don’t have any skin in the game anymore, I gave up on Mattel and just collect funko’s but this is a premium priced figure and Bill has messed it up. Well, then you would be wrong. Because I know just because it’s sold at a premium price it still going to be a standard mass retail figure. They’ve (Mattel) said this since 2003 (when they got the DC license) these special run figures cost more to produce because it’s a limited production run. There’s no extra budget for them. It’s just a higher production cost. It’s not supposed to be a “premium” figure. And people need to realize that. And the final product never come out looking like the renders. The renders always have better looking torsos, arms and legs. But we know what parts Mattel have in their parts library. So yeah I can pretty much imagine what parts they’re going to use. With the torso they used it for Amazon HBK and Cody should scale at least that size. Especially when he came back to the WWE at WM two years ago. He was much thicker than he is now. And when this figure was solicited I don’t think the shoulders had the butterfly joints yet so HBK’s original torso doesn’t work because it doesn’t have the butterfly joints. So yes that it the torso I expected this figure to receive because he’s not smaller than HBK and I think he’s thicker than AJ so the AJ torso would be too small. As for the knee logos. They look to be just as big as his Elite’s which are the same size as his Jazwares figures. The Mattel Elite and Jazwares Supreme and core lines all have basically the same sized knees. And they all print the logo on the knee piece. The entrance jacket looks fine. And we knew early on it was going to be soft goods because that’s what they said it was going to be. And like I said above it’s no better or worse than Jazwares. Would I have rather it been like the UE Bret? Yes, but many wanted soft goods. And it’s what I pictured it looking like. The only things I am upset (disappointed) with are that they didn’t use the tights mold with wrinkles for the legs, but I knew from the rendor that it was going be the bare legs molded in the tights color. And the weight belt was still lacking. Again we knew from the render though. My biggest issue is the drop down hips. I hate them and don’t want them on my figures. The tights color now that you mention Goldust (I forgot about him) I can’t explain why they didn’t use the same gold they used in the past. Maybe it’s not available to them anymore? And the neck tattoo wasn’t a surprise because that’s what they did with his Elite. And I addressed that more below. So yes this is pretty much what I expected the final product to be. You can clearly see in this photo (which I believe is actually from Wrestlemania 38) that the tattoo stops just below his jawline. The placement on the neck by Jazwares is correct and yet people still say it should extend onto his face like Mattel have been placing it. While I wasn’t a fan of the placement when they showed it on his Elite proto it is in the correct spot. As for the pic you posted it’s below the jawline because he’s looking up. Look at pics of him looking forward and you see it’s partially on his jaw like the figure. So it is in the correct spot. If they just put it on the neck the head would cover the top portion of the tattoo and you would have to shave away the figure’s jawline and cut away the triangle portion of the head from under the ears to where his hairline is and the back portion of the jawline. And that might distort the likeness because the jawline was changed.

Start a YouTube channel, offer something worthwhile, get 100k+ followers, get free figures. It's not easy, mind you. But you can have all you desire.

Or, like Cody's jacket on the grey model, will people get something different in the end?

Even with the cloth jacket and wrong color on the tights I think this figure and the other elites are way better than the aew ones. There’s something about aews skintones, headscans, and idk if its the plastic or type of coloring paint just make it look wonky and cheap.
I think it says a lot about mattel that everyone has been bringing up the tights issue when it was revealed. You’d think we could get some type of response on hey we messed up or hey we’re going to push back ppls orders to correct or issue instead of just rolling it out. Intentionally ignoring the subject on the q&a or instagram comments

Will say, I do like the scans and the parts used though. Here a lot of torso complaints but think this looks like Cody. They just gave him pee pants is all.

Can't believe all these Influencers are getting them first and free while most of us had to pay for ours and still won't get it til July 🤦 Always feels like such a minor complaint. We are still getting ours. They put in the time and effort that often leads to more sales for Mattel. Plus it helps us get to see in person images before we get them.

The red hair when it's supposed to be blonde bothers me the most. SOO many Edge & HBK heads ruined by that red hair.
