A few legends missing won’t make the company go bankrupt. I never said Mattel would go out of business, the Barbie movie is making a gazzilon dollars this weekend. My gf text me and told me they loved it. I do think the WWE License is in trouble though if we don't get some more legends. Mattel save the legend portion for last, they know that 70 percent of the Eiite and Ultimate line base consumers are legend collectors. Outside of the Hulk Hogan three pack, the beautiful Warrior figure and Big Poppa Pump, and the Foley collection yesterday was a bad day for legends. |

Don't know how they can't get rodamn or Tyson on a deal those guys are merch movers, not just figures imagine the rodzilla shirts or Tyson dx shirts funkos video games etc.

WWE doesn’t care who gets made as long as they’re approved to be, and as long as Mattel continues to make them money. and Mattel isn’t going to break it off with WWE just because they won’t/can’t sign some new legends |

I want as many legends and not quite legends as we can get, especially from the Golden Era, but I’m going to play devil’s advocate for a minute.
Do I want the Killer Bees and Hercules. Absolutely. But how many units of each of those would they realistically move? The amount of people familiar enough with some of these alumni is dwindling every day.
Big names like Macho and Flair, sure. Those have more selling power, but what if their estates were asking for an amount that would make the deal not worth their time?
You could even get the random kid to buy Demolition I’m sure, because they look freaking awesome. But I don’t see randoms buying a Herc, you know?

Bruh Mattel have had the license for 13 years now, and you think that now they're gonna lose the license because they didn't make Hercules or The Killer Bees?
Why are people so convinced that Hercules is such a massive star that Mattel is losing so much money because they haven't made him?

Claiming that the Killer Bees would sell big might be the funniest claim I’ve seen you make yet. That’s the worst is when you have to argue people you would want figures of. Do I want Koko, Hercules and the killer bees? Absolutely. Do I think having them would affect the bottom line and move the needle in the slightest? Not a chance in hell. |

Blame Demolition and the estates of Hawk and Animal for the lawsuit. Blame Sting for leaving. Blame Ric Flair for doing garbage things. WWE are to blame for a lot of things but they shouldn’t be blamed for not throwing a ton of money towards ex wrestlers that don’t want to work with them just so they can make a few toys. Not everyone wants a Legends contract. Mattel makes who they can. Just because the options are for you or a few collectors on an Internet forum doesn’t mean they are failing. The biggest merch mover is Roman Reigns. Cody is going to be a close second as time goes on. They don’t need to rely on the midcarders of the 80s. |

It's much more than a few collectors on a internet forum. Most of the merchandise Roman and Cody are selling is clothing. Around 70 percent of Elite and Ultimate collectors are middle aged, young consumers don't care anyting about "toys", and I will blame WWE. These guys put their bodies on the line and deserve every penny they ask for from a company thats owned by a man that that did more "garbage" things than everyone else combined and he just became a multi billion dollar guy. They deserve to be paid. |

I'm not blaming Bill or Steve at all but WWE needs to do something about the legend situations. I agree with you 100% - but if you try asking a genuine question about why mattel are lacking in any department - there are all these suck up fanboys that jump to mattels defence - its beyond cringy. Same snide replies from the same suck up memebers. Demolition, legion of doom, macho man and flair are all extremely important parts of the legends section, but while all these suckers are praising mattel for releasing 10 hogans a month....i fear we wont get a word in. Mattel are cheaping out at every turn. The reveals this year were atrocious. Lack of first time in the lines and horrific job on kurt angle. Im definitely giving up now. Atrocities like eddie Guerrero and kurt angle ultimates are plastic proof that mattel has fallen into the comfortable zone. |
