At this point, I’m starting to hope more than ever a 1/6 high end company swoops in and gets the wwe licence. I think Mattel do a good job. I’ve been higher on the product in the past. My biggest gripe is the lack of information about Macho UE cancelation. If only they had a way of communicating to their consumers what happened??? 🙄 I’d love to see Enterbay, Threezero or Hot Toys get the license and make super high end 1/6 scale figures. Start with the legends and release 4-6 per year. Yes I know Storm made Hogan, but without anyone else at the scale, it’s seems a little narrow to add them. SDCC was a little flat for me this year. Certainly not bad, just flat. Wwe wouldn't allow them to only produce 5 figures a year. It's safe to say the amount Mattel is pumping out, wwe is very happy in this relationship. Hasbro on the other hand... At the price point I’m thinking I’d suggest WWE (or the company that went into the high end market like this) would only want to produce 5(ish) a year. In my view they would follow a similar model to Enterbay releasing NBA figures, which I believe is right around that mark.

I agree we need new legends signed. Heck even sign some of those Mexican, Japanese wrestlers that came by WCW and WWF.
I need more Steiners brothers too

It's not uncommon for different toy companies to license the same IP for different product types and scales, like how Eaglemoss produces WWE figurines or WizKids did some games 5 or 6 years ago (or how like 3 different companies make Fortnite figures in different scales). It depends on how broad the Mattel deal is.

When Mattel’s contract comes up for renewal they need to negotiate a clause where they can sign talents without a Legends contract.

Like, Mattel is never losing this license, nor should WWE want to leave.
I forgot about SHF! I think part of the issue with high-end companies doing WWE is that you still want to retain some sense of bulk and durability in your wrestling figures. Enterbay could probably pull off a decent 1/6 Hogan or Austin, judging by their NBA line. SHF stuff is phenomenal but it usually looks a little delicate.

“Abysmal showing” “Mattel line may be finished sooner than later” This gimmick has run it’s course. 🥱 You can make fun of me all you want, that's your right but to pretend there isn't a ton of people on here upset at whey they saw ( or didn't see) is the true gimmick. I'm not blaming Bill or Steve at all but WWE needs to do something about the legend situations. And who will you blame when those families or wrestlers turn down the offers no matter what is thrown at them? This is often the case and why we dont have certain names in the line because they simply dont want to do business with wwe in any form

The funny part is thinking WWE needs to throw money at a bunch of old timers from the past when they are making a TON of money right now. I highly doubt anyone at WWE gives a damn about the potential low end thousands they could make from a Hercules Hernandez toy that would mostly clearance out anyways. WWE let Sting leave because they never needed Sting. Hell they hardly used him for merchandising. Literally none of the Legends listed without deals are going to make more merch/toy wise than a Roman Reigns or a Cody Rhodes. Sting merch is being outsold over in AEW by Danhausen!
Gimmick poster or not, just because a big chunk of collectors are collectors of Legends, doesn’t mean WWE is hurting at all when it comes to the amount of Legends it has under contract. They could release only Hogan, HBK, Bret, Taker, Austin and Rock in the next ten Legends series and they would all sell well enough. Them and
There doesn’t need to be a serious talk because it’s not that serious.

I’m not sure they needed to sign headbangers for example, they’re hardly going to move the needle on merch. So whilst your point is valid, it’s not the approach WWE take to these things - I’m not sure what their reasons are for signing or not signing talent to legends contracts but it’s not cash related, or at least not ‘solely’ cash related.

Them and There doesn’t need to be a serious talk because it’s not that serious. Just because the legends on the list aren't going to make more money than Roman & Cody (the top merch getters in the WWE currently) doesn't mean they shouldn't try to sign more legends or sign new legends when other legends contracts run out. The WWE isn't going to throw money at anyone, they offer the same deal to everyone, the wrestlers get a certain percent of the merchandise sold, the more the legends merchandise sells, the more the legend, and WWE, gets. Also, every year, just as many legends are on the WWE's top merchandise sellers as current stars. Why wouldn't the WWE want to keep that revenue stream rolling in. No Hercules isn't going to make as much as some of the top current wrestler's sales, but he would make just as much, if not more than the Goon, Peter Maivia, and Terry Gordy. Also, even though the legends on the list may not make as much as Roman or Cody, many of them would bring in a ton of money on their own. You can't tell me that Macho Man, the Road Warriors, Demolition, and Sting wouldn't bring in a good amount of money for the company if they were signed. Plus, the WWE didn't let Sting leave, his contract ran out and he decided to sign with AEW. And while Danhausen is currently making more money than Sting is for the company, that's not really a good indicator that Sting doesn't make money. Sting barely wrestles for the company and is still in the top 10 in merchandise sales, not too far behind Kenny Omega (#7 on the list, and also behind Danhausen in sales). Sting is above Chris Jericho, Hangman Page, the Hardly Boys (the Young Bucks), Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Jon Moxley, and many other of the company's top stars - which is pretty impressive since you said they hardly use him for merchandising.

I agree with the OP's sentiments, but I mainly want NEW legends. I get that Macho Man, Sting, etc. all sell or will continue to sell. But I've been in this game since day one, so for me PERSONALLY I've got all the Road Warriors looks I need, and same with Sting, Macho, Andre, Warrior, etc. I have little interest in any new ones unless they blow me away: amazing head sculpt or new title belt.
I want the Steiners, Mr. Fuji, Nailz (won't happen), and the Mountie (won't happen) more than anyone right now. I'd also take One Man Gang (I have Akeem), Nikita Koloff, and El Gigante. For upgrades, all I want is a better debut Sid Justice and really I'm good. Maybe if Mattel can finally nail Bret Hart's face I'll buy another one, but really I'm 98% complete thanks to Mattel's decade+ of awesomeness.

When Mattel’s contract comes up for renewal they need to negotiate a clause where they can sign talents without a Legends contract. Why would Mattel’s higher ups want to go back to that? They are perfectly happy saving that money and letting the wwe sign wrestlers.
