The scalpers are gonna smell blood and find out it's ketchup just like the people still trying to sell Toxic Attraction figures on secondary for 40 bucks each.

But that initial rush will be great for them.

I dunno, I'm a casual collector of Marvel Legends and I think they're still doing pretty well. I mean, the packaging switch was a horrible idea, absolute linekiller, glad they are getting rid of that, but I'm really digging some of the stuff they're putting out right now.

But as far as Mattel WWE goes, yeah. It's gone downhill fast and, more than that, it's snowballing. 

Ok, full disclosure, I buy almost all my figures from Ringside because I can't afford to buy them anywhere else. Most figure etailers don't let you do installment plans like Pay In 4, and with my limited budget, and lack of access to retail stores, Ringside is all I have usually.

But if you take ringside out of the equation...

I don't know how much of this is that the price point still isn't matching the cost. Everything, and I do mean everything, from the cost of the plastic to the cost to transport goods, has risen. But somehow, the price of the figures has remained fairly constant. The retail price point of basics, compared to 5 years ago, is only what, four dollars higher? At most? But if you look at everything else around us, the price of a McChicken has gone up nearly 300% in that same time. So sadly, something has to give. Either you lower the quality of the figures, or you raise the price. They just massively increased the quality of the basics. How much you want to bet the price goes up too? Nothing happens in a vacuum. If they are going to allot the same amount of budget for these figures as they did before, in order to keep the price fairly constant, then the quality of the figures will go down. Just how the economy works.

It isn't like Mattel is making a ton of profit as it is.

I'm usually more forgiving than most when it comes to faces but holy moly those Bret faces are honestly embarrassing. Completely unusable with no glasses, *barely* useable with the glasses. Completely massacred what should be a really great figure.
